So happy I chose this shop! The receptionist was so nice when calling today to ask for a walk in. Our family lost a very important human to us and came in with no appointment, for a bunny tattoo. My daughter wanted to get a double nose piercing for her sweet 16 birthday.  Traditionally I would patronize Mad Dog where my oldest daughter had gotten a single nose piercing a year prior.  However when I went to confirm the piercers available, their was a new piercers who just got trained.  When I asked about her ability the lead piercer" she should know how to do a double piercing". The entire situation sounded sketchy to me.  So I decided to patronize another Sykotic Ink, reason being they provided services for a dremal and double piercing.  Although they are strict regarding allowing a minor to have a piercing with a different last name as the parents. Once the proper documents were provided, everything thing went smoothly from there on.The interior of the establishment was very warm and comfortable. All the way down to the complementary snacks. The piercing was conducted very professionally with a personal touch. Matter of fact my daughter piercing came out better then I expected! Of course my dremal looks fabulous in my fifties . Got my belly pierced here with Melissa.. I felt very rushed and didn't feel like she cared to do my piercing tbh. She did talk much or wasn't easy to talk to. She had me sign some papers and told me to fill it out and she'd "come back in a bit". The two guys tattooing were very sweet and kept checking if I was comfortable and even offered snacks/water. I was taken back for my piercing and just pre warned the piercer that I was my first piercing and was a little nervous and that I bleed very easily.. she didn't seem too pleasant . To conclude this, she didn't make my experience very memorable. She seemed like she was forced to be there... oh and my piercing never healed so I had to take it out after a month. The belly ring diamond fell out 5 days after and she said I could go after a month to get it replaced but I probably won't go back anymore based on my experience. I waited to write this review as I haven't really written one before, however, I did want to talk about my experience here. I went in for a nose piercing and was very nervous about it; Excited, but definitely nervous. The girl at the front was super nice and showed me all my options for my piercing and I even chatted with my piercer before she was getting ready. When I finally went to the back there was barely any conversation and I had even said out loud how nervous I was. I honestly felt very unease getting my piercing and the girl seemed very unattached to the whole situation. I've had both of my nostrils pierced and my cartridge with great service awhile back. Today I got my tongue pierced by a different piercer named Melissa, and it was a great experience! When I first walked in, a lady with blonde hair greeted me and was very nice and kind. She made me feel very comfortable going into my piercing. however, another lady with brown hair did my piercing. She was incredibly rude and she was incredibly rough with me and my ears are now bruised severely. She told me that you will have to buy their ear care brand or your contract will be broken and they will not help you anymore so be prepared to spend an extra $5. I won't be coming here again. Did a lot of research on artists and then came across C.J. loved her work the moment I saw it. Nice shop, everythings kept clean and the artists are fun and engaging. I cant comment on the tattoo portion of this place since I only went for my Daiths. . They also sell jewelry for your existing piercings and they will swap out your jewelry for you.. FREE if you got your piercing there (.. Atleast that's what they say) and theres a Minimal charge for the jewelry swap if you got it elsewhere (which is totally understandable) It can be kinda tricky bcuz I originally got my piercings there and they say to swap jewelry out its FREE IF DONE THERE (they didnt say if getting swapped out by the same artist) HOWEVER in my case the piercer had moved elsewhere in town.. So when I called to ask if they'd have their current piercer switch out my Daith jewelry (THAT I'LL BUY FROM THEM!) they said i'd have to pay for the piercer's time & supplies.. $20 bucks for 5 mins or less  plus a squirt or two of disinfectant wash ‍ Rather than do that I just asked around and found the guy who did my piercings to begin with and I went there for a FREE jewelry swap.. I hear from many patrons that He was Sykotic's  BESTPIERCER & INKER they had (I agree as far as the piercings go. I havent had the honor of getting inked by him just yet) Anyhow, its a decent shop with some talent. They just need to clarify with clients that the free jewelry swaps and free tattoo touch ups are between you and the artist and NOT THE BUSINESS. Yes, I do understand that noone wants to volunteer and do another artist's work and when it comes tattoo touch ups that would royally suck to waste their time and ink supplies on another artist's client but for a piece of daith jewelry - COME ON! Very unhappy with the service I got with my piercer they made me feel like I was being judged and didn't provide a very comfortable setting to get the piercing not even to do with the piercing itself even though her service needed work there too. Definitely question where she got her license at. If it hadn't been for the fact that they charged me for the piercing BEFORE providing the service I wouldn't have gotten it. She was very rude and total lack in people skills. When you are in customer service you want to provide the best service possible and I don't feel like that's what I received.  