Exceptionally skilled, talented, professional and humbled artists at this shop. Welcoming and grateful toward their clients, which after visiting several shops, I found to be a nice and appreciated change. Other tattoo shops can be intimidating, and you feel like your bothering the artists that work there when you have questions. Not here! Thank you 2cents and Bare who have taken great care in my tattoos and everyone I have referred to you, for work. From this shop, I have also purchased t shirts, prints, and a beautiful original painting that i currently have hanging in my home.(i will eventually add a photo of this stunning piece by 2cents) Each is made with care and highest quality materials, and captures the natural talent and abilities of these 2 men. The shop itself and work area is always clean, and they have latest state required testing, sterile training and licencing requirements posted up on their walls. Which being a germ-a-phobe, is comforting.When you are paying an artist hourly, its important to not feel like your paying for he or she to take phone calls, book other appts, use the toilet, or the dreaded "15 min smoke break". These guys only charge you when that tattoo machine is running!There has been times, I have asked to have artwork redrawn, changed or even scrapped, without any charge, extra deposit or hint of annoyance. OK, that is a little bit of an exaggeration. I can be kinda annoying sometimes when it comes to my tattoos, but it's a mutual understanding and my ideas and opinions are always well received.Obviously, some ideas are not going to translate well into a tattoo. These guys can make suggestions and modifications to an idea that you think maybe a great idea for a tattoo, but in all actuality, its not. With theyre experience, and proffessionalism they will let you down easy when have and idea that will not translate well into a tattoo. Neither will let make a bad decision on their time or a tattoo that they did. They take pride, and great care to insure you leave with a stunning new piece and a great experience as well.At this shop, you don't have to worry about either of these artists coming in for your tattoo appt hung over, high or intoxicated (sadly, ive seen and heard of this problem happening w/ other artist) Neither artist drinks or does drugs. This could be why they seem to have a large following of ALL types of law enforcement. So, if this is what you do, check these guys out! You will be pleasantly surprised at the amount of respect and gratitude they have for men and women in your line of work. Not too mention, they are only 2 blocks from the jail on L st.! Super easy access after you drop off the bad guys.. I have been collecting tattoos locally for 10+ years and Fundamental Ink is a breath of fresh air in the bakersfield tattoo scene. I can't say enough great things about it. Experience, application and product are all top notch!! I hope you take the time to see for yourself. Thanks.

They take any challenge and always do better than imagined. I've gone here for all 4 of my tattoos and always leave super excited and in love with my newest addition. Never a dull moment. Wouldn't trust any other person to tattoo me!! Thank you Bare!!

Every tattoo I have is done by 2Cents. I've been going to 2Cents for the past 5 years and have never been dissatisfied with his work. Often I find myself going to him with half an idea and leaving the rest to his creative inventiveness. The shop small, but it is a uniquely artistic atmosphere that bolster's 2Cents and Bare's originality. Both artists are always open to the client's input and wishes when it comes to their permanent art.Don't let the size of the shop fool you. Both of these guys take every precaution and make sure to thoroughly sanitize everything. They are knowledgeable about the business and the products. The only way you will find yourself in a spot is if you don't follow their instructions. From my experience through my career and personal life I've spent a lot of time in hospitals and medical facilities. I can say that both artist's practices are on par or better than any medical facility I've been to, and certainly any other shop I've seen.anything you get from these guys is well worth the price. You won't be disappointed by the service and product.

I have been getting tattooed by 2cents for 4+ years and 100+ hours now and have never had a single complaint. The shop is always clean, all equipment and working surfaces are thoroughly sanitized, and both artists have infection prevention techniques that not only rival a hospital setting but are also far better than nearly all tattoo shops I have been in. To some, the shop may seem small but I prefer that much more than a cluttered, loud, super crowded shop. Here you can kick back, talk a little trash, watch some movies, and get some amazing work done.2cents is one of the best artists in CA in my opinion and happens to be local in Bakersfield. Not only that, but the other artist at the shop, Bare, is a damn prodigy and produces incredible work as well. These guys charge for only the time that needle hits skin...they do not include setup, breaks, etc. like some other artists do. If you live in or around Bakersfield, I don't see how you can do better than making an appointment with 2cents or Bare. You will be extremely happy with the outcome. Just make sure to get in for a consult and book your time soon. With artists of this caliber, you know their schedules will be booked up pretty quickly!

I have been getting tattooed by 2cents for 4+ years and 100+ hours now and have never had a single complaint. The shop is always clean, all equipment and working surfaces are thoroughly sanitized, and both artists have infection prevention techniques that not only rival a hospital setting but are also far better than nearly all tattoo shops I have been in. To some, the shop may seem small but I prefer that much more than a cluttered, loud, super crowded shop. Here you can kick back, talk a little trash, watch some movies, and get some amazing work done.2cents is one of the best artists in CA in my opinion and happens to be local in Bakersfield.
