I called ahead and mentioned that my boyfriend and I wanted to each get some tattooes. We got there an hour and a half later, only to wait 30 minutes for any artists to show up. From there, I waited for an hour and a half for the design (which was one sentence and some lines), however many smoke breaks and way too much texting from one of the artists. The tattooes turned out amazing, but I was on the chair for less than an hour. When I asked how much I owed him, he said $300. Let's do the math on that - that's $300 for less than an hour on a chair. The artists were great to talk to and talented, but the service was terrible and the shop is absolutely overpriced. My husband and I decided after an amazing weekend in Palm Springs that getting matching tattoos would be the best way to end our weekend. As you should know my husband is in the Military and its very rare he gets time off to spend with his family. However we had the worst experience here at The Tattoo Gallery. We called in advance with our spontaneous tattoo ideas (aka small outline of an owl) they said at 4:15pm that they had multiple artists available, I reassured him we wouldn't be there for at least 30 mins. He said it didn't matter, he could take care of us. So we decided okay, let's do it! Arriving a little bit after 4:45, maybe like 4:55, we checked in thinking okay this place is great. Wow were we WRONG! First off this place is in the ghetto, drunk people lined the front, half clothed and stood there with scribbles covering them head to toe. Someone who has tattoos starts to become a little skeptical after analyzing their surroundings. And believe me we had the time. We waited till 8:30 before anyone even came up to us to apologize for the intense wait. Honestly, if the gentleman had told us a wait time from when we walked in, because I understand the first come first serve rule, we would have been more understanding but clearly the lack of customer service goes to show the lack of education between the entire staff here at The Tattoo Gallery. Sean and the rest of the crew at T.G. are hands down the BEST IN THE VALLEY! The level of customer service is unmatched, the quality of their work is magazine worthy! I have a few pieces from these guys, and my wife does as well. We wouldn't dream of going anywhere else! Not only are these some of the most talented people I have had the pleasure of meeting but they really will go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The shop is decorated with art work from the artists in the shop. This is an entire crew of TRUE artists that dedicate a lot of time to perfecting their craft! Steven is a brilliant artist. I went in with a basic drawing that I had drawn that I'd wanted, and asked him to make it more like calligraphy, and classy and elegant and pretty. He completely exceeded my expectations. Within 20 minutes, with his VERY first sketch, I knew it was exactly what I'd dreamed of and more. He made sure I was completely comfortable and helped me understand what was going on step by step. He could tell what amount of pain I could take at what level and for how long and helped me feel completely at ease for my first tattoo. It turned out way WAY better than I dreamed!!! I've had my tattoo for almost 6 months now, and I still get people telling me how great it looks, and that the lines are FLAWLESS!!! I strongly recommended TG as your go to tattoo shop!!  I had an amazing experience and now have a beautiful piece of art on my body.   Tony Francois, my artist, who is also co-owner of the shop did an impeccable job.  The shop is also owned by Sean Wood, who I met when I first walked in.  I had a systematic approach to finding a shop. I compared all the shops in the valley and then called local body pierces to get an objective opinion. 4 out of the 5 shops recommended TG. What also impressed me about TG was their community outreach and the amount of non-profit work they did.  What is also unique to the shop is the T-shirts they sell.  The designs are tattoo and street inspired graphics for both men and women.   The women's shirts are great because there is a waist cut into them, so they are very complimentary.  I have gotten a number of compliments on my TG Girl shirt! As a 59 year old woman I at first felt a little uneasy  walking into the shop. But once inside I felt very comfortable and really appreciated the help I received in choosing the best tattoo for me. Went in to one local shop and was quoted $100 an hour for a portrait tattoo and told me it would be around 6 hours of work. Then went in to The Tattoo Gallery and was, there worked seemed much nicer, and was quoted $150. Had Tony at the Tattoo Gallery do it and it came out beautiful and took less than 2 hours. You get what you pay for and in this case I saved money, and got a way better tattoo than I would have else where. Read Less
