Pharaohs Horses is by far, one of the best shops in Tucson. The atmosphere is awesome! It's really clean, very laid back and comfortable. The guys are all super chill, and extremely talented. They're all very skilled in their craft. I'm pretty partial to my artist, ALEX EVEN he's absolutely amazing! He gave me, my last two beauties and I'm so, thoroughly impressed with his artistic vision and attention to detail,  I doubt I'll ever venture out to find another. He's stuck with me now. Victor at Pharoah's horses has been great to work with. I went in a little over a month ago for a small piece that he designed especially for me with the flare and creativity of his own style. During that visit I showed him a ten year old portrait of my Mother who passed when I was very young that is on my shoulder. I asked him if he would be into retouching it. Not only was this piece 10 years old but was also poorly done. I have searched for years for someone to trust to revisit this very special tattoo. Not only has Victor, over the course of the past month, brought my Momma to life and refined her features but he has also extended the tattoo to frame her with her favorite roses and other adornments. Work seems good, but they are the rudest people on the planet. I mean, shockingly rude, like the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld. It might just be their gimmick, but they point, bark or just turn away when you approach. At least that's what happened the first 3 times. I might try it again the art looks that good. Read Less

Using Yelp and other review sites I chose Pharaoh's Horses as the place to get a tattoo at while on vacation in Tucson. Immediately upon entering I was welcomed by a woman, was asked about what ideas I had, and that an artist (Jake) would be with me shortly.  He greeted me, we chatted about what I wanted, and he was even free to tattoo me that day. I scheduled an appointment for the next day since I'd have down time.Jake was a great artist to work with. He double and triple checked with me to make sure I was happy with the sketch, the size, and the placement before beginning. The whole process was very easy and chill, and I'm incredibly happy with the tattoo I got. I didn't give Jake a whole lot to go on besides what a couple key words, and though it was a simple tattoo it's perfect and very much feels like a "me" tattoo.The other artists in the shop were friendly and sociable, and at no point did I get the vibe or feeling that this was one of those shops that has that "attitude" about it. I asked for suggestions on places to eat and they had a multitude of places to suggest I try.If and when I'm back in Tucson again I'll definitely be back to this shop. Read Less

Really pleased with the work I had done. The place itself is an amazing restored old house on 4th, clean and beautiful. All the artists I saw were great. Christine did my tattoo and it is beautiful and perfect. Tommy and Jake have both done beautiful work on family members. Pharoah's is a new shop that has been around for over a year located on 4th ave. All artists in the shop are extremely professional and offer great quality if looking for bold traditional or black and grey tattoos. Pharoah's is one of the newer shops on 4th but with the quality of work coming out of this place you would think it had been around for 20 years. All the artists are phenomenal at what they do. The shop itself is very clean and everyone is friendly. I've personally had work done by Preston and Tommy and my lady had a piece done by Jake all of which turned out amazing. If you are looking to get tradtional work this shop is for you! The shop is super laid back, clean, (that's what you're looking for right?) And overall just a real rad atmosphere to get scabbed up at. I usually see Preston, but every one at Pharaohs kills it. Preston is just all and all a great artist clean bold lines, great color schemes and always puts out quality work. if he hasn't seen it before hell research like a crazy until he makes your piece perfect.
