I have had great experiences at Fat Cat since 2007, however this most recent visit was one of the best. I came in for a Friday the 13th special to get my nose pierced, and the piercer Don was amazing. This is only place I'll go to for tattoos! Aaron always goes above and beyond to give me exactly what I'm looking for. He has a really soft hand and super clean lines. 16/17 tattoos on my body he has done! This place is the only place I recommend to my friends and family to get quality ink! So my 15 year old daughter wanted her noise to be pierced. So I took her there. No was to greed us at the front, so we just stand there for 5 minutes listening to foul music. Than this lady comes out and tell us to wait. Okay we waited for 30 minutes. Finally this ...... pierce guy comes out like he is a sh...t.. I did the paper work, gave my ID, than he asked for any identification for my daughter. She said I don't have it. I said so what we do now? we waited for soo long to here this? And know what, I said? He started yelling at me and waiving the papers I signed in my face. At first I thought he is just joking. I asked again, so what we do know we waited for 30 minutes to hear this. He just went off like a little bit.... To have my kids around this crazy person was not a good thing. So me and my two daughters left as whole, no injuries. Thanks God. My husband would have a lot to say to that guy "Don" if he would of been with us.Anyways, in conclusion, ratchet place please avoid. I had some piercing done at it was a great experience. This place is bad. I'm cool usually. I don't sit around giving feedback. Under all that were red walls with black trim and the floor was white and maybe with black on it, but it was bright. The rooms were big and the side was more open. The piercing room was straight ahead through the front door.PIERCING/TATTOO:My friend has gotten an ear piercing in the cartilage of her left ear from another shop 2 weeks prior and said the guy messed it up pretty bad so she came to get her other 3 holes that she wanted as well. She has gotten her nose pierced here some years back and said it went great. She said her new 3 holes but less than the on the other guy fun the other place messed up on.PRICE:$90 for all 3 left cartilage piercings together. EXPERIENCE:I walk in straight to the piercing window and see my friend already talking to Don Juan (not making this name up) about her holes and prior experience. He took all her information and took us Back to the room. Don Juan had us place the hole markings exactly where we wanted and even made expert suggestions on what type of ear rings to use and the placement of the holes. The piercings came out great. What a great place! Just had a small piece inked on my wrist that may not be significant to anyone but me and Shannon's work was fabulous. I went and saw Don for a piercing today and he made it THE MOST enjoyable experience I have ever had. Granted, when is getting a piercing enjoyable? It's not really, but Don's calm demeanor, conversation, sense of humor, and work ethic made the whole experience absolutely amazing. My husband and I recently decided upon a tattoo design for our wedding ring fingers. We knew we wanted to get this work done in Carmichael. We were driving back from a friend's house in Granite Bay and decide to call this shop to see if they could squeeze us in. We called at 9pm and it took us 12 minutes to arrive there. I want in to get my ears and septum pierced. Unfortunately they are uneven, and they got infected really quickly. He was unable to put a correct ball on the end of the septum piercing so I had to go somewhere else to get a correct one that would stay put. Because every time I tried to come back he was unavailable. My ears ended up being a big problem and he had to repierce I believe two holes and now that I'm watching them heal, I can see along my lobes, that they are not even on either side. I would probably suggest going somewhere that does piercing on a regular basis rather than the side business of a tattoo shop. Especially if you need follow up or after care checks. Read Less

I love FatCat. Terry is a very amazing and flexible artist. Today my sister had a watercolor style jelly fish and I had a very special angel tattoo. Terry gave me my first tattoo on the inside of my foot. I mostly knew what I wanted, but was not completely sure. I could see it in my mind, but could not describe it. I gave him two pictures and he perfectly captured what I wanted. The detail is amazing. Feet are a painful place to tattoo, he kept checking to see if I was okay or wanted a break. Clean lines, helpful suggestions, understands what the client needs, and is overall very good at what he does. Came in and got my first tattoo done by him back in November 2015, then couldn't wait to go in and get my forearm piece done about 7 months later. I get an insane amount of compliments on my tattoos, everyone always asks where I got them done and I rave about fat cat tattoo on fair oaks and tell them to ask for dose! We were waiting for our ride to come and pick us up because there had been no parking and instead of letting us stay in the shop they kicked us out. The staff is so rude and had shaking ass hands. I called today to find out if an appointment was needed to get my nose pierced.  