Also the after care instructions were vague and only promoted the products they cared not how to clean the area around the piercing like she said they would be. The reason for at least getting stars was definitely for cleanliness of the store and friendliness of the staff. The rest of the stars I grade was on the result for the technique in which I had to take out my piercing. I currently have 8 piercings with never having a rejection or any sort of infection. I have always been good to my piercings. I was very confused at the fact that when I was on my way out, the piercer said “if it sinks in, come back and we will change it out for you” first of all, that should NEVER be a problem. You should pierce and have jewelry long enough to have space for swelling. Also, I was not from that area, and I was not about to drive 2.5 hours for a different piece of jewelry that shouldn’t have needed to be changed. After a week, I went to a piercer in my area, and he said it was off centered and that the jewelry was too small for the amount being pierced. And that he was surprised my skin hadn’t grown over the jewelry. He gave me a 1/2” and said it should work. He was right, it SHOULD have worked. Except for the fact that again... TOO MUCH SKIN, so the ball was sinking in to my skin making a crater. I tried my best to get another piece that was longer. 3 months later of battling this, I went to get a third opinion which told me to take it out because there was so much skin that I could have 5/8” jewelry but that I would have such a hard time finding cute jewelry. I should just take it out and get it Re-Pierced in a couple of months with the correct amount of skin so I can wear anything I want. I have got to say that I am unbelievably pissed off of the amount of money that I have spent on this entire process because of a piercers error. My skin was healing and i had no migration or rejection, stated from all the piercers I went to. It was the fact of too much skin with a small bar. I really wish I could get my money back for someone’s lack of technique, that obviously cannot measure correctly. Which not just happened to me, but also my friend that went with me. - so now we are both out our money AND piercings with nasty scars that we are desperately trying to fix. Maybe nose or ear piercings are good here, but not belly. Read Less

Went here to get my nipples pierced for the second time as the first time they were done in an unpleasant way. I got $10 off for checking in, and the location was so clean and inviting. Best yet, the piercer (didn't get her name) was so quick and the pain was nowhere compared to when I got them done the first time 5 years ago. Will definitely come back for other piercings. This shop is great! Super welcoming! There's some tattoo shops here in Bakersfield where you walk in to check out what they're about and get either completely ignored or made to feel like dealing with you is a hassle for them. Not this place. Someone immediately greets you with a smile. While I was having my tattoo done, numerous people came in and the guys there are quick to greet and discuss whatever was being sought out. The atmosphere here is very chill and really clean. He took his time to talk to me about what I wanted tattooed, the placement for it, and he talked me through the whole process. Anthony has a very gentle hand and made sure that my experience was comfortable, pain free, and when I did feel the slightest pain he made sure that I was as comfortable as I could be.On top of all of that, his art work is absolutely amazing. Went in this morning and got my helix on my right ear pierced!  All the guys in there are insanely nice and super informative which makes me feel so comfortable!  Beforehand, the piercer asked me what kind of stud I wanted and told me what to do and how to clean before I even left the piercing room which was awesome.  I've been to a place before where I got my nose pierced, and the piercer almost even forgot to tell me how to clean it!  So this place was very refreshing to go to.  I'll definitely be coming back in the future whether that be for another piercing or maybe a tattoo. This is easily one of the best tattoo shops in the county! The artists who work here are so welcoming, sweet and professional. They always greet me when I come in, it totally makes my day! And they aren't rude when you ask them questions or if you ask them to adjust a tattoo or piercing! That's a total plus! I feel less intimidated coming here and more welcomed than anything. I had went to this shop on my 18 birthday and got a specific tattoo to myself and my family. The tatttoo contained only words and the artist managed to spell the most important word incorrectly.This is both my fault and the artisits. The artist did not refund my money and when asked if he could help me he gave many excuses to which i finally gave up on and moved on to another artist to help me with me issue.
