Can't comment on the other artists here but I hear they are well regarded for the styles they specialize in. I got a cover up done by Sarah and quite happy with what we agreed on, and the finished product, which is essentially what was fleshed out on paper, no more, no less. Sarah is a no BS person, she's too busy to suffer fools and she's direct and straight to the point. That being said, she is also kind, has great communication skills, and versatile. She has been around the block with the requisite experience, yet still has the eyes of someone discovering new ways to do things and that motivation towards creativity was exactly what I wanted in someone doing a cover up piece or any piece in general. All of that without the premium of a Don Ed Hardy. And if you want a rad Hello Kitty done, you couldn't find a better place for it!She keeps a meticulously populated calendar, so I'd plan a good amount ahead of time for any "large" or complicated pieces. Jerome is my friggin hero. Love you love you love you jerome Thank you!!! I've been working with this piece on my hand with a couple of other artists that I went to on a whim. After numerous covering and laser removal  treatments trying to get it likeable, I almost gave up.   I had tried reaching out to jerome but didn't have any luck, between that and distance I had gotten impatient and ended up going else where (story above) But luckily his sweet wife which works with him now reached out to me to schedule and see if I was still interested. I was like um let me think, YES. Went in for a consultation and scheduled a few weeks later. I almost did a cartwheel out the door I was so happy with his impeccable and basically perfect work. He is an absolute elite artist imo. I love my tattoo and can finally look at it and smile. Complete proof that you get what you pay for. It was a little higher than expected but totally worth it, and honestly with the work he put into it and him just being a genuine person who really cares about his work, he deserved more. But I do think they charge on the higher side, which is a good thing. They are a quality shop. And quality is what you want. I see what happens when I try to get it done quicker or cheaper (again, story above) and it's not worth it for something life long. I had my first tattoo done by Sarah, and I absolutely love it!! I was extremely nervous for my first tattoo, and actually went through a few weeks of emailing with Sarah back and forth discussing different concerns I had with getting a tattoo in the first place, and she was very patient and very understanding with me and I really appreciated the insight that she gave me and basically the push I needed to finally commit to a tattoo! It was also very easy setting up an appointment with her, she was very accommodating, and I was able to get an appointment around 2 weeks in advance. She was also amazing with the design process - I gave her a super vague, wishy washy description of what I wanted, but she came up with something stellar that I totally loved. The parlor itself is spacious and clean. The check-in process was easy - I just had to sign a waiver (as expected) and give my ID and then I waited very briefly for Sarah to prep the room. She went over the placement of the design with me to make sure I was happy with it and made adjustments accordingly. Her room is super cute and cozy with cutouts of all her designs all over the walls which gives you a lot to look at while she's doing your tattoo. My tattoo took around an hour and half, and to my surprise, was actually pretty painless. Some mild stinging in some parts but for the most part, I didn't really feel much except for the buzzing. I don't know if that's typical for the location I got it at (shoulder blade) or if it's just a testament to Sarah's work. After we were done, she went over aftercare with me, and made sure that I didn't have any questions before I left. I had such an awesome experience, I'm already thinking about my next one! Read Less

Literally filled out paper work, my friend did not they did not even ID her or have her sign anything, yet they didn't do my tattoo nor try to ask about it. I was with two friends and they were more than happy to help them but not me. they told me they may have time to do mine and i happily said 'if not it's ok' and no response after that! This shop is AMAZING!! After years of wanting one, I finally got my first tattoo done by Jerome! He made the experience super pleasant and did awesome work. I emailed Jerome around the beginning of May with an idea for a tattoo of a Hannya mask with Sasuke's sharingan and he was able to book me for the beginning of June!He was upfront with me and told me it was definitely going to hurt, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! He let me take a few breaks here and there after focusing on the sensitive parts, but made sure to finish the area beforehand. It was also great talking to him about anime for the entire time! It definitely took away a bit from the pain.I began feeling