i found this shop on instagram and decided to message kyle about a tattoo i wanted and he was super easy to communicate with and drew a beautiful design for me and i always get compliments on it! i now have a couple tattoos done by kyle and even brought my boyfriend in to him. all the guys here are welcoming and lively. i'm not a huge fan of the decor in the shop like the old couch in the front and the animal heads on the walls, which is why i'm giving 4 stars but i'd definitely recommend this shop to people. Black shamrock tattoo is definitely one of my favorite places to get a tattoo. Yesterday was my first time going there and I must say its very clean and everyone that works there is very polite. I never leave Yelp reviews but in this case I had to. I've been looking for a place in Bakersfield that can do some solid solid American Traditional work. I looked around for a while and finally came across Zach's IG (budha_tattooer) and was really impressed by his work. I shot him a message and got a spot the next day. I sent him a reference and told him to add his own flair and feel free to do whatever came to mind.Before showing up to the shop he sent me a message saying he was going to grab some food prior to our apportionment so there was no rush. I appreciated it because he let me know prior that he might not be there and I as well wanted to grab some stuff.I show up to the shop and the other artist let me know he was still out but I could go inside and hang out. Went inside and took a look around the shop, all the art work on the walls confirmed I finally found the spot I've been looking for!Zach arrived and greeted me, we talked for a bit and he let me know he was going to set everything up. I was super happy with his sketch and him as a person; down to earth, nice, easy to talk to, just felt like someone you have known for a long period of time right when meeting him.Everything after that is just your typical tattoo, lay it on, check it out, start the tattoo. His work was super clean and came out so much better than I could have ever imagined.Even while tattooing the other artist ran to the store and snagged me a drink, they didn't even hesitate just asked and got it no problem. Overall my experience was 5 stars, grade A+. Work was awesome, price was more than fair (if anything I should have paid more), and overall shop vibe was great. First of all, I did not know anybody in this shop before getting my work done.  I needed a cover up tattoo and knew I was limited on what could be done. I walked in the shop earlier this week and met Jimmy.  Showed him what I needed to cover and told him what style I wanted and told him to do whatever he thinks would be best.  Jimmy gave me a bad ass cover up tattoo of a Spartan helmet with spears.  I could not be happier with it. I had a drawing done by my brother. I took it in, showed It to Bob. He said " No problem." I went back for my appointment. I was greeted warmly by all the staff. I emailed the drawing to Bob, he printed it out and asked if it was to my satisfaction. It was and he had me take a seat. He did the outline of the pattern and began shading. It was not as painful as you'd think a tattoo of this size would be. He has a very light hand, knows his craft and when he was finished, I couldn't of been happier. Bob went over the after care instructions, answered the few questions I had and asked again if he'd covered everything? I highly recommend Black Shamrock. After doing some research, I decided to choose Jimmy as my tattoo artist. The parlor itself is very clean, and the staff was very nice. When I first walked in I met with my tattoo artist, we agreed on a design and I filled out the forms. Through out the time I was there, Jimmy was very polite, made conversation, and made my time there enjoybale...well as much enjoyment one could have while needles are being puntuctured into your skin. Anyway, overall the artists here are very talented, the shop is clean, and they follow sterile procedures and give great aftercare advise. My girlfriend and I recently stopped by and got our first tattoos here. By far the best first tattoo experience we could have asked for. We were swiftly greeted in the most professional and friendliest of manners by our artist, JOSH. With out a doubt this shop has the best vibes in all of Bakersfield and fair prices. You definitely get what you pay for and then some. Outside of providing great customer service JOSH was truly the coolest guy. Terrible shop my personal art was used on other people and your artist denies copping it but when you look at mine versus the copies you can see how it was copied 100% even the part I purposely drew backwards if your artist Jen didn't coppy it then why is the Flagg on both copied ship tattoos backwards ? Best Tattoo shop in town IMO. Wayyyyy better artists than the dives downtown that specialize in Vato tattoos. Way better than Sykotic Ink, which gave me the worst tattoo I have ever had.