I was informed I could come in tonight and get it done, I was so stoked!  After work I went over there.  I was greeted when I walked in and didn't have to wait at all.  Lexxy took me back right away, had me fill out a form and explained the process to me.  Years before I had gotten my nose pierced and had to let it close because of my job.  Lexxy could see where the original hole was and repierced it in the same spot.  I was only there for like 10 minutes.  It was a great experience and she did an awesome job.  She was very friendly and I would for sure come back if I decide to get anymore piercings. I went here to get matching tattoos with my mom for my birthday. It was a little pricey for tattoos that were only about 1 square inch. Nick did an amazing job! I only regret that he didn't do my moms as well. Her tattoo turned out terrible! Looks like it was done by a 5 year old that got a hold of a tattoo gun. Yikes! Well maybe that's a little dramatic. Kirstie is an amazing artist! I know she's newer but her work is my favorite out of all my pieces. A few friends and I stopped by this shop to get work done by her. She's been working on my wolf idea for a while now.) We came in to a nice clean place with friendly staff! She did all 3 of our tattoo's right then! And even stayed open a bit late to finish everyones! Kiristie also really seems to have passion for what she does! Jonny was great. He was able to pierce my septum professionally. It is even and is healing wonderfully. He listened to all the questions I had and provided me with plenty of info. The area was clean and organized.The reason I am giving a 3 star rating is because i was given a time to meet Jonny at the shop, and that was 7:30. I waited over an hour. On top of that, I was also given a different price than what was listed on the wall but decided to not argue because i wanted to get on with my Friday night that was already wasting away. That was king of a slap in the face after making me wait. Anyway i hope he enjoyed his $20 tip...well at least i saw it as a tip. First of all let me say that I am one of the pickiest people in the world especially when it comes to something permanent on my body. I have been going to Fat Cat Tattoo since I was 18. I got a small tattoo with a lot of detail and it still looks brand new after 8 years of living! I also got my tongue, rook, conch, tragus, cartiledge, belly button, and nose pierced here. Both of my piercers were fabulous! I have seen Johnny Die for multiple piercings and recently got 2 from Zac. Both are extremely professional as they walk  you through the piercing process. Since I left for college and returned home to Sacramento; I have gotten a number of piercings and tattoos, and I am never as satisfied with the outcome as I am here at home in Fat Cat! Terry is my guy! Talk about talent! All of his artwork is original and the color is bright and vibrant! The first piece I got from him was his original artwork for an amazing price! There is no way I could turn him down! It was a 3 hour session with 2 breaks. Terry is extremely personable, organized, and professional. If you need a break he is more than happy to pause for you to stretch! He also makes sure he fills every nook and cranny of your tattoo! His line work is smooth & solid as it should be! All of the colors have saturated beautifully these past two years! The second set of tattoos from him were done on Friday the 13th & out of all of the selections he had the largest tattoos available. I definitely love my little shadow bunny! Just recently he finished coloring in an outline I had gotten done by him a while ago. I was long overdue and he did a bang out job! It was about 3 1/2 hours in the chair because the array of color was so vast! Everything looks amazing thus far & it is still healing! I have referred many friends who have all had wonderful experiences with Terry as well! The other artists at Fat Cat are phenominal as well! Not impressed at all with the quality of my tattoo. Less than a week after getting my tattoo there it was light gray and looked like id had it for years.  Terry was my atrist and he clearly didnt care at all about what he was doing. Would NEVER recommend a tattoo there, or by him. Some of the other artists seemed better qualified but as far as I'm concerned I wouldnt recommend him. If youre looking for a piercing I highly suggest Nigel! Hes done many of ny piercings and he is always professional, helpful and puts in 100% every time. Definitely love all his work. Read Less

My husband and I won't go anywhere else for our tattoos because of the excellent service we both have had here. The artists that work here have some good skills. They did a wonderful job on my two tattoos that I currently have. It was scary when I came in for the first time to get my very first tattoo as most people are. But once I met with the artist and told him what I wanted and how I was a little nervous,  he understood and talked with me the whole time to take my mind off the little bit of pain I felt in the beginning process.
