I took my daughter here to get her nipples pierced for her 18th birthday. She was visiting California and I did research and came across Shawn . We felt very comfortable with him . When she got back home she started to feel a lot of pain and she went to a local piercer and he told her that her piercing was too small and that whoever pierced her should have known to put a larger bar. So she had to pay to change out the bar. I can't believe that this man has been in this business for 16+ years !!!!  Please whoever wants to get piercings here I would reconsider, because your definitely going to have to go somewhere else to get it fixed . A few months back I had my nipples pierced and everything was fine. It had been awhile and they didn't heal correctly so I went to a friend who is a piercer. Apparently the wrong type of jewelry was put into my nipples (curved barbells) causing my nipples to be pulled down. This was keeping them from healing correctly, she told me if I didn't take them out and let it heal I would always have issues with them and could get an infection. I've suffered from migraines for over 20 years and have been on migraine medication for 16 years. I called Shawn at Third Energy, he was very nice and answered all of my questions. I went for my daith piercing on Friday, and when I got there he asked on a scale of 0-10 what was my pain level....I told him it was a 9. The next thing he said was "let's get that taken care of". Shawn was very nice, he explained EVERYTHING and he made jokes to help calm my nerves. Once the piercing was done he asked what my pain level was, I told him it was about a 7. On Saturday I woke up and my pain level was a 3! That's great for me, because my pain level is usually between 6 and 9. Well, Sunday, Monday, & Tuesday I woke up and I didn't have a migraine....I usually have migraines everyday so I was really excited! I had a good experience with my first two tattoos by Justin, but Yogi is very unprofessional and it took weeks for him to get back to me on a simple tattoo, even after reaching out to him several times. I showed up to my appointment and they said he would be a few minutes late. After waiting 30 minutes, I just left and canceled my appointment. Honestly, I know theres only so much you can expect from a tattoo shop but they need to work on professionalism if they want business. People are willing to pay you for a tattoo, respect their time. Talk about a really cool, chill place. When you first walk in the building is nice a clean. Great artwork and atmosphere all over. I went in too get a tattoo by Church and man I wasn't disappointed. This guy can definitely tattoo. I got a wolf on my thigh and it's a pretty descent size. I can't speak for their piercing or tattoo work. However, I recently had my nipples pierced (by another shop) and needed to get some new jewelry to change out my piercing. I wasn't sure where to go (I am relatively new to Bakersfield) so I called this shop to ask if they sold jewelry. A woman answered the phone and after I asked the question, she responded with "Yea but he's working on a client right now." I had no idea what that meant, and waited a second thinking maybe she would elaborate, but after a few seconds of silence I responded with "So, you do carry a selection of nipple rings?". She once again said "yea he's got a few but he's working on someone right now." Not really understanding what she meant and kind of confused as to how him working on someone was even relevant, I said "well is there another store that sells nipple jewelry?" (Keep in mind nipple rings are not exactly easy to find)....she responded with "Ummm yea just go to any store in the mall." What kind of response is that? I can't believe she was even serious because obviously no you can't just get them from anywhere in the mall. Luckily they did have a Spencer's in the mall which had what I was looking for but that was the ONLY place. Her tone was rude and she didn't care about helping me. I get piercings often and I have multiple tattoos. Because of her rudeness I will probably never conduct business with them. There are a LOT of other tattoo shops that do excellent work and aren't rude. I went here to see Shawn about a nose piercing on Friday 6/2 and also wanted to inquire about the daith piercing since I frequently suffer from headaches. Third Energy is very clean and they acknowledge you right away. Shawn is very nice, professional and informative. I was concerned about getting the daith piercing right then because I currently had a headache that I had had for 4 days but decided to go ahead and get it on the side where my headache was. He did the nose first, it hurt but not terribly bad then he did the ear. Not gonna lie, it did hurt but seriously only for a second because he is so fast. He made sure he explain how to care for the piercings and also that I felt ok before leaving. And also--my headache went away as soon as the piercing went through and it still hasn't returned. I've been coming to Shawn for my piercings for about 3 years now and I love him! Really easy going, friendly guy that knows his shit! He's done 13 of my piercings now and I plan on getting more from him! He doesn't have the best jewelry selection so if you want little diamonds and stuff you might want to look somewhere else. So I absolutely HAD to write a review on this place! Let me start off by saying Shawn (Piercing Shawn) is the best of the best. A couple months back I wanted to have my nipples pierced and I went to Pretty in Ink to have it done by Maddy. Maddy pierced me, I threw up after the second one and felt extremely dizzy and nauseous I had to sit down for about 10 minutes afterward. Anyhow she used RINGS on my nipples instead of barbells and I was in pain for DAYS I mean I was literally bleeding every day for a week and bleeding through shirts and bras! I messaged Piercing Shawn on facebook to ask for some advice and he asked me what kind of jewelry she used and told me to come in for him to see them the following Friday so I went - Shawn told me my piercing was not aligned and she shouldn't have used rings. He told me he didn't want me to regret taking them out but it was entirely up to me if I wanted him just to change them out or take them out. I was in so much pain and discomfort and pretty disappointed that I had gone through all of that and I had him take them out at that point I decided I would NEVER try that again because it was so darn painful but fast forward 4 months and I wanted them done again. I booked an appointment with Shawn and told him how I was fearful about getting nauseous again he told me not to worry and just drink pineapple juice before I went in. I get to my appointment and Shawn asks me all about what happened again so I reminded him and he went to work the pain was not as extreme as it was the 1st time and Shawn made me feel so comfortable I didn't throw up or feel dizzy or nauseous at all! I went home and felt minimal pain NOTHING compared to the first time and even days after my piercing I haven't bled very much at all I have yet to see any blood on anything or when I clean them. Moral of my review is that Shawn is AMAZING and I beg you to not go to anyone who doesn't know what they're doing! I'm so glad I went through with it again with a well known professional. The shop is very clean, very comfortable and spacious, literally the best and biggest shop I've ever been in. Always good vibes in that shop!My go to artist is Reed Hammer, he's great with anything you throw at him, and makes sure you're as comfortable as possible while getting your tattoo. He's even fixed two other tattoos who I got from a previous artist, and now they look nothing short of amazing! My "go to" artist here is Reed but all of the guys that I've seen can kick out some killer tattoos at a fair price. The shop is clean, clean clean and spacious. I have my whole arm done by Reed and from sitting through hours of work I've seen Church and Justin create some amazing tattoos also, plus the guys are always custom in here.
