Katie tattooed me about a month ago and it was such a great experience. The shop is immaculate and everyone in the shop was super kind and inviting My tattoo is of my dog with lots of bright, colorful flowers. It is even more perfect than I imagined in my head. Katie was so focused on every detail and it shows! I don't have a great picture of the tattoo yet, but I couldn't wait any longer to give a review! So....I went to get a touch up on my War horse tattoo on my forearm today because I lost some color and it messed up the line work some during the healing process. It happens when you get a full color tattoo as it starts to flake off and peel like a sunburn would. I will not ever go back to Black Cobra Tattoo in Sherwood again. Here's why.. First off, they will not give you a price for anything hardly at all upfront no matter how much you ask.They wont even give you an hourly... rate upfront. Not only are they hard to get a hold of to set up an appointment, but If you go there expect to pay around $100 an hour for your artist. When you are done with your tattoo and you go to pay, there is an extra spot so you can tip the tattoo artist... Not kidding... Okay, that's fine if you aren't charging your customers $100 an hour then do to them what Matt O'Baugh just pulled on me with my touch up. I walk in there and finally get to sit down with Matt O'Baugh, the artist that charged me an outrageous price for my forearm piece and he looks at my arm. He has me point out the areas that clearly need a touch up because at this point it looks like a 4 year old took a crayon to my arm. Me needing a touch up is no fault of Matt's because it's simply the way my arm healed. That isn't what I have the issue with. It's what he did next that pissed me off and sealed the deal with my feelings. Miraculously Matt suddenly has a case of blindness, and tried to convince me that my tattoo looks fabulous. I insisted on the touch up as Matt is sitting there comparing photos of my arm from when he first did the tattoo compared to now, and he's sitting there stretching the skin on my arm in funny ways looking at it. Man, this isn't my first rodeo with tattoos, and I know when I need a touch up. For what I paid you, I could practically have the Mona Lisa tattooed on my arm and you should be happy to do a frickkin touch up to promote your talent.. He reluctantly did my touch up and was totally pissy the whole time about it... I never once insulted any of his work. He has mad talent, but he is wayyyyy overpriced and his customer service is screwed up. He isn't $100 an hour good. Got news for ya pal, I have a dragon on my arm that's a half sleeve that puts your art to shame, and only cost me $400 in California and they weren't even on Ink Masters. End of rant... Jesse did a great job with the piece I wanted and I would recommend anyone stop in and check out there work... they do get busy so I would recommend making an appointment! My lucky day I guess. Super clean establishment and their artists are extremely health conscience. Watched one artist going through his startup procedures and he changed out his gloves 8 times to ensure there was no cross contamination with the products he was using. Their crew is polite and helpful in the consultation process so that their patrons are the most happy. Really relaxed atmosphere for those waiting around as their loved ones get their tattoo. My friend and I drove from Springfield,MO to get tattooed and it was soooo worth it. We will definitely come back again. Katie went above and beyond what we had in mind for our tattoos. She even added some flowers in mine to fill in some space that would have left tattoo looking off balance. Loved how thorough and precise she was. I'm very awkward at first but the staff was so funny and friendly that they really put you at ease. The shop was the nicest shop I've seen too. I went here to get my fourth tattoo and my wife's first. I can't say enough good things about this place. I've never been to a tattoo place that had such a great combination of artistry, professionalism and cleanliness. Me and my wife are both really introverted and felt comfortable with not only our tattoo artist but the whole staff in general. Me and my wife used Shawn garrison cause we immediately fell in love with his work but in all honesty if you look at all the portfolios of all the artist you will not be able to find a bad one. This shop has amazing artists, is super clean, super friendly, and super knowledgeable. They go out of their way to make sure their work will last and heal well. Their staff is amazing! Went to Black Cobra from Nashville during some bad snow storms and they were very generous and caring. They went out of their way to check on us while we were on the way! Once we made it to the establishment everyone was very friendly. Not only is this shop filled with some amazing artists, but they are also just some genuinely awesome people. We love Black Cobra! My husband had been tattooed by Matt so was familiar with the shop and obviously had a great experience. In the summer I went and got my first tattoo from Jesse who we love! So much so that we both went back this week and got tattoos from him again! Highly recommend going to Jesse if you're looking for some beautiful lettering! He worked so hard on our anniversary tattoos and made them so beautiful and personal. The shop is also great, super clean and friendly. We have enjoyed talking to everyone in there! I've been to a handful of different tattoo shops in multiple cities and they don't all feel as welcoming and easy to be in as this one! Went to Black Cobra for a piercing based on reviews I read on Yelp.  Was my first time in the facility, and even though they had very good reviews, I was a little skeptical until I walked in the door.  The facility was clean and the employees were very helpful and professional. I was greeted by a very professional woman, who initially assisted me with the appointment/paperwork, etc.  The guy who did the piercing, Kyle, was also very professional. He was very accurate in his work to ensure the job was done right and he educated me on what to expect afterwards and procedures for cleaning my piercing. Most importantly, he used sterilized piercing tools/materials! That's an A+ in my book! I consider this a clean, safe, professional business and will definitely recommend to my friends! Read Less

Amazing experience, amazing people. Came to get my first tattoo with my mom from Katie, all the way from Dallas. They were all gracious and kind- a change from the shops I was used to in Texas. Every single artist was kind, and my tattoo is absolutely perfect.Traditional style, vivid colors, and an original design. I could not have asked for a better experience. Katie made me feel comfortable, let me chat with her, and did an amazing job. Although my tattoo may not be everyone's taste, I have not heard a negative thing about the quality, because the talent shines through.It can be pricey here- but not overly so. When it comes to tattoos, it's a one time investment and you get what you pay for. If you don't think your tattoo was expensive, it's too cheap! It was worth every penny.I'm going back in a few weeks to get my second tattoo there, from Jesse, and I can say I will not hesitate to go there for every tattoo I get, regardless of the drive. Great place! Very professional and clean, wonderful atmosphere too. Very friendly staff. Got my nipples done by Kyle and he did a wonderful job. Was very informative about aftercare, etc. He said 6-8 wks follow up to change the jewelry. So reasonably priced on top of it all! Only $60 for both tits, and $20 for both barbells when I return!
