I have been getting tattooed for over 10 years. My old shop that I got most of my work done closed up and relocated sometime back. Other than the tattoo work itself, one of the main reasons I missed that shop was because it was very welcoming and fun talking to the tattoo crew that manned the shop. In my spare time I'd visit different shops. I came across many talented artists but the shops didn't have the vibe or connection I once had. I visited Studio 71 on my drive home. Right away I loved how the shop was decorated. Guitars on the wall and a rusted car grill and bumper converted into a wall lamp. Complimenting the decor was some traditional trio country music playing in the background, definitely my style. I had the pleasure of meeting Tom and Adrian. Very easy going and welcoming. I told them that I wanted to tattoo my wife's name on me. I described to Adrian how I wanted it drawn and he said he would have some sketches to go over with me on our appointment. Finally a week went by and it was the day of my appointment. Adrian showed me one of the sketches. My wife and I instantly loved it! He walked us over to his work area and I was super impressed with the cleanliness and organization of his station. We all chatted as he worked on me. He was great in communicating the process of the tattoo. On a side note I believe that's a great quality to have for a client getting tattooed for the first time. After the session was over he went over the aftercare of the tattoo and answered questions. Over all I enjoyed the experience and his art. I definitely plan on returning to get more work done. Tom was recommended by a friend while at another shop. We were very pleased with his work.  When we heard he opened his own shop, we immediately followed him and continued with more artwork. Between my wife and I we have had more than 15 tattoos by Tom and have been pleased every time. We are no longer in the area but will be making the hundred mile drive to continue the artwork. For real, please don't go to Adrian. I got a tattoo done by him in October and the second I took the bandage off, I cried. I originally wanted a script that said "With Pain Comes Strength" and he completely went out of the stencil I gave him, it was crooked, splotchy, and unprofessional. I called and asked for a refund and they refused. I'm now spending hundreds of dollars getting it removed because of how bad of a job it was. I am extremely disappointed and very sad. Wish I would of gone somewhere else. Now tattoos are ruined for me and I will never get another one. Again, don't go to Adrian. Read Less

I went in to get a tattoo cleaned up and put down a deposit. Tony aka Anthony blew me off for two weeks. I finally called him and he played dumb. He also said in the beginning it would be an easy fix. When I called him after the deposit two weeks later he told how my tattoo was jacked up and wanted to cover it up. For more money of course. Then he claimed how good he was 17 years of experience. After playing email games. He then claimed he wanted to do something fresh. So I came up with a new tattoo of some numbers. This is two months later! He dropped the ball! Crooked lines, jacked up one of the numbers, bad shading. Its very weak for someone with the experience he claims. Don't recommend him at all. I came in as a walk in and I told them what I wanted and they got every little detail perfect and my tattoo artist Ricky great guy, asked me how my day was and everything got my tattoo done no problem. My husband and I went to Studio 71, we had the pleasure of meeting and working with Jr. He was very nice, professional, and understanding of what my husband wanted. He was patient and walked us through the entire design, including his professional opinion on what may or may not work well on the skin and detailed description as to why.  He was very knowledgeable and patient.Jr was able to come up with an awesome theme for our daughters name. Seriously, he is a really a great artist overall with his lettering and the details!The tattoo process was smooth and efficient, we were very pleased with the artist, his work, and the tattoo shop overall. Went here for a Fundraising event for Kitty911. Got 2  tats an infinity symbol and a kitty cat. This shop is very good. They follow all legal and ethical procedure. It's very clean and well maintained. My artist Ricky Gibbs was very caring and will ask how you are doing during the process.Both look really great. Ricky is great tattoo artist he did these simple tats easily and I've seen his other pieces, I explained that I need a piece ( a butterfly 15 yrs old) that needs touch up and a  there is a new piece that I've wanted for a long time a flying Robin He seemed very optimistic and interested  about doing the work. I have been getting tattoos from both Ricky and Tom for several years now, ever since they were at their old location. Now that they have moved to this location both of their work has drastically improved. You can tell that they are happy and it truly shows in their work.The shop itself looks very clean and tidy and the color scheme is very relaxing. The lighting is wonderful and the surrounding area is nice as well. Same parking lot as the Brentwood LMC and across the street from an awesome hookah lounge and pub. And right next door to a barbershop. They fit in very well with the surroundings. I love Ricky, he's such a cool dude and he's super funny. Made me feel right at home and made sure I was 200% comfortable with how I was positioned. He talked with me about my tattoo, got insight, and was able to adjust it when I asked him to. So I have actually yet to be tattooed at this location, but I've seen Tom for 4 tattoos previously, and he always does a fantastic job! When I heard of this new shop I was pretty excited to book an appointment. I sent a message here on Yelp and got a super quick and friendly response from Kali who suggested speaking with Tom directly over the phone to book an appointment. I was also advised that the day I requested may not be able to be met as Tom books out pretty far in advance. I got in touch with him and sure enough it was about a month long wait, which is totally fine by me, but he immediately offered me alternative options for my schedule, and by the best of luck he remembered a cancellation and scheduled me for an appointment within the week! Again, I haven't had my tattoo done just yet, but every interaction I've had with the staff there so far has been exceedingly kind and accommodating and I can't wait for my appointment. :) Read Less

I've been going to Tom for 2 years now and he is amazing! I was very excited to hear about the new shop. The place is badass. They have an awesome setup, extremely clean, friendly, and they really make you feel welcome. All the artists are so talented - it's nice to see their art work in addition to the tattoos. I've never seen a bad tattoo from them yet! They also really care about their clients and always make time for them. Whether it's a consultation, help on what to buy for after care, or even advice for future tattoos, they are always willing to help. They make themselves available for any questions and they never rush you. I've gone to 3 shops for previous tattoos and this is the place I'm going to stick to. I got 3 previous tattoos at another shop. I wasn't sure what to expect going in to this new shop because there was not a lot of information about it with it being so new. But there are a lot of perks to having a new shop. It is very clean and everything in the shop is nice and new. All the artists are nice and do great work. Although the tattoo I got was not overly complicated, everyone was extremely nice and explained everything in detail. They double and triple checked that I wanted the design in the exact location and went over care instructions very well. The tattoo turned out exact how I wanted it.
