DO NOT get a tongue piercing done here. I've seen many reviews on other piercings and tattoos which seem great, but my experience was not. Not only was the owner extremely unprofessional, he created some damage to my tongue. First off, I called wanting to come in and get a tongue piercing. It was about 1 in the afternoon. I arrived at the business and it was locked. I called again to inform him that I was outside. He told me he would be there in 20 minutes. I waited 40 minutes and he did not arrive. I should've listened to my gut and not return but no other shop was open as it was a Sunday and I wanted it done that day. The owner started texting me and when I mentioned coming back to get pierced, he asked me "what were you coming in for again?". Okay... so I went to get it pierced. He does not use a clamp when piercing a tongue. I liked that, but I didn't realize how important the clamp was until later on. I was in so much pain, I was in shock afterwards and didn't speak for a couple hours. My tongue bled so much. Two days later, my tongue started gushing blood. Keep in mind, I took very good care of my piercing. I went to urgent care. They recommended that I go to the ER if it happens again. I got some antibiotics which healed it within a week. The first two weeks of my piercing, I experienced more pain than ever before. It seemed as if my healing experience was far more painful than everyone else's healing experience. At 3 weeks, the swelling was down and I went to Halo Piercing. Before I went there, however, I texted the piercer from Tattoo Blvd (since that seemed to be his preferred form of communication) and I asked him if he would switch the jewelry out for me. He ignored my text. Another red flag. So I proceeded to go to Halo. Halo has always been my favorite and I should've gone there instead of being impulsive and going on a Sunday. When they switched my jewelry out, the normal size bar would not fit in my tongue. Why? Because the damn piercer pierced it at an angle. I never noticed until then. The piercer from Halo was concerned and said it is a concern as tearing can occur. It is NOT supposed to be at an angle. Since he did not clamp my tongue, I attempted to pull my tongue back from the pain automatically which most likely caused the piercing to be at an angle. I was also informed that he pierced more muscle than tissue and that was why I was in so much pain. She put a 3/4 bar in my tongue which fits perfectly, but like... a 3/4 bar is what I will always need to use. I'm just disappointed and I shouldn't have been so impulsive that day. I'm sorry for the bad review, i never write reviews, but the lack of professionalism I was shown, the amount of pain I went through, and the angled hole has really drawn me to sharing my experience.
