1st experience more then 4 months ago for my nose piercing with Brittany, she is very honest and had a ton of information for post care. I had difficulty with the initial jewelry and lead me to a nose bump. I returned and she changed the jewelry and provided the best instruction, nose bump went away within days and my nose healed super quick. I decided on a whim to get a SET of piercings just yesterday, with Stephanie. This place has been blessed with 2 awesome piercers. Stephanie was professional and humorous. I had several piercings done by Nessa and she did a PHENOMENAL job! I had my previous earlobes done plus another set above those, a nose ring, and a eyebrow pierced and it went smoothly with little to no pain. Where to begin? First of all when you walk in, music is on point. I went to get my septum pierced by Nessa Rule. That woman is funny as hell, super knowledgeable and really good at keeping people calm and chill. She tells you what she's going to do way beforehand and there are no surprises. She is so light handed I wasn't even aware that she pierced my nose until it was all done. The whole shop is clean as a whistle, the bathroom is nice and I would go again in a heartbeat. I got my septum pierced here 5 days ago, and I'm so happy with it!! It didn't hurt as much as I was expecting. That being said, I would have liked it if the piercer had really made sure that I was calm and ready to be pierced. I was visibly anxious, and I had to ask her to wait a few seconds until I was ready otherwise she would have gone in right away. Still, I love my piercing and would definitely come back! Read Less

The only comment I'll make is that the hygienic standards need to improve. An autoclave to REALLY sterilize the jewelry is needed. The cross contamination in the shop that naturally occurs should tell you you need to be sterilizing at a very high level. Look at shops like industrial tattoo or rose golds for example. Teens are particularly subject to infection as they are lax in care. Let's start them off right. That said/ never had a bad experience or problem with said piercings. Read Less

I had gotten my design drawn out by an artist online and when it was done i decided to find a place close to my work that i could go to before my shift. I found Belmont and when i went in i met Chris and he worked with me and even came in on a day he normally doesn't work to do the tattoo. He did a really amazing job on it.Read Less

Clean shop friendly staff and great atmosphere. Went in after work and got two transdermals on my back....Brittany took care of me and is so gentle and precise! Attitude is everything and if  people would just smile I'd have given them 10 stars seriously!!!Took my 18 y/0 niece for a belly piercing and the good news is she loves it. The other good news is the piercing spot downstairs is nice an clean!The not so good news news is....we were so excited to go and do this together and were greeted with a non-friendly face. Our piercer too,  not super friendly or welcoming. Kinda hurry up and get this thing done type of deal, though it was a big deal to us!Just a bummer. I guess it's the vibe they go for there being a tattoo/piercing place...but I've been in the salon business for 25 years and we greet people with smiles! Call me old! I don't know just kind of a bummer. you go somewhere excited to do something and you feel like your a nuisance.Overall the piercing seems good and she said it didn't hurt...so that's great. I came here to get a conch piercing. I didn't realize it'd be such a painful one, but I also didn't expect to have to get it pierced once with a thin needle, then a second time with a bigger one. It got infected for about a month after I got it, and it is just now starting to look and feel normal (after using saline solution to clean it and chamomile tea to reduce inflammation for a month). A few other piercers at different shops mentioned that they would have pierced my conch with a straight bar, rather than a hoop - to prevent too much bacteria from getting in the fresh piercing from the hoop rotating around. Aside from the hellish potential every piercing has, the staff were very friendly and made sure I was okay before letting me leave (I was light headed for a bit). Not sure if I'd go back for another piercing. Kinda 50/50 on it. Read Less