lightheaded a bit so Jerome handed me some gummy worms to help with my blood sugar. Once, I started feeling better we got to the shading and that was probably the worst pain I've ever felt. I had to take about 4 breaks but in the end it was worth it. As I was getting the tattoo done, the other artists who worked there were also super friendly and asked about the pain in that area. I've been looking for a shop that is local to me where the vision and artistry vibed with what I have in mind for the work I want done, and the minute I stumbled upon Royalty's website I knew I had found it. I was a walk-in on a Friday evening a couple hours before close, but Julian and Jerome were super helpful and friendly, sketching out the simple text design I wanted with almost freaky perception and inking it onto me quickly. I am so pleased with how it turned out and can't wait to come back for more, more, more! The shop itself is clean and funky, with great art all over the place and a relaxed vibe that made me feel instantly at home. I should probably wait until my tattoo heals, but I had such a great experience I wanted to write my review right away. I had my very first tattoo done by Sarah and I can't imagine having my first experience done by anyone else but her.  Shes friendly, nice and very easy to talk to. (exactly the type of personality you need when getting something intimidating !)I printed out this roman numeral script I wanted to place above my wrist/forearm area and she gave me her honest advice and told me the font I wanted was too small and it could possibly blend together as time goes by. She printed a larger font for me which I agreed looked much better.  Sarah led me to her kawaii room filled with the designs she drew along with super cute Hello Kitty, Sanrio, and other cute characters figurines. Immediately I felt more comfortable. Even the bed was cute and PINK. She was very easy to talk to during the tattooing session which comforted me. I had a tattoo done by Sarah Walsworth in May 2017 and I love it.I e-mailed Sarah around mid-April with my idea of a Harry Potter tattoo, with a dementor holding a flower bouquet, in order to symbolize "finding happiness even in the darkest of times." She picked up the idea, gave me a date, and after the $40 deposit on Royalty's website, the appointment was set for May. I was pleased that I was able to book an appointment 2 weeks in advance, as I know some artists that take months for openings, so she definitely has great availability. She sent me her tattoo sketch the night before the appointment, and I asked for some minor changes relating to the shape of the dementor. The next day, I came to the shop for my appointment and she made whatever changes I requested on the spot. For those who have never been, the shop itself is very clean, everyone there is very chill and relaxing to be around, and there's a few comfy red couches, a water dispenser, and a few lookbooks to look at in the meanwhile. The tattooing area itself is very sanitary, clean, and organized. Lots of fun artwork around the shop.The tattoo, on my thigh, took about 3 hours. Sarah is very friendly and made the time go by pretty fast. She has a light hand, but my tattoo itself had a lot of shading, so I was definitely struggling towards the final hour. My review is for Sarah! I got my first tattoo this past weekend. When I first met her I came a week before Christmas and she didn't have any opening until after the New Year which was fine because it gave me time to decide on the tattoo I wanted. I showed her the birds I wanted to do on my upper back and she said she was going to design something by then. A day or 2 before my appointment I kept changing my mind on what type of birds I wanted and even adding some lettering. Sarah was very patient and super nice about it and was very responsive through my texts. The day of my appointment we revised the tattoo I wanted. She took her time to fix the drawing and sizing of my liking. The entire process was smooth and painless. For my first tattoo I am surprised that it didn't hurt much. I took off my bandage after 3 hours and no pain at all. Very clean tattoo, and even people were surprised that I had done it just that day and did not look swollen at all. What a great first experience! Sarah is amazing! I went to her and showed her a picture of a pretty word I wanted.  Evidently, it's not easy to find someone who specializes in lettering. Well It turns out that Sarah is a talented calligraphy artist in addition to being an amazing artist in general! She really listened to my requests and and then said she was going to go work on it. While I waited several people came in and requested/booked appointments with her. After around 15 minutes she came back with a collection of free-handed versions of the words that I liked.  