I have known Damien for quite sometime, and sought him out specifically on my visit to Phoenix from Portland because I admire his work and generally who he his as an artist. So I trusted him to take my ideas and whip up exactly what I wanted and he did! I've been going to Taija for over 3 years and she has consistently done a fantastic job! My first tattoo that I received from her was my shoulder piece and the colors are still as vibrant as the first day I got it and I receive compliments almost daily. She also has a really gentle touch, I've received tattoos from other artists and Taija is by far the gentlest given the circumstances of being stabbed repeatedly. This place is sick. I was just coming in to check the place out and maybe make an appointment, but I ended up leaving with an awesome tattoo that me and my friend got. I've heard people say "I've got a tattoo guy" and never really understood why you'd stick to one person. It's just a tattoo right? Just like anything else, first available, lowest price, bingo Bango, done.Wrong! From the hygeneie, to the design, to the aftercare; this place has you, and all of it, covered. You walk into a really unique, spacious boutique-type of place with beautiful art work and an expertly coordinated bathroom. (Really, go look at the bathroom, even if you don't have to use it). The details of this place are insane! If a couch could be sexy, then that couch is amazingly sexy. I bring this up because design is design, regardless if it's wall paint or arm ink.I did a walk in for the first and then set an appointment for the second. Pay attention - they take only cash so be prepared. This also isn't your cousins, mother uncles basement ok? You get exactly what you paid for.So what did I pay for? The 1st was a custom made design which was replicated and tweaked to become symmetical and visually appealing. The 2nd one equally blew my mind. I said "kinda like this, but not that, and maybe this but I'm not sure of That"...and all of a sudden, my nonsense jumbleded description was transposed into exactly what words struggled to describe. It's real easy to go to a service spot and be jaded. Duane and his team breathe life into art and I hope they're incredibly proud of the talent they have, because they have some real amazing gifts within those four, perfectly color coordinated walls. If I could give a 0/5 stars I would. Me and a few friends went there and the artist literally dogged the tattoos a friend and I wanted. He recommended not doing it the way we wanted them so we decided not to get the tattoo. A point of a tattoo for a human being is to express the art the way the want it to be portrayed. It is our body and our freedom to get any tattoo, any way it's placed on our body. The last thing I recall the artist saying was "oh, I'll do the tattoo, but people will laugh at you for 25 plus years." It's all about perception and this individual clearly wants to control the way the tattoo is placed on your body. Think about it. On top of all this, we waited 2 in a half hours for some of the smallest work I've ever seen done. I wouldn't recommend this place on a Sunday in Arizona. Read Less

Came in on a Tuesday but they were booked up for the rest of the night. Met an artist named Johnny who advised me to call him on Friday and set up an appointment. He also was able to give me a quote on what he thought the job would be. When we came on Friday the experience was great: Johnny was a cool guy to talk to and he did really good work. also the price was very close to what he had originally quoted me but I paid the extra $10 to have medical grade bandage put on my tattoo that helps to heal it and protect it. Also it's worth noting that the overall atmosphere of the place was unlike any tattoo shop I had been in in some time. It was very artistic and eccentric and had a tattoo parlor Vibe yet it was like walking into a museum of sorts. My wife and my friend are both going there to get their tattoos touched up and I think I will definitely be back if I ever get another one. Read Less

Such a serene environment & every artist is an amazing artist & they are all rad af. Clean and nice artistic atmosphere. There's usually someone to greet you and help you. I got my tattoo last year and although I love the design I hate the tattoo itself. So my mom, my best friend, and I wanted to get tattoos to celebrate my mom completing her cancer treatment. It was kind of last minute, so I was worried about finding a decent place. Mind you, I haven't gotten a tattoo since 2001 and it was a big biker dude in a dumpy shop (he did a beautiful job though). Anyway, my best friend mentioned our other friend had had her tattoo fixed at Om, so I looked them up on Yelp. Great reviews and they took appointments. So I emailed them and received a reply within the hour setting us up for the next day. When we arrived, we noticed that the studio looked more like a salon than the shady store fronts we were used to, and all the artists looked incredibly professional. We were early, but that was not a problem. We told them exactly what we wanted and were ALL done within an hour and a half. The studio itself was lovely and the artists were great. They did beautiful work and we are all thrilled with our finished products. My mom showed them her 45-year-old hip tattoo (we said early tramp stamp lol) that she wants recolored and they got so excited. I was going for a very short weekend to Phoenix and wanted to get a tattoo so I contacted this shop (close to where I would be staying) and they replied right away, assured me of an appt spot and let me know about traffic from airport to shop so I could schedule a good time.I had a friend pay the deposit and emailed with the artist on what I wanted. When I got there, I fell in love with the studio! Extremely clean, very zen, and so much art! I think they said it's an art studio as well and performances happen too.Met with Duane and he was amazing the entire time! Made me feel as ease, super friendly, talked in detail on what he would be tattooing and then we got to work! I absolutely love this place. My friend and I found it when I was visiting from Michigan. From the moment we walked in I knew I'd be in good hands. There's more than tattooing, there's all forms of art you can see. It was great. I ended up getting very lucky, Duane had a cancellation so he could get me in while I was still on vacation. I heard of Taija from a random person and loved their work. I have been looking for someone that does water color really well. I loved her design and the tattoo looked just like the drawing. I have a tattoo that I want her to fix and a back piece to finish. I also plan to get some other work done by Taija. She is very sweet and made the changes I asked without a problem. I love the low lighting and mellow atmosphere almost as if you were in a spa. Not only does this shop offer a wicked cool vibe but it shows you the talent offered there as soon as you walk in. The walls showcase these artists are really that... artists. My best friend and I were on a road trip from Seattle to Phoenix and knew that the tattoo we had talked about for months was perfect way to end it. We called all through out California and was told ridiculous things. So looking at Phoenix shops and seeing the positive reviews for OM? We had to call. Don't ask me how I actually found Om Ink Gallery; somewhere online... I got my second(Which is a gecko with hawaiian plants) and third tattoo(HP deathly Hallows) done by Taija Gauthier; both visits were fun. Each time when I get asked about my tattoos, I tell them that I got it done at Om Ink Gallery by Taija.. I even refer my coworkers to this shop. The only thing I hate about this place is I found it about 15 tattoos later and they have the most talented tattoo artist I've ever seen. I've been through all of Arizona from Glendale to Jerome and these people have the most talented bunch. I get CRAZY compliments  from the sleeve in getting worked on by Ivan and have a lot of work planned out from Duane. Came in for some odd piercings...a fellow by the name of Dwayne was kind enough to help me. He was so calming, as i was a nervous wreck. These were not my first piercings but they were more personal ones, so I was literally about to poop my pants. Halfway through the procedure, I passed out with the needle still in me. Dwayne woke me up, reassured me with water and a jolly rancher, took the time with me. hours of no eating and no sleep + pain = lights out. I was thankful Dwayne was quick and very professional.
