So found this shop online. I just moved here from California, so my old artist isn't accessible. I came in on a whim and was greeted by Austin. He was very polite, and informed me they normal only go by appointments. He said he was doing a job and if he had time after that he would give me a call. I thought to myself yea ok I'm so sure. Low and behold he did a few hours later. I come in and is greeted by him and others. He starts his work checking in with me to make sure I'm comfortable throughout. Then a person who I assume is the owner a guy named jinx comes by and is looking at the work and compliments him on the design of my tattoo. Which Austin tells him it wasn't his it was my own drawing and design. Jinx comes over to me and compliments my art. As I'm laying there Jinx has such a positive and encouraging interactions with all his employees and clients. I was shocked. After we finished my tattoo looks fantastic. The exact skin and ink replica of my pen and paper one. I talk with Jinx for a bit and he was just a pleasure to talk to. The shop is fantastic. Went to Broken Clover for my first tattoo with my husband for our anniversary. The artist, Maddy was relatively new but very kind and patient with us. The price was a bit higher than we were expecting but they offer free unlimited touch ups so I'm sure we'll get our money's worth in time. She didn't really go over all the details of what to expect in the healing process ahead but the tattoo is very small and simple and I guess there's always google for that so I wasn't too worried. Minsu was recommended by my niece and he did an awesome job on my tattoo.  But the owner was the most unprofessional person I have ever encountered.  He reprimanded Minsu while he was working on a customer and did not let up.  It was so bad that we all felt incredibly embarrassed and almost walked out. The only reason I stayed was because I didn't want Minsu to lose the business because of his bosses antics.  The owner was rude, aggressive and created a bad energy in the shop. Minsu maintained his professionalism but clearly was taken aback by the situation.  If energy or professionalism is as important as good ink, then I would skip this one. Read Less

I had my tattoo done by Raquel- she's been travelling a lot and generally enjoying being a young person who is good at what she does, so it took her about a week to get back to me but she was super sweet and accomandating, and good for her for enjoying her life. I had my consultation and about two weeks later my appointment and holy s*** her sketch was way better than I could have imagined. She captured everything we talked about and it was a general feeling that she really GOT IT she got the feeling and look I wanted to a T. I've been working on my chest piece with Sequoya since February of this year. I had a rough idea of what I wanted, but I'm not a visual person so I couldn't visualize it. I told Sequoya what I wanted the tattoo to represent, and she immediately started working on ideas. What she came back with was beyond anything I had anticipated. Throughout the entire planning process she made sure to check in with me several times and make sure I was satisfied with the design, and assured me that she'd fix anything I wasn't happy with before going into our first session. It's very clear she takes her work and her reputation seriously, and that she wants to make sure her work is exactly what you're hoping for.Throughout each session she was incredibly accommodating. When it got too painful, she let me take breaks for as long as I needed, and she made sure to be engaging the entire time. She made having needles repeatedly pushed into my skin about as enjoyable as it can be. But it's clear that she works hard to make the experience as collaborative and enjoyable as possible, so that you walk away not just satisfied, but loving your tattoo. I've only had one other tattoo done so far, and it was by another artist, but the difference in experiences was night and day. Sequoya was by far more creative in her artwork, more engaging and friendly, and across the board more mindful of my role in the process. I honestly can't recommend her strongly enough. She had done sugar skulls before, and I really liked her design. She was very professional, and everything was clean and to standards. Recently got two tattoos done here by Danae - one small cactus on my hip and a bigger piece on my upper thigh. She's so talented and I love how both turned out! They healed really quickly too.She has photos of a lot of her pieces on her Instagram (which can be found on the Broken Clover website). The bigger tattoo I got had a lot of meaning to me and I was pretty anxious.. but Danae was really cool about it all and put me at ease. The atmosphere at this place is great; the artists joke around with each other and make you feel like you've known them forever. Be sure to look through the website and contact the artists beforehand to make appointments! It doesn't seem like they have much downtime for consults while at the parlor.The actual parlor is clean and has art all over the walls. Usually have good music playing, which is a plus! Others may have had a great experience here, all the artists are very nice. I went with a friend to get a tattoo together. I got a moon,she got a sun. A guy worked with her and I got Sequoya. They were both very nice and helped us work out a price for what we wanted. This bad review is SOLEY because I (sadly) don't like my tattoo. I want to like it, but I don't. The face of my moon and the shading is superb and very lovely. But the outline looks awful , a 5th grader could draw a better outline than that. The ends of the moon aren't even sharp to a point, and the entire arch of the moon looks jaggid. I got it on the upper middle of my back so it was hard to see when she asked me if I like it. I was excited and I said I like it. (I do like the face of the moon a lot). Its weirder because she complimented how still I sat, especially for the location. So how did she mess it up? I contacted her to go back so she can "touch it up" but I didn't seem very confident that she knew how to fix the actual shape of the moon "We can try a thicker outline" she says. Uhm no, we are not going to "Try" anything, you either know how you're going to fix it or you don't. But I will not be your lab rat. And so I backed out of going, kind of scared to let her tattoo me again anyway after learning she has only been in the tatt business for roughly a year .I'll most likely have to pay someone I can Trust to fix it. I want to love the ink on my body, not regret it. My friends sun turned out beautiful though. So I guess that's a plus. Read Less

Maybe you're not cool enough for Broken Clover, but if you get a tattoo at Broken Clover, that might make you cool enough.Twenty years after bartering for my first 2 tattoos (and getting my money's worth, don'tcha know) I decided I was going to find the absolutely best tattoo parlor in town for my grownup ink. I settled on Broken Clover, as it was very highly rated, and chose Raquel as the artist whose work seemed to best fit my vision. Working with Raquel was great!I got a couple simple tats first: one was a small line illustration from a book I had when I was a kid, and the other was some numbers in a typewriter face. Raquel works really fast: I was under the needle for maybe an hour total and got 2 very clean tattoos with incredibly fine detail. The lines are so exquisite! Some of them were a bit too fine, but they do touch-ups for free, so it was the work of 3 minutes to fix it.Then I was ready for a more complicated piece. I had a few pictures that were close to what I wanted, but not quite. Raquel was able to patch the source material together to create almost exactly what I had envisioned in my mind. This 3rd tattoo gets so many compliments! The shading is spot on, and again, the tiny details are remarkable. They just leased out the storefront next door to their original location, doubling the size of the business. Don't drop by; the door is usually locked and you need an appointment to see an artist. If you visit during the day, you may have difficulty finding the place. There's a neon "tattoo" sign in the window, but they often keep the sliding door down over it, so there's a good chance that you'll just walk on past, as there is no shingle to identify the business. Maybe they'll change that in the future. The artists are really friendly and helpful. I'm saving up for a quarter sleeve and Raquel is definitely my first choice. Read Less
