So before anyone goes and gets a piercing this weekend from bright ideas let me tell you, the work is good. But I went about 2 years ago and it was $25 to get my nose done I unfortunately took it out and this year I decided to get it re pierced at the exact place (bright ideas). I called ahead asked the price some guy said $35 I was okay with that knowing there's a spot at desert sky mall that does it for $15, I went. I got there Told Dillion I wanted my nose he said wait 10 minutes service was great. Then when I went to sign the paper the price written was $45 (I looked after I signed and said screw it) then talking to Dillion he's trying to upsale & gets me, then I get the after care & it ended up being a $70 trip for a re pierce on my nose ... RIDICULOUS. Just do your research. I suggest they all know the price or have it somewhere. Read Less

Rick is such a great guy and genuinely cares about his staff and his clients. If you've been looking for a reliable shop, this is it. Walked in and waited until someone came and asked what I was there for. I told them I was there for a nose piercing and I was waiting for my sister in law to be there. So one of the guys had me fill out the form which I did and he told me to choose which stud I wanted. After about 2 minutes he asked me if I chose it and I said yes, I'm just waiting for my sister in law to which he responded "it would just be better if you did it now." Then I said, "Well I'm just waiting for my sister in law, she's almost here" and he walked away pissed off. He had 2 girl friends(? I'm assuming because they definitely didn't work there) that were following him around. So I waited for my sister in law to get there and I told her what happened and I just walked out and we went to Rebel Tattoo (which they are amazing). I am not wasting my money giving it to someone who thinks that me coming in for a piercing and waiting for someone that I was supposed to do it with is an inconvenience. Also, because he was pissed off, I can't imagine what it'd be like for him to stick a needle through my nose?! I got my snakebite piercings out of state while on vacation and the guy that did them did not give me enough information on what kind of piercings I had and how to change them. This is a very popular place and they are very professional.  The only issue I have had is that I have been turned away twice. Once, no one seemed to really care or asked me to make an appointment and another was an hour and half before closing i was told that the kast hour they dont take walk ins. My sister came and got her tattoo here. She wanted it smaller and the artist said that he, nor anyone se would go smaller on her tatto. Which is not true. I went somewhere else and mine is smaller and just what i wanted. So now my sister  has to invest more to get it fixed. If they prefer not to do small tattoos they should say so. My sister would have lost her deposit if she chose not to get her tattoo that day so she felt pressured and was not happy with her tattoo. Read Less

I heard good things about this place, so I decided to check it out. I had a piercing done, and it wasn't done right, and it ended up closing. My sister had a piercing done there, and hers closed up, too. Then I decided to go there for my first tattoo. I left a $40 cash deposit and made an appointment. I showed Rick what I wanted, he took a photo of it, and came back with something much, much larger . When I told him it was too big, he said he wouldn't make the tattoo any smaller than what he drew. The tattoo is pretty, but I wanted something the size of a silver dollar and instead I get a 4x1.5 inch tattoo with thick lines, no yellow or detail. My husband had his ears pierced here. I took my son here to get his ears pierced as well a few years ago. I went back and got my belly button re-pierced because I did it myself when I was in HS and it wasn't done properly (obviously). I didn't have any trouble with healing and am happy with the way it looks. It is straight now! Everyone is friendly, I felt welcome when I walked in. I will always recommend this place for piercing. Can you even call it “service” if your artist never shows up? If there was a negative star, I would rank this shop with that but since there isn’t, I’ll have to settle for just 1 Star. I had scheduled an appointment a week and a half ago to get my K9’s paw tattooed on my calf for my birthday, May 25. I gave them my deposit upon scheduling and on the day of my appointment, I arrived 15 minutes early to make sure I was on time for my appointment at 1pm. I was told by the front... desk girl that my artist, Jason, was not there yet and that he was on his way. I waited on a couch for about 20 minutes before she came over to me, informing me that he was 20 minutes away. By this time, it was about 1:23 so I figured by about 1:40 or so, Jason would be there. 