A group of friends made an appointment to come in for tattoos to memorialize people we've recently lost. My tattoo was very small, but cost $70 due to that being the shop minimum. It was WELL over what I was expecting to pay based on the size, and what I've paid at other shops for larger tattoos, but I felt it was worth it for a quality tattoo and for the shared experience of doing this with my friends. After Jason completed my tattoo (less than 5 minutes), I pointed out a thin section of the writing and asked if he should go over it again. He said no, it's fine. I found that weird, given that it's my tattoo, and that I'd certainly paid enough for him to do a 3-second touch-up, but didn't want to ruin the experience, and just let it go. Throughout the couple of hours our group was there, we had a lot of fun sharing memories of our loved ones and funny stories with each other, including Jason. Unfortunately, just prior to leaving... but of course after we had all paid... Jason became very rude, clearly trying to instigate an argument. He said several incredibly hurtful things that I don't care to share in a public forum. I was angry, hurt, and on the verge of tears. I had to bite my lip and disengage from the conversation entirely to avoid sobbing. I'm devastated that, while I carry this tattoo as a memorial of my loved one, it will also forever be a reminder of this terrible experience. So yesterday I went in to get a cover up from May May. A lot of my friends recommended her. I was there for 2.5 hours and it felt like 30 minutes. Not only does she do excellent tattoo work, but she will keep you entertained at no extra charge. Also, you just might learn a thing or two about yourself! I know I did! I got my first tattoo at 15 when I visited AZ here on vacation from NY, I've been to a few tattoo shops but none of them EVER treated me as good as the staff at Lucky Draw.The staff is very sweet and professional and very creative. they're NOT like other tattoo studio's like I said ,I have unfortunately went to others before lucky draw and unlike those other places ,they love doing your tattoos and they know your tattoo has a purpose !they care for their customers and their prices are very reasonable! It's the ONLY tattoo shop I will go to and refer my customer's and friend's and other people to. One of the best tattoo shops there is. I went there and got a forearm piece done by May May. Has one of the most gentle hands, best details, and just really down to earth. She makes sure that you're fully happy with your tattoo before you're done with the session. The tattoo shop itself is very clean, well organized, and very well put together. Went in for a fairly simple tattoo of script along the forearm and my artist was Chris Bailey.  The end result was great and Chris was very friendly and professional.  Except...I don't know what it is with the plastic wrap after the tattoo here in Phoenix (and it's not just this shop).  Wounds need air to heal, I've never seen a tattoo shop use plastic wrap other than here in AZ.  I'd say do your own research on aftercare but I took the saran wrap off in the parking lot. Originally I had went to Epic Tattoo and had Aaron starting this piece. As time went on he kept asking for more money and it was sitting ridiculous. Making fun of the people who come with you and your tattoo. He's just rude. I went to lucky draw for Karen to completely re work and rectify my amazing piece. Seriously she is the greatest this color hasn't faded and is a constant conversation starter when im out swimming. I've been needing to get more work done but I also want more tats. Corey is also a phenomenal piercer. This man has seen every inch of me and pierced the most sensitive spot on my body and was completely professional considering where his hand was located on me.  He is great!!! Read Less

My experience here was very lucky indeed! I walked in after reading a couple reviews online and requested to see Tom. He is THE MAN. I had to wait like 30 mins because initially I scheduled an appt with Eric (Who I was told is just as experienced and has worked alongside Tom for years) but he wasnt available. But it was ok! because ultimately I was VERY pleased with my tattoo and thats all that matters anyway. I went in a little unsure about what exactly I wanted, but threw out the gist of the idea and trusted Tom who seemed very self aware and cognizant of his abilities as an artist.Hes very confident and knows what hes doing. I think he said hes been a tattoo artist for 15 years.He works quickly but I could tell he was sharply paying attention to detail and the job despite the fact he was surrounded by my friends who were somewhat distracting. its a very clean and hip atmosphere and loved goofing off and checkin the place out with my friends who were with me while I was waiting.My tattoo was tasteful, sexy, and something I love to show off :) Everything I wanted in a tattoo. On top of it all the price was incredible. He charged my lower than what I was first quoted and DEFINITELY more reasonable than any other tattoo places I had shopped around at. Read Less

This review should have been posted many many moons ago, for the wonderful Bob Simms, who was the artist and creator of my back piece, sadly passed away a few years ago and was unable to complete his work. He will be forever missed, and I am honored to have 22 hours of his artwork permanently etched into my skin. Still, I have a slight problem, unfinished work!!I have searched high and low for someone to complete his work.. Among numerous denials because so and so artist wouldn't "be able to take credit" or "I'm going to charge you $200 and hour" or just plain ol' crap portfolios I've come across have led back here. Eager to see what had changed, and to retrieve a new nose stud since mine was lost along the way somewhere, I found myself back at square 1.To my surprise, Bob's old girlfriend still works here.. Karyn. Let me tell you, this bitch is amazing. Not only is she full of immeasurable talent, but she is just so f-ing cool you cant help but love her. She remembered me immediately and we began to talk tattoos, and suddenly my dreams came true, she agreed to finish his work. She noted she has finished a lot of his pieces, which I find to be extremely strong of her. It has to be tough... I killed 2 birds with one stone on my random stop in.. acquired a new stud and a new artist.. my first appointment with Karyn is in a few short weeks and I am so excited that after all my searching, the person who was closest to him is going to complete my art. Not to mention she is amazing.I highly recommend Lucky Draw to anyone seeking quality work at reasonable prices in a very sterile environment. Although this is the first Tattoo Shop I have visited, I can say that Tom has been fantastic. He took my basic thought of what I wanted and came up with a brilliant design. When I was done I was extremely satisfied. I returned to have more added a few months later and his skills really showed when he incorporated what I wanted into a design that was originally designed to stand alone. Tom has been fantastic.
