So I've been going to Jing for over 3 years now. He has done my half sleeve and just started a large side piece. I always have an amazing experience when ever I come into the shop. I am not a creative person and am not always the best at explaining what I want my tattoo to look like but Jing always amazes me with the designs he has made for me!The pricing here is very reasonable, he charges per session vs per hour. Personally I prefer that because then no one feels rushed to finish the tattoo in a set time. Jing gives you as many breaks as you need and is always checking to make sure you're doing ok.All the guys in the shop are nice and funny and keep a relaxed environment. Everything is super clean, constantly changing gloves, everything coming out of sterile packaging, and any surface you're laying on is covered in plastic after being sanitized. Wow. Just wow. I actually left crying happy tears because it was way better than expected. The idea and sketch I wanted wasn't gonna fit on my collarbone the way I initially wanted but Jing figured out a way to keep it my idea and the writing I wanted but also making it fit. Jing also was perfect on giving me the breaks and relief I needed. He was patient and took his time through the whole process making sure I remained comfortable. He could tell I was nervous and did everything he could so I didn't freak out. I am beyond impressed with how professional he was. And the tattoo came out even better than I picfured. I went here a year ago to get a koi piece, it was done very well. the price was decent at about 100$ a hour. so i came back to do wings as a chest piece. jing grossly over estimated the price of the piece. we settled on 1500$/ 500$ for 3 sessions.I had no clue how long it would take so I agreed. the first session was the outline which he did in 1.5 hours and I gave him 500$. the second session he shaded my right wing which only took him 2 hours, I asked if it was only going to be 200 or so because of how fast it was done and he said "no it's the agreed upon price. he could have easily done the other wing and I would've been happy walking out of there with my tattoo done and having paid 1000$ total for 5.5 hours of work which is still grossly over priced at 200 a hour, I cannot stress enough the fact that the design is very simple and was not necessary to charge this much.so naturally trying to make money off me he laughed and said "no we're done for today, we'll schedule your final session".he wanted me to pay 1500$ for 5.5 hours of work total. I was a returning customer, someone who just wanted to be treated fairly. I have no problem paying a lot if something is intricate and takes time. you are not worth 300$ a hour and I'll be getting my tat finished elsewhere. this guy is a crook. definitely don't recommend him Read Less

I came to Nice Guy 12 days ago for a tattoo. I got a very simple design done by Jing. The experience was very pleasant and welcoming, he's a very nice guy, but the problem is my tattoo itself. The lines are not straight and he didn't complete the edges of the design. He went over the same spots too many times (I assume to get the color in) and he scarred me over most of the tattoo surface. The ink healed quickly, just over a week (my skin heals fast) and I didn't pick or mess around with the scabbing, as I might be blamed for in this situation. I was just as careful with this one's healing as I have been with all 6 of my other tattoos. I suppose this could be an allergic reaction to the ink however I am doubtful. The studio clearly has great reviews so obviously people are happy but I am not. In fact very regretful I came here, however nice and accommodating he was, the result is less than great. Read Less

I been going to Jing for all my work for the last 14 years and only trust him with any type of tattoo work on my body. He always takes he's time to make sure you get what you want. He's honest very talented and very funny. Jing makes sure you have a great experience while getting your tattoo. He always goes out of he's way to make it perfect the first time. When someone starts talking to me about the angle at which your eyes are going to perceive the features of my chosen tattoo, I know I've come to a place that takes their work very seriously. After being  tattooed by Jing, I realized the spirt of the tattoo  meant as much to him as it did to me. I liked that. Jing explained the whole process from inception to completion in such detail that I left his shop with more than a passing knowledge of what goes into a good tattoo. Nice guy tattoo is definitely the best tattoo shop I've been to. I had work done previously at a different shop and ended up with a tattoo that I wasn't happy with. I stopped by to watch some serious artwork being done on my buddy.  His whole back is tatted up with crazy amazing artwork that symbolizes his life.  As I was just hanging out and chilling, I've got to know the owner-Jing very well.  Hella cool man.  Another gentleman was getting his arm tattooed by another employee and he was very satisfied after the tattoo was completed.I got this Michael Jordan (My back kick) looking tattoo on my right shin.  Thinking about doing some more work on it-needs to be something Tupac like with a L.A. feel. I feel bad rating this place 1 star, but my experience here was pretty much the worst. I went in with my sister for my 2nd tattoo and her 1st.Her guy was an absolute gem, nice, helpful, and considerate of it being her first experience. If I was to rate her experience, I would give Nice Guy Tattoo 5 stars no question.My tattoo artists was a total jerk.I wanted to get a tattoo created that was some combination of a globe and a soccer ball. My guy tried a little--for like 5 minutes in the back, but told me it was basically impossible. So I decided there was another, much simpler option which I was also considering--a map of the world.He basically told me it was a ridiculous tattoo. I'm not going to judge other people's tattoos but I find it hard to believe this was the worst tattoo he'd ever done. Even if it was, am I wrong to assume he could keep his judgements to himself?Anyways, the tattoo ended up taking a total of 5 minutes and the entire time he made comments about how stupid the tattoo was. It was a really horrible experience and if I had more balls I would have just asked for the other guy to do mine as well, but I felt like it was some kind of tattoo shop ethics to not do that. Maybe he had a bad day, but he definitely made my experience miserable. I wish I remembered names (this was over 6 mths ago), but I would say be careful who you get when you go in. Read Less

I brought my little sister and cousin to get their matching tattoos here. These group of guys are nice and funny. I first learned about this shop through my marine friends who have been here to get their tattoos done. Brandon (or Brad. I forgot his name, opps) came over to help my sister and I. He was very knowledgable and pleasant. He definately put my sister at ease, a virgin canvas at the time. Luckly, he took her in that night and my sister was very happy with the outcome of her tattoo. I had intentions of getting a tattoo ever since I had hit 18. I had a couple of friends with recommendations of where to go and my friend Jimmy randomly searched up a place on Yelp and we found Nice Guy Tattoo.Decided to go check out the place and Jimmy ended up getting one right then and there. Cary Kandarin did his tattoo and I absolutely loved the art. A couple of days later my friend Andrew got his done at the same place by the same artist. Amazing, amazing guy.Great place. Great atmosphere. I had my appointment set up the next week and Cary did an excellent job. He knows what he's doing and it shows. Brilliant artist and a really nice guy.
