I got a tattoo at another shop last year. I was completely disappointed. I met with Brandon at Apache Tattoo and had such a good feeling with him, I made an appointment the following day. Very very good. Great detail work, and Brandon was incredible. He was personable AND professional. Immediately upon arrival I felt comfortable and at ease, knowing that he would listen and deliver all while making it a pleasant expedience. Typically. I've found that several shops make you seem like a number, and not a human, based on the fact that if you go elsewhere they'll just find someone to replace you. NOT HERE. it seemed to me as if every request for design, big or small, was important. And that their utmost concern was just giving you the tattoo and feeling you wanted. Which is absolutely perfect. It was a great experience, complete satisfaction, and gave excitement to finally be able to have a shop to return to.  I'll absolutely be back. I went in to get my ribs tattooed and lets be honest, I was really nervous! Chunk was my tattoo artist and immediately struck up conversation while he worked on my tattoo stencil. Great little shop hidden off Az Ave in chandler. Brandon is a great guy, not like some other tattoo guys that are too cool for whatever you're thinking. I have been contemplating getting a tattoo for about 15 years now and have checked out a several shops throughout the valley.  Most greeted me, showed me their portfolio, and then I never heard a peep out of them again so I left.  I started following a few of the shops in Arizona on Instagram and Apache Tattoo always posted great work.  My only dilemma was that I didn't know what I wanted and I hadn't really connected with any of the artists or owners at the other shops.  I went into the shop and Chunk greeted me right away asking great questions about what brought me into the shop.  Once I said that this would be my first tattoo, he sat down with me and talked about size, care, location, what would look good long term, and actually pulled up some samples of artwork on the internet for me to look at so I could narrow down what I wanted.  My apprehension about getting a tattoo was gone because Chunk took 10 minutes to talk with me and educate me about tattoos.  I went home, picked out what I wanted that night, and was back at his shop the next day getting my first tattoo.I absolutely love my tattoo and everyone asks me where I got it done.  Chunk is an amazing artist and it took a special person for me trust with my first tattoo.  The defining moment here for me was that he took the time to make me feel valued and comfortable with something that was brand new to me.  It is very rare for a business to do this with their customers and I appreciate it more than words can say.  Please support this local business and the fact that Chunk truly cares about his customers and overall happiness.  Keep up the great work man!!  :-) Read Less

My wife and I were looking to get wedding band tattoos to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Neither one of us has a tattoo, so we were nervous about this being our first experience, how much it would hurt, if the artist would make us feel like idiots, etc. In fact, we went to two other shops and both said that they wouldn't do the tattoos for us. We understood their reasons, being our first ones, a small area, etc., but our thought was mostly "What, do you hate money?"So, we went to see Chunk, kind of expecting the same thing to happen. Instead of telling us no, Chunk was really helpful and worked so much with us. He was really concerned about us having a positive first tattoo experience and walked us through the whole process, design and all. We ended up going with simple black bands instead of some kind of fancy design, and we are both really happy with the results. While we were getting the actual tattoos done, Chunk could not have been a better artist. He made sure that we were doing okay, checked in with us often, and made the whole process really comfortable. He even checked in with us the next day to thank us, ask if we had any questions, and to see how we were doing.I will definitely be going back to Chunk if/when I decide on another tattoo, and I will highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good, honest tattoo artist who really cares about his clients. My third experience at Apache went very smoothly. As always, Chunk is respectful, chill, and I'm happy with the result!I decided to get tattooed on my inner arm and personally, this was one of my most painful tattoos in recent memory (when did I become a giant baby?). Chunk however was really great asking if I was okay, taking breaks when I needed them, and keeping conversation going, which helped keep my mind off the pain! He remained upbeat the entire time which was infectious and much appreciated. This really stood out for me. Yes, a tattoo is gonna hurt but having an artist that's gonna make you laugh while you're dying for three hours is much better than someone who is annoyed by you reacting to pain (which I've experienced elsewhere). So I walked in to Apache without an apt right away Chunk said hello and showed me his portfolio and was asking me what I was wanting, I told him I wanted to get my son's name tattooed and the overall idea of a sleeve I want to do he liked the idea but gave me some ideas an advice he had to make everything look good in the end, ( tattoo artist in chandler & surrounding areas do not act this way I've been to tons looking for a good artist & cool person to do my sleeve someone who doesn't make you feel stupid or like a burden ) well on top of being a cool and down to earth guy I told him to give me like 15 mins to run home real quick which he was totally cool with it I left and 15 mins later I came back to a hand drawn masterpiece, less than 45 mins after that I walked out with a brand new tattoo NO JOKE! Chunk is the real deal and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM AND HIS SHOP I have already told all my family & friends where they need to go get tattooed from now on! Trust me if you have any concerns just look on his Instagram or Facebook at his work or portfolio in his shop very TALENTED!!! I had Brandon "Chunk" do my largest tatoo.  I can seriously say he is an artist- I only had a rough idea of what I wanted and he totally got what I meant to create and he tattooed exactly what I was looking for. I LOVE it and get compliments on it too. It is precisely what I wanted.I am also a total wimp as far as pain threshold  and  he was incredible about that- really patient- not irritable- vey supportive. Absolutely the best tattoo shop! My hubby and I actually drove in from CA to get tattooed by Brandon. The shop is clean and totally professional! Brandon is so talented and will tell let you know the best way to do whatever design you come in with. He will make sure you are 100% comfortable before he even sets up and will be sure you're totally satisfied with the design before he makes the stencil.
