I've had 3 tattoos done here. Each by different Artists (Kendall Harley, Nick Pierce, & Matt O'Baugh). Matt and Nick have since started their own shops down the road. Best of the Best! And to whoever thinks this place is "overpriced" or "too expensive", you get what you pay for with tattoos. These are quality works of art. They actually like to take their time & put their talent to use while also giving you what you want, not just copying a picture of a tat you saw someone else get. These are with you your whole life. Went in for a simple inner ankle tattoo. The guy who I dealt with nonchalantly informed me that "you guys don't do outlines" with out even understanding what it was I wanted done. I went to the Golden lotus in 2013 to get a cover up of a tattoo I've had for years.. drove 4 hours... and had scheduled my brother a tattoo as well as a gift for graduation. I described what I wanted in very little detail.. long story short, I got there... the design Kendal drew up for me was amazing! While he worked on my brothers tattoo, I walked around, visited with the staff, and even decided to get a spur of the moment piercing. My brothers tattoo took a little longer than expected... instead of asking us to reschedule like I expected, Kendall stayed super late to work on my tattoo. I had a mediocre (to be generous) owl tattoo from many years ago --- while working a tattoo show in Pennsylvania, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Chris Thomas. After a brief chat and him looking at my existing tattoo, Chris received my 150% confidence in his ability to make my original vision for the piece come to life. WOULD PUT NEGATIVE IF I COULD! Harrassed and threatened of violence by these people over social media. Worst business I've ever encountered. Horrible people who have no respect for others. I set up the consultation, eager to start my piece, I was all but ready to drop close to three grand after it was all said and done (over time of course, also lifelong customer in the making.) Knowing I was more than ready, already picturing the one on my arm like it was already there, I paid the deposit before I left the minute consultation. (Which from where I'm staying in LR is a good over an hour drive with the traffic after work.) I messaged Chris asking simple questions about what we discussed in consultation. (Every time I called, no one answered.) Never once did I mention I wasn't happy, I repeated many times that it is in his hands since he's the artist. I didn't want to come off as "this EXACTLY what I want and I WANT it regardless if it looks bad in ten years!" I wanted communication, input, collaboration as it is a team effort to create what is in one persons mind and creating it with the skill of another. Well apparently after that either Chris decided he didn't have the skill set to do so (which he should have told me before accepting my deposit) or something else to that matter as he replied he will no longer do my project. To get my refund back I had to drive over an hour in LR rush hour traffic after being threatened (stating he screenshoted everything so I can't give a bad review.) Well that was all fine and dandy, until I show up... and they were then EXTREMELY rude to me. Also tried to keep me in the store until I gave them my personal information like my driver's license, address etc... when I had absolutely no service done by them and they didn't require any of that when they took my deposit. I left a review on their page with the screenshots of how he treated me, the full conversation to show I was nice and respectful and just putting my full experience out there for others to make of it what they would. Chris Thomas, his wife and about 150 other people harrassed me online for about 6 hours. Threats of violence, law suit for deflection of character (or whatever it's called) from my review, saying I needed my uterus stomped, and since I did not give a reaction to any of their continued cruelity, they started tagging me in their comments until I blocked them all. Chris the owner is a douchebag​! I witnessed him yelling at a girl because she was scared of a tongue piercing, while he was tattooing me. His work is not great, just ok at his best. He is too cocky. He thinks he is better than what he is, and he is very overpriced for his work. Read Less

I use to go to this place to get my tattoos before my tattoo artist moved to the most amazing shop Diamond State Tattoo. I walked in though to see an artist I had used once and they were all rude. The owner Chris was very disrespectful and the whole place just seemed very unprofessional and I won't ever go back. I asked if Kendall had time to do a tattoo and an artist there looked at me and said "can't you see he's busy" And then everyone else just was absolutely rude and after that my husband and I walked out! I got my first tat here by Matt Thomas about nine years ago and it still looks great. It started out as a simple cross, but Matt continuously came up with creative ways to texturize and shade the tattoo making it unique so that by the time it was finished it was completely one-of-a-kind. We took a break half-way through the tattoo, and I could have gone home then and been happy with it. I've gotten lots on compliments on the cross. Went in just to price a tattoo today, and in the process not only did the lady quote me an outrageous price, she also insulted a tattoo I have and have gotten more compliments on in that any other tattoo I have. Word of advice Golden Lotus, insulting a potential clients tattoos is NOT a good way to get business. I would definitely NOT recommend this business to a friend based solely on the fact of how unnecessarily rude the tattoo artist was to me. After being told to go to Empire tattoos to see a guy named JP I wanted to explore my options and come speak to Chris about getting a tattoo. He was very very rude to me. I was very taken back. I was trying to explain the idea I had in mind and before I could even explain my full thoughts he interrupted me and shot it down basically telling me it was stupid.  He said he was to good to do something like that and he just wouldn't! First off I am the customer it is my body if I want something done then he should do it. That is his job. As I would be a paying customer. He acted like he was too good and talented to do anything that I had in mind. I'm sorry but if you are that talented and good then you can make what I want look the best. He told me my idea was trashy so I will go elsewhere and never go back to that place. He made me feel very unwelcome. Very very disappointed  I did go to empire like others have suggested and JP sat down with me and exlpored my ideas was super nice !!!! He had great ideas and didn't try to shoot me down and make me feel stupid for what I wanted. He embraced it. I just went here and had a question about a piercing that I received here and one of the staff members, Chris, was very rude and unprofessional. After being yelled at in front of other customers and being put down, I just walked out and went down the street to Black Cobra Tattoo Studio. I discovered Golden Lotus when I was looking for someone to cover an old, outdated tattoo for me, and I was so incredibly pleased with the whole experience that I have gone back for several more. The artists are phenomenal, and always give you exactly what you are looking for- they can sketch out any idea that you bring to them, and they listen to your input before placing ink. Customer satisfaction is their priority. When it comes to cover ups, they are honest about what can or cannot be done to alter the existing piece--they will not compromise on artistic quality or client gratification for the sake of money. (I have been to places where they'll put out crappy ink just to make a dollar without caring about how it looks on you. This is NOT one of those places!) As far as piercings go, they are second to none. Their piercing experts are very knowledgeable about placement and procedure, and are available to help you if you have any problems in the healing process. I have been very happy with every piercing that I have received from them. Overall, I must say that I highly recommend Golden Lotus to anyone wanting the best ink or piercings in our area. Currently, I have one more session to finish a full sleeve and the beginnings of a back piece; I've found their prices to be more than fair. You're paying for top notch artwork to be impeccably applied to your body forever. I am military and I have been all around the world and I have a lot of tattoos but I would have to say as far as the quality of the tattoo it is the best one I have ever gotten and I will schedule my tattoos in the future and fly or drive the 730 miles to come back. As far as the parlor and equipment it is super nice and clean and when you leave you don't feel like you have been in a nasty environment and you need a shower it is just rowdy as heck and Chris Thomas is a cool dude he done my tattoo and the price was great.
