My eyebrows have always been thin, so I wanted to try an eyebrow tattoo or microblading so that I don't have to use eyebrow liner every day. I was referred to Ruth by a physician friend who said that RUTH SWISSA IS THE BEST!  Ruth has two locations, one in Beverly Hills and one in the Valley. I liked that she offers different pricing, making the Valley more affordable. She has a very nice office/spa in both locations. She did my eyebrows and was very kind, making me feel comfortable. It went by fast and didn't hurt that bad, but I took a painkiller to be safe and more comfortable. I actually brought clip on bangs to go out that night in case they looked too dark, but they looked great and I didn't need the bangs to conceal the eyebrows. I then did the touch-up within 2 months and now 2 more months later, they look great! Perfect for going out without makeup and I can use a smidgen of brow liner if I want to amp it up on a big night out if there's going to be lots of photography.  My mom thinks they look great and is going to get Ruth to do hers now too. I am also going to have Ruth put some permanent makeup on my lips, so I can go out with just lip gloss, and not be concerned that a guy might tell me that I "need lipstick" like a nagging ex-boyfriend told me once! I went to Ruth to Camouflage my scars.  Litterally for people who are in the same boat when I say she has been life changing she has. I can't tell you the amount of people I've gone to and the amount of money I've spent but I was willing to do whatever I could and I finally found someone that was able to help me. Over a year ago I had my eyebrows tattooed by Ruth. She was very nice and convinced me of her work. Plus her reviews had me convinced I had picked the best in the field. The tattoo didn't last at all and from the first day it didn't look natural. She retouched them and it was no better. She said it was because I have tough skin, in other words not her fault. I resorted to everyday drawing over her work with an eyebrow pencil as I quickly watched the tattoo fade within months. $500 dollars lost. I feeling foolish I fell for her continuos talk about how great she is at what she does. She also spoke poorly of others in her same line of work. I am a Breast Cancer Survivor twice. I had to have a Radical mastectomy on the left and 3 years later I had to have a Mastectomy on the right. I went to her to use the temporary 3D areola's and they were so real like. I wore them for a couple of months until I wanted to make it real. I have a very light lip line that seemed to blend away into my skin and often times I felt the need to wear lipstick to be able to show off my naturally full lips.  I spent some time researching permanent makeup artists in a 50 mile radius and I was pleased to come across her work on her website.  I noticed she had an eye for great shape and most important, she emphasized keeping things natural.  The pigments she uses are organic.  When I met her for the first time, I felt her genuine kindness and warmth.  She took her time to understand what it was I was seeking for color and shape.  I took some photos in as well.  I let her know I want to keep everything natural looking and simply enhance what I already had.  She went to work first by outlining my lips then proceeding to use her tattoo device.  She was very careful and thorough throughout the entire process.  She was gentle and numbed me several times to make it more comfortable for me as I have sensitive lips. When I was done, it looked like I had evening red lipstick on.  She had already told me in advance that this is part of the process and that it would leave behind a very subtle color in a couple weeks.  After some peeling and healing, she was absolutely right.  I had asked for natural and that's exactly what I got.  My lips appeared fuller and I was very satisfied!Today I went in for a touchup.  She took a look and suggested we go with a brighter cherry wine color.  I thought it was a great idea and knowing it would result in a VERY subtle natural color I went for it.  I've uploaded onto yelp the photo of my lips immediately after the procedure today.  It will look like I have red lipstick on for a week or so then the color will gradually fade into a light subtle tint.  For the before picture, take a look at my video testimonial @ruthswissapermanentmakeup on Instagram.  I went with a combination of nude/mauve.  You'll see that my lips were very natural in color and close to my original shade, as I requested.  I will follow up with a photo after 2-3 weeks so you can see the final result.  Ruth is a wonderful artist and person.  She helps breast cancer survivors by reconstructing their areolas using a micro pigmentation technique.  She has studied art for years and you can see her paintings hanging on the walls of her Agoura Hills office.  She is exactly the type of person you want to have when it comes to something as important as your face.Thank you for everything, Ruth!
