Miguel is an amazing tattoo artist, 'artist' being key. I love him! He takes a lot of pride in his work, and is a perfectionist. He spent a lot of time with me actually helping to design my tattoo. He was super patient, and really creative with the concept I wanted -- which was pretty freaking complicated. I wanted to honor so many passions in one tattoo. I love mermaids, and I love being a mother -- so I wanted my two loves combined. I wanted a mermaid who looked like me (a Black woman), had natural hair, holding two babies, seashells, etc etc etc --- but I had a million ideas and so many different pictures, I'm complicated what can I say? Anyway, it took a couple of sessions to finish my grand idea, but I'm so happy with it! He let me take breaks, get food, ask his advice. I also get more compliments on this tattoo, than any of my others. I have about 10 tattoos (prior to this newest one) and Miguel is by far my favorite tattoo artist. I got a tat from here the "artist" was Daniel he isn't consistent or professionals changed the time on my 1st appointment last min and canceled my 2nd appointment on the 1st appointment he asked me no questions about what I wanted or was thinking he just did what he wanted and that wasn't much he charged me like $360 for nothing that day he only wants to tat ppl that are just like him or his friends I hated it one time only for me Read Less

Miguel "Bounce" Perez had just started apprenticing. I went with a couple friends who were getting some work and hung out for about 6 hours. Probably not ideal for a business, but the owner was cool. It was fun seeing people around me get some beautiful work. The artists are clearly talented and so is Mr. Bouncer. He tattooed an adinkra symbol on my lower inside arm. First time coming to this shop and was highly pleased. These people are great.  The atmosphere is even greater.  They are very kind and helping  have great ideas and wanting to see you very happy when u walk out that door.  Most shops don't care give info on ur tattoos how to take care of it nothing.  These people have open hearts to welcome to u as family every customer that walked in was treated great Big or small question or tattoo. I really love my tattoo from here and the guy from the desk was really friendly. I would've given it five stars but the person who did my tattoo could've been a little more friendlier. My tattoo started leaking blood, he could've offered to clean it up for me. Plus, I had to pay 150 for something hella small, when I've had bigger for less. At least one of the employees (or maybe the owner) at this tattoo store is a truly sick human being. I am a 20 year old person 42 days sober in my extremely painful and private battle with alcoholism that's nearly killed me several times. I decided to try the new berkeley fellowship about 4 store fronts down to attend an AA meeting. I hadn't been there before and asked a group of employees smoking outside if they new where the fellowship was. They pointed me in the right direction but not without humiliating me. Especially one employee (white, tattoo sleeves, maybe around 36, with shaved sides of his head and slicked back hair on top) taunted me saying I should just get a tattoo and if I go to the meeting come back and drink beer with them and get a tattoo. He laughed pretty hard at this. I wouldn't recommend this business if you have a conscience. Read Less

Sadly I have not see Short Bus in a few years since we moved separate ways after he did my sleeve and chest, however, I can say that I get compliments all over the world on the work he did. Bus is the only tattoo artist I could find that was willing to work with my stupid schedule at the time. We did most of my work between 11 pm and 2 am on Sunday nights after the shop he was in closed. You really have to like someone to dedicate that time block to them for as long as we did. I have been to shops all over Europe, I have gotten another sleeve in the UK by amazing artists, and I would not hesitate to see Bus for another tattoo if I find myself near his shop! Read Less

Waited a while - anxiety and a tattoo in progress - enough to make me second guess my first real piecing since I was 7, but Manny did so much to chill me out: not just asking me about where iI'd come from, but also taking the time to show me how careful and by-the-book he was about sanitation and regulations and all the serious elements of piercing and tatting. Gave great advice about upkeep and care, and made me feel so good about thinking about contacting him a week later when my nosering somehow wiggled its way out in the middle of the night.
