I was in Arkansas for a family vacation and decided that I wanted to get my first tattoo. After some research I found this tattoo shop. I was thoroughly impressed! The artists were really patient considering I barely knew what I was looking for but they just kept working with me. I had a basic concept but am not a very good artist myself, therefore I asked one of their artists to draw me an original. I fell in love with it. Carl McReynolds did my tattoo design and work. He was extremely professional and wanted to work with me to make the experience as smooth as possible. He pays attention to detail and kept a conversation going so that I didn't have to sit quiet for an hour. The shop itself was extremely clean and professional. My wife and I both had work done here by Mark Bennett.  He did fantastic work!! He was very helpful with design and placement.  His line work is crisp, his saturation was packed in and clean, his needle depth is spot on. Between my wife and I, we had an original, watercolor, piece designed by him, a script piece, a small minimalist geometric tattoo and he cleaned up, and vastly improved, a couple of messy pieces done by a different artist at a different shop.  He handled each piece with the same professionalism and care. I really can't say enough good things about this visit. The vibe in the room is chill, the parlor is clean, the people are friendly, the artwork is fantastic. Getting a tattoo, a permanent piece of yourself on display for the world to see, SHOULD be a pleasant experience.  This is the first (of many) tattoos that we've had done that came with fond memories. My best friend, her mom and I came in last minute wanting several little tattoos. This was a very important day to all of us and getting a tattoo was going to help us get through that day. We had already been to another shop and that particular other shop was rude as hell from the get go! We came into Diamond state and they were very nice! Carl did mine and did a FANTASTIC job! This is a tattoo parlor for people who don't like tattoo parlors; they discourage the "rockstar" or "biker" persona and attitude in the shop and instead have a bunch of down to Earth artists with a very chill atmosphere. My mom decided she wanted a tattoo last minute at 9:00 on Saturday night and after being told by one tattoo shop that she couldn't get in for atleast 2 weeks and just a rude no by another (because they closed at 10), we called diamond state and explained to Carl what she wanted done and was told to come on out. We arrived at 9:30pm (with the shop closing at 10:00). Not only was Carl super nice, he stayed 2 hours after closing time in order to finish my mom's tattoo for her an...d not once did he complain! In fact, he was more than happy to have stayed late and finish her tattoo, which turned out AMAZING! For this being our first time to go to Diamond state, we were thoroughly pleased and will recommend Carl McReynolds from here on out! Get asked all the time: Where did you get tattoos? Where should I go? I say, "Do you want the best or just a regular tattoo?" This place really is the best I've found in central Arkansas. I drive over an hour to get there and don't plan on going anywhere else. Besides the friendly, polite, and clean atmosphere; this place just has wide variety of artists who have there own styles and skills. They are all good. ... like really... really good. Before you go to the closest shop...... please...Please! Go by diamond state tattoo and talk to them for a minute! I had my tattoo done by Chelcie. She did a phenomenal job. I've had other tattoos done before but this was my 1st one that had a special meaning behind it. It was for my beloved sister who lost her courageous fight with cancer in Oct. Chelcie listened to what I was looking for and sketched exactly what I wanted and needed. She was very professional and has tremendous talent. The whole atmosphere there at the shop was calm and helps put your mind at ease if you are a little nervous about getting a tattoo. I've been into a couple of different tattoo shops before being an x-modified doll, Diamond State Tattoo shop is unlike any shop I have ever been in!! The atmosphere is super comfortable with music that fits the mood. It's CLEAN! And best of all they are ALL extremely professional in there. Meaning you could go in there and not feeling uncomfortable because of the language, music or because no one will speak to you.
