I came to her with an idea of adding to my existing tat that I wasn’t so crazy about any longer, she spun it around with a complete cover-up…a total re-do…and I LOVE IT!!! Christine was tremendously compassionate and asked frequently if I needed a break, of course I bit the bullet and said “no”; I wanted this done as soon as possible. Christine was able to complete my tat in one session; I was in the shop from 11am-4pm and was the best experience I could have asked for. Had my first tattoo done there by Javi! It was the greatest experience I could have asked for! He did an amazing job on me and my mom. He hand designed our tattoo and was super funny and enjoyable to be around! If I ever end up getting another tattoo I wouldn't go anywhere else!!! Read Less

I got tattooed by an artist named Manny. This shop has a great atmosphere, as soon as I walked in I was kindly greeted by a gentleman at the front desk asking if I had an appointment. Booked an appointment after seeing Christine's work on a random couple in a restaurant. She finished my piece today and I couldn't be happier. If only I could give 10 stars! She did an amazing job taking all of my ideas and coming up with a beautiful tattoo that flows so well with my already existing tattoos, free hand mostly! I have been getting tattooed here by Nicole Marie McCord for a few years now. I keep going back first and foremost because she is so incredibly talented. She never fails to make me comfortable and keep me smiling through my appointments but her talent and ability to connect to ideas in my head and translate them not just so clearly but so beautifully is unrivaled. The tattoo that first brought me to her, was a huge, complex piece that netted me a wide range of responses from other tattooers but most importantly, none of them were able to offer me anything that was close to what I wanted. Within minutes of meeting with Nicole, she started sketching as I was talking! I was blown away. She just nailed it! I've been going back ever since. Nobody will ever tattoo me again. In fact, what work I did have done previously, I've since had her cover for me. Loyal client for life. I do suggest you call the shop and make an appointment for a consult rather than just walking in. I got lucky that day but she does get pretty booked up (for good reason! Nothing but positive vibes here! Did a little walk in yesterday and Danny was super accommodating. Listened to what I wanted but also gave me a ton of advice too! Shop is super clean, and everyone else was pretty nice too. This is my first tattoo and I'm so happy!  I brought in my ideas and some pics during my consultation appointment and artist Nicole listened with an open mind and had great ideas of her own.  When I arrived for my appointment, Nicole wasn't quite ready as she explained she just finished with someone else and was cleaning up. That's ok, girl, clean is good so take your time. Nicole free handed the drawing on my leg and nailed it!  She made sure I was comfortable, put on a stand up comedian on her laptop, then started.  During the first hour, we discovered we both had a love for the late 1800's/early 1900's era. When it was time for me to change position, she introduced me to a show dealing with this time period. She even moved her table and supplies around so I could watch it. My husband was there and interested in a tattoo of his own. He asked Nicole if she did patriotic work, and she truthfully replied she didn't but introduced my husband to an artist at the shop who did. My husband ended up making an appointment with artist Danny in a few weeks. Nicole finished my tattoo in about 3 1/2 hours and it is more than what I envisioned, I love it!  She was very clean, I believe she changed her gloves about every 20 minutes and with my husband working in the medical field and me working in a health clinic, this was top notch. She gave me plenty of opportunities for breaks and made sure I was as comfortable as possible the whole time. Nicole explained aftercare thoroughly and answered all my questions. This was my first visit at this location. I originally was going to a shop in Scottsdale with a talented artist Christine. My last session was scheduled far out so I could enjoy my summer of swimming. My first impression of the shop from the outside was mixed. But when I walked inside I really like the openness,friendly staff, and each artist room semi private. The artist CHRISTINE V. was amazing as usual. She is busy artist that you typically have to book in advance. If you need to cancel your appointment you will probably have to wait couple weeks for next open slot. That I do not mind as peace of mind that I am getting tier 1 tattoo artist. (I am getting something inked on me for life so patience is a virtue. You can see my tattoo done by her Iron Patriot (Iron man) if you dont know what that is. Jessika is the best piercer on planet earth! I wouldn't trust anybody but her to stab me with needles. She's very personable and makes me feel very welcomed every time I visit her. She's what I refer to as a "piercing ninja'. She knows what she's doing and she does it well. I have had several piercings done by yours truly and have never had a problem with the healing process. Came here with my fiancé to get some tattoos for his birthday in July of 2013. He was getting both of his feet done, and I was getting a thigh piece. We got our tattoos done by Randy f'n Randerson, and he is the man! Not only was he super fun to talk to while getting our tattoos done, but he was always asking if we were okay and needed a break. He jammed my fiancés feet out in a few hours, and my thigh in about an hour and half-if that. I believe Randy has gone to another shop now, but I am very glad I was able to get a piece done by him before he left!The shop is very clean, and the employees and artists are all very nice. They do require a cash deposit (like most places do) to guarantee your spot with the artist. I would love to visit the other Urban Art in Mesa, where Justin Hartman works! Super welcoming staff; Sage and Danny greeted me with warm conversation and discussed what I was looking for. Calm vibes illuminate this studio ( and it's super clean!) very accommodating; no appointment yet the team showed excitement to work with me to get my piece done. This talkative duo made me feel comfortable while getting my first tattoo done. Danny Stella is an awesome artist and created a piece that came to life and exceeded my expectations and helped me avoid the typical piece you would find on Pinterest. Danny was awesome and accommodating; came in for a walk in and sat for a couple hour session. Felt comfortable with the mellow music and enjoyed the patience I felt Danny had with the piece (didn't feel like the artist was rushing the piece). This is my favorite shop and Huka Lewis is my favorite artist! She is amazing. I came in with a small back tattoo that was not what I wanted. I explained what I wanted and she literally drew on my back and got the idea right on. It is my favorite tattoo and will be coming to her to expand it. Everyone in the shop is super friendly with a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend it if you want great tattoos drawn and done by talented artist!! They are the bomb! 5 stars is not enough! So, yesterday was the Homecoming game - ASU vs University of Washington which we just happened to be in town for. I jokingly said to my boyfriend "let's go to the game, then to the bar, then get a curry and you can buy me a new tatto".  Well bugger me witb a bargepole, he agreed.So, after great fun tailgating, a kick ass football game, a couple vodkas and a curry, I rolled in here to have Danny tattoo Sparky on my shoulder.I'm not going to explain who Sparky is. You're in Tempe, if you don't know then there's no hope for you.The staff were really cool and very professional. Danny made chit chat throughout, which I like as it detracts from the fact you're having needles dragged through your skin.He spent time discussing the tat with me and the placement, and the price was better than i expected.