This review is for James.  I went in to discuss pricing and details about getting a piece on my upper arm.  James explained that the price is $150 an hour or a flat rate depending on size/type of tattoo.  There's a $40 cash only deposit, though you can pay for the tattoo with a debit/credit card.  I brought in a printed example of what I wanted done - a tattoo by a different artist of a whale with hydrangea flower petals, with some minor changes in the shape of the whale's tail.  The original tattoo I saw and liked was done in watercolor style, more like a rough sketch. I explained that I don't insist on the piece to be exactly the same, and that I am open to suggestions. James looked at it and said he can do it, and that he will make a mock up for my appointment the next day. He texted me in the meantime to ask what kind of whale that was and the exact name of the flowers, so he can do some research.  I thought this was very proactive of him and I appreciate the time he took to make sure he gets it right.  The next day I came in for my appointment and James showed me his mock up.  It was definitely a little different from the original, but it was much nicer - finer lines, better shaped whale.  We finalized the size, position and colors, and we started.  The tattoo took about 3 hours to finish, all in one sitting.  James was very careful and considerate the entire time.  He changed gloves multiple times to make sure everything is sterile and clean.  At some point I asked him to make a small adjustment to the mouth of the whale, and he did exactly what I wanted.  The result is better than I imagined.  James doesn't specialize in watercolor style, his work is more traditional, but he is very good at details and doing faces, and he did a damn fine job.  My tattoo is beautiful, very elegant, very clean.  He offered touch ups and adding some shading in 3 weeks time, all included in the original price.  I would recommend James wholeheartedly.  Make sure you know what you want, and discuss your expectations beforehand.  Drink lots of water during the procedure, wear headphones (the buzz of the machine is rather loud) and be respectful to the artist.  This will ensure a good experience throughout.  Belmont Tattoo in general is great as well - clean, friendly staff, reasonable prices. I went to receive nipple piercings.  The lady who was doing the piercings is super nice.But unfortunately, a day after I received my nipple piercings, I found out that my piercings were done wrong!  Instead of being pierced at the base of my nipples, I found out that a bit of my areolas were punctured instead.Given, I personally think my nipples may be difficult to work with to begin with.  Because I naturally have puffy areolas/nipples.  And my areolas wrinkle up around the base of my nipple when they stiffen up, usually covering up the a bit of the base of the nipple itself. On the day of receiving the piercing my nipples stiffened and wrinkled up.  Right after it was pierced, the jewelry APPEARED to be at the right place - at the base of my nipple, so I didn't have any complaints when I walked out of the studio.  However, the day after, my nipples relaxed and softened.  Upon closer inspection, I found out that a the jewelry went through my areolas instead!  Moreover, one of them was actually slightly lopsided!  I removed the jewelry myself, and I want the holes to close up.  From my personal experience, I do not recommend going to this studio for nipple piercings.  But I think if your nipples aren't as puffy as mine, the results might turn out fine. Walked in for earlobe piercings and I was taken care of immediately. Brittany was very patient and knowledgeable, and answered all my questions before going through the process as I had a previously infected piercing. She made sure I was at ease and went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with what I got. It was done in 30 minutes, and the aftercare instructions given by her are very helpful. It's been 3 days and I don't feel any signs of irritation or pain and it looks great. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking to get a piercing. I'm happy I came here to get my septum pierced while visiting the Bay Area. I waited for 30min to be seen while the piercer was with a customer. Brittany was super nice! First time I actually came here was to ask about piercings - Their piercer had gone home already (she leaves 1-2 hours before closing unless she has clients booked), but the artist at the shop had great customer service about it.Next time I came back, I actually ended up getting my first tattoo :) I came in as a late drop-in and was offered to either come back later in the night or set up an appointment. I chose to come by later, and they even kept the shop open beyond business hours to do it (which was cool of them). The shop owner, Paul, was even just starting a partial sleeve when I got there.. they're definitely dedicated here. My artist was James, and he kicked ass. He made sure that I was happy with my design, size, placement, comfortable, all of it. Conversations with both Paul and James were entertaining. The shop has good vibes. I went here to get my nose pierced. I thought it was a good place because it was cheap (mistake) and close. Tanya the piercer was really cool and nice but the piercing was not. When I arrived it was all very rushed, as she had somewhere to go. I go down to the piercing room and everything needed to pierce my nose was already open and exposed to the air. I should've known right there not to get it done. The piercing takes all of 3 minutes and then I leave the shop with a piece of paper with after care instructions and her phone number. Two weeks go by and I find it is healing nicely, until one night my ring decides to get caught on my pillow and is pulled out of my nose half way (L shape ring). I have to shove it back in as it hurts tremendously. The next morning, I find a skin color, bubble type bump on the piercing. GREAT. (NOTE: this is not an infection! An infection is where puss is coming out, your face is swollen, and you should go to the hospital. This bubble means it's just irritated.) Now my piercing is irritated and I have to take extra caution. I call Tanya and she tells me to dry it out with alcohol. Do not do this. If you are healthy, your body will heal and this bump will go away in no time! There are a number of things to make sure you heal properly...diet, health, after care, QUALITY OF THE RING, and making sure make up, sweat, soaps, shampoos/conditioners, face washes or ANYTHING does not get into the piercing (to make sure this doesn't happen..always shower when washing your face and lean head back.) Anyway, the main reason I would not recommend this place is because the ring she pierced me with is dirt CHEAP.  So so so so cheap! And trust me this is important for when you are putting something into your body. I found out from a reliable source that my ring was so cheap that they don't even put a jewel in it...it is simply a piece of glass with tin foil underneath to give the illusion of a jewel. Also, the ring is very long which causes it to move a lot...constantly irritating the piercing not letting it heal properly. Bottom line...you get what you pay for. I give 2 stars because the place was clean and Tanya was cool. Just don't get your piercing here. This review was my experience meant to help others.
