Big shout out to Xavier! I randomly selected this shop to check it out and talk about a tattoo and look at portfolios from all the artists. They all were impressive but i decided to go with Xavier. Everyone at the shop was super friendly and helpful. I made my appointment and just got done. I absolutely love my new tattoo and i enjoyed the process. He was nice, friendly, and cool to talk to. Very informative as well on proper care for the healing process. I left the shop SUPER stoked. Definitely recommend this shop to everyone. Matt Garcia, best in the business! After a LOT of research I was fortunate enough to work with Matt Garcia on a leg piece that took about 15 hours. Best decision I’ve ever made! I’ve never seen anything like it. He is friendly, professional and incredibly talented. He has a passion for what he does that is unmatched. He worked with me on the design, did exactly what I wanted and even steered me in the right direction a few times to make sure the tattoo came out perfect. He was so easy to work with and instantly gained my trust for an undertaking of his magnitude. I’ve seen thousands of tattoos online and on tv, etc and this is by far the best one I’ve ever seen. I’m incredibly OCD and I’ve stared at this thing for hours and hours and cannot find a single thing wrong with it! Literally perfect. Kayla Gibson has got to be the one of the best artist I have met! She is clean and precise. Her lines are perfect, shading is perfect, color is perfect. The vibe the staff gave off was very negative and I'm pretty sure one of them was bullshitting me lmao I asked for an estimate for a tattoo I showed them which was 2 roses an the guy told me it'd take like 8 hours which is a lie bc my friends mom has similar detail to the pic I showed him an it only took 3 hours for hers.... he also said it'd cost 1,000 and for that small of a tattoo should not be that much lmao I don't think this shop is fair and if did take you 8 hours to do that you either suck don't know what you're doing or were fr bullshitting me😂😂🤘🏽 No thanks haha Read Less

I was visiting family in Gilbert and walked into Dark Horse Tattoo without an appointment. Sam Hicks immediately took care of me and did a great job with my tattoo. It was exactly what I wanted and I love it! It was a simple black design, but Sam treated my tattoo with as much care and intention as he would have with a large, full-color design. Matt Garcia is a true professional. He comes from a family of tattoo artists and has the talent and focus like no other I have seen before. Our family has been to many artists over the years, some claiming to be the best in the valley. 5 years ago my sister found Matt and since then he has done over 30 tattoos for our family and friends. Brandon Quinn is an exceptional addition to this already incredible team of artists. I thank him for staying late with me on a Sunday to complete my dream tattoo that I've desired since 1991. I gave him a simple idea and he turned it into a piece of art that I'll forever cherish. He's such an incredibly nice person who is LOADED with talent! We could not have had a better experience with James. My husband and i went yesterday to get our wedding rings tattooed on us because i became allergic to it. The tattoo James did looks as though our rings are sitting on our skin. James is friendly, funny and makes you feel very comfortable. The shop is clean and tastefully done. Not overly stuffy and not full of generic tattoos on the wall. All the other tattoo artists are just as friendly. My husband and i will definitely will be going back to James for any future tattoos.