We went forward to a private room and were done in a flash! went there for my very first tattoo years ago. i expected the service to be better. i had a simple infinity sign tattoo. the tattoo took about 10 minutes and i had to return the next day because the lines were all so off. my best friend also received a tattoo by them and her lines are JACKED ! i paid $100 for a tattoo that took 10 minutes and that i had to redo. i will never return here. He made sure I was absolutely happy with the design before getting started and for not being his personal style, he did an amazing job with the geometric line work I wanted. Came to the shop for inquiries, I've been wanting to get a tattoo of my children's bday in roman for a while now and Tito was the one who entered me, luckily he was not busy with other customer so he was able to take me right away. It's my first time getting inked, he was very nice and straight forward. He said it's gonna hurt but it depends which area. Anyways so I went ahead and I was preparing my self for the pain but I'm disappointed lol it was painful but tolerable  I though the pain is like dying pain (I'm glad it wasn't). I never actually got tattooed here but let me just put in my two cents about my struggle of trying to get an appointment. Narrowed down the potential artist I wanted  to Jerome because let's be real. His stuff is amazing. My brother and I wanted sibling tattoos and thought Jerome would be the perfect guy. Contacted him first via email and was told to text him personally. After a few exchanges, Jerome came up with this beautiful design and we were so excited. Only catch was, I'm currently living in LA and was back for only a few days. At first, he assured me that he had an available appointment for us on a day I was still in the Bay Area. However, Jerome stopped responding and got back to me when it was too late. I would've LOVED to get tattooed by such a talented artist but I'm a little disappointed in the communication or..lack thereof. :(  maybe next time I'll have better luck getting an appointment. Guess who's no longer a tattoo virgin? MEEEEEEE :)I got my lovely tattoo by Jerome and he did an amazing job. I called the shop a few days before hand to make sure there was time for Fifi on Saturday. Fast forward to Saturday morning and the whole process was smooth and easy going.The shop is located in Burlingame and it's pretty easy find with street parking available. The shop is very clean and cool. The cleanliness is definitely a plus as you don't want to be getting a tattoo at some sketchy place. I worked with Jerome for the first few minutes to get the design and logistics done. Basically, the what part. Then, comes the where part. I settled down with: Don't let the world change your 笑 - Font: Bright Larch- Inside right forearm- Middle placement- Medium sizeI was pretty nervous as I didn't know what to expect. I'm good with pain, but the anticipation of the unknown was scary. Luckily my boyfriend was there on my left to lend me his hand. On the other hand, Jerome was great at being sociable to distract the nervousness. Welp, here it goes. 15 minutes later.... DONE. Of course it hurt, but it was tolerable.It was worth it. The line work came out nice and even.When the time comes for my second tattoo, I'll definitely be coming back for Jerome. He's built my trust and his professionalism in preparation was smooth. When I came in later, he had designed exactly what I had in mind, some beautiful German calligraphy. He then took the time to adjust the design and changes I requested, did multiple presses before inking to make sure the alignment and size were perfect, and I left that evening inked with *exactly* what I had wanted. I love Royalty so much. Enoc has done such a wonderful job on my tattoos. I don't know if I could ever trust someone this much. He listens to exactly what you want but also gives his opinion on what he thinks will work best and look best but leaves it completely up to you. I walked in one day, based on a recommendation from somebody, and immediately got to speak with Jerome about an idea I had for a tattoo. My whole family comes to Royality for their great artwork. The shop itself is conveiently located and there is always parking. The shop has a great vibe to it, with Godzilla and other other cool artwork. Love that fact that it is clean (hygenic)  but yet still edgy like a tattoo shop is supposed to be. Jerome is such an artist with his custom designs that he sketches out. He is very easy going and definatley helps you envision the design you want.  He is currently working on a great piece for my husband and now I understand why each visit is important to the artwork. Its a high end tattoo parlour. There are three fulltime tattoo artists there and they all have excellent portfolios and they all do extraordinary work. Everyone is very friendly and accomodating. None of that tough, too cool for you vibe that other shops give off. They are very easy going on consultations and allow you all the time you need. I got two different tattoos and a cover up and Im really happy with the work. I totally recommend this place if youre looking for tattoo work. The place also host art exhibits/art shows on occaision.
