I would like to start by saying i came in to get a tattoo covered up a few tips -bring in copy ( on paper ) Saves (you)money and makes his job easier - take breathes -bring headphones I've been told that my tattoo before coming in to get it looked Like California Texas and a rougher looking Texas. Coming to Ricky was the best idea, he did way better then I could have wished for, it was quick and easy  don't ever retire Ricky and if you do please have a successor! I looked up the reviews on Ricky's shop before popping in. Just from reading, I knew to bring a print out of the tattoo I wanted so I can save $30. Also he charges per minute. My piece took about 5-7 mins to do and I paid $40. This place is great for small, simple pieces which are really trending right now. Come here and treat yourself this Christmas. Amzeing work done to cover my sons arm scars honestly they are not noticeable Ricky did amazing on placing tattoo on the right spots. Ricky is affordable and his work is great. He was done in 15 min and paid $60 and tattoo came out amazing. I have gone in the past to a tatto shop in Hayward where I paid $300  and they take 2 hours to put some leafs on stomach and there work is not as great. The good part here is! His so fast so less pain, but the bad part is ! The detail is not that good because he got paid per mins so he need to do it faster!if you want a simple and affortable tattoo that is not fully detailed. you can come here and its really reasonable price! Great place to get your first tattoo. Just a warning, know what you want before you go there because Ricky doesn't have the patience to wait around or chit chat about tattoos. Bring a clear photo and tell him the size that you want. He will be ready to go in a matter of minutes and you will be out the door soon after. Came into Ricky's for a quick tattoo with myBest friend before I fly back to my new home in Texas. Literally LOVE Ricky. He's quick, good, and cheap. My best friend and I have gotten several tattoos from him - all of which we've designed ourselves and brought in artwork for him to copy, so I cannot attest to his artistic skills; but looking through his books and the thousands of pictures he's got posted all over the walls tells me they're on point.I don't like chatty tattoo artists or ones that make things complicated. Got my grandmother's name done on my forearm when I was underaged (17). My mom was there, he had her sign consent for it. She had beautiful work done by him, so we didn't expect such a horrible outcome.The cursive was shaky, the letters were uneven, and it took him less than 5 minutes?! Maybe I caught him having a bad day? I seriously cried that night, & had to wait to turn 18 for a reputable shop to fix such a botched tattoo.I'm surprised this guy is still in business, his work is seriously horrible. I see pictures & can't believe people are proud with his symmetry and line work. I was a young kid, but now I can't believe me (or my mom) went to someone who tattoos children. To each their own, if you want to pay $20-$40 for a tattoo.... Most shops have a $100 minimum, but then again they have a quality (and legal) business. Read Less

I went in for a tattoo cover up and was pleasantly surprised by his speed and the beauty of my tattoo. Not to mention the detail I was able to get in a cover-up, without looking like a cover up! My brother in law took his then gf and I to Ricky's (spontaneous trip). His shop is pretty plain & small but he is extremely quick and gets the job done. My BIL's then gf got her sons footprints done on her back, took him 20-25 mins (outlining and shading) & paid $40 but she didn't really seemed to be pleased with it. (Guessing it's one of those, "you get what you pay for" deals for her) I got a quote on my shoulder blade. It took about 8 mins, paid $10 or $15.. I can't remember but it was cheap & painless.Ricky checks ids 100% and (from the sign inside his shop) is allergic to the smell of weed. This review is long due. I designed my own tattoo and had Ricky trace it and put it on me. He did a good job at making my design look nice and it still look nice even after a year almost. He even knew how I wanted it on my shoulder because of how I designed and visualized it. It was paid by time but he did it in 15 minutes and I only paid $50 bucks which was awesome :D Read Less

Ricky did an amazing job! I was skeptical about him doing my tattoos freehand... But the finish product was better than I expected! I wanted to cover up an old dragon tattoo. The picture I brought- he told me would only cover up about 70%. I didn't understand what he meant, so he drew me an example on paper. Ricky is amazing . My first tattoo I got from him is a Phoenix on my left forearm , covers about half of the forearm and took him only 25min. Cost me $80 and to my surprise that   Is so cheap and he did a really awesome job on it . It was my first time getting tats and I don't know how the tipping works but I have him an extra $20 and he was really happy about it . Great deal , good tattoo and he works really fast . Came here for the first time not thinking of getting a tattoo yet, but got one anyways. When I first stepped into this place the surrounding looks pretty plain, there was a granny wandering back and forth behind the counter, makes me think that this place could be a Chinese mafia hideout or something so they have a granny on watch to cover up..... Okay I am wandering off too far with my mind! Anyways, no appointment needed, just walk ins, first come/decide first serve. If you got a picture for him you should print it out first or else he will ask you to print it out at a nearby printing shop. Ricky is friendly but he's a quiet guy, he works fast and the price is cheap. I got my tattoo done in 8 minutes and it only cost me $30. I was fortunate enough to have all my art done by Ricky. I have never seen any of my pals get as many compliments on their work as I do. I have been wearing his art on my skin for 15yrs. I get new art every five years. I have never noticed a change in the origanal quality of the ink. Most people tell me that over time you should see the art fade some what. I have not experienced that at all. It has been another five years and it is time to go see Ricky again. You cant get a more reliable cooler guy to share their take on art with you. There is alot of hype on TV with bald, billie bad "booty" tattoo artists out for rebellion and such. Yeah ok. Not here.