1:45 rolls around and still no sign of my artist. She did not come up to me again to give me a time of when he was to arrive and no one offered me a different artist. Actually, no one said two words to me while I sat there waiting until 2:04 for Jason to show up. I decided to get my deposit back after calling a different tattoo shop, Divinity Tattoo, to see if I could come in to get my tattoo. Upon me receiving my deposit back, no one apologized for me having to wait an hour and no one wished that I would have a good day. I was simply handed back my money and I left the store after thanking them. When I was in my car is when my artist, Jason, finally drove into the parking lot. What a colossal waste of time! I understand if things come up and you need to reschedule. Clearly, they do not care about keeping appointment times with their clients, unless maybe you’re a veteran to their shop. I am grateful that I was able to get my deposit back, but the hour I wasted sitting there I can’t get back. Perhaps next time there is a three day weekend, they will foresee it in their best interest and in the best interests of their clients to just shut down the shop. If there was a negative star I would give it to this tattoo shop. I waited an hour for the artist to show up and he never appeared so then I asked for my deposit back and right when I get to my vehicle the artist Jason decides to show up. Keep in mind, I had my appointment scheduled for about a week to a week and a half, and had given them my deposit upon scheduling my appointment. I didn’t even receive an apology or access to a different artist. I even showed up 15 minutes early so I knew I wasn’t late. Went in to get a nose piercing. Was very specific about wanting it to hug my nose and I wanted it to be minimal. They told me no problem. When I get it pierced they show me a mirror and it's just a huge piercing. When I told them they said to me that they could do a small one, they went on to say "you can switch to those later, these are the smallest ones we can do." So my sister went to have a piercing today and me and our other sister tagged along. We get there they ask why we need help with and tel her she's here for a piercing. Well we had called before and she said it'd be 25$, okay cool. Through the process, were curious and asking questions, as none of us have had our noses pierced and the piercer was so snotty with every answer she had for us. Idk if she was having a bad day or what her deal was, but it definitely was not great customer service on her end. Before putting on the ring she brings up the fact that the girl chose an upgraded one and my sister doesn't like diamond she wanted a simple hoop and the girl was dead on not switching it to a basic one and was like well you can stick it inside and it won't show. Like why not get a basic one if you're just going to hide it right? Well she did  t switch it. Total comes out to 45, cus of upgraded piercing. No problem, just the way they went about it, was sneaky to us. Just be upfront about prices next time, and if a customer wants a basic one, then just give it to them ya know?!!! I don't recommend this place, and will not be going back for the simple fact of crappy service. If you're having a bad day, just go home dude. Don't take it out on customers. Few months ago, I decided that I wanted to get another tattoo for my mama (RIP). A lot of people recommended Bright Ideas! So, I took their advice and made an appointment. I called in a few days in advance and made an appointment with Mike. I walked in and I was very nicely greeted, coincidently by Mike so I didn't have to ask for him. He asked me right away what I wanted and where. I told him and he went back into his little space and sketched me out something. First sketch I wasn't a huge fan of, something was missing to me but I wasn't sure what! Mike, without hesitation and very patiently, went back and literally only added some shading and viola! I fell in love with it and knew that's what I wanted on my body. To be honest, while getting it done, it hurt like a bitch. But, Mike talked to me the whole time and it was distracting me from the pain. He was so nice and funny! I love my tattoo and I think my mom would love it, too. I had a great experience yesterday, getting my nose pierced. Arianna got us right in since I called in advance and she was so attentive and friendly. She even helped me pick which jewelry I should go with. Then she showed serious patience when I had her mark my nose about 6 different times before we found the perfect spot. Then Chaz/Chez (sp?) came over to pierce it and she spent a few minutes giving me an idea of what to expect and she knew exactly what she was talking about. She was great and very friendly. Got my nostril pierced here a few months ago, the place was very clean and the staff was polite. I just feel like the aftercare I was given for my piercing was completely wrong. The woman who pierced me said I could change out the jewelry in TWO WEEKS... so I did. The piercing got infected it hurt so I took it out and let it close. I guess you're recommended to wait a couple MONTHS, I don't understand how she came up with two weeks. Maybe I should've came in with prior knowledge of piercing aftercare, IDK.     When it came time to pay there was also something that didn't really sit well with me. After charging me for my piercing she then, just completely on her own without even asking me swiped my card on her phone's square cash for a tip. This bothers me so much because I WENT IN KNOWING I WAS GOING TO TIP SOMEONE FOR THEIR SERVICE, I even pulled out cash to do so!! The fact that the piercer felt SO ENTITLED was just so off putting. She didn't even ask me she just said, as she was swiping my card, "And we'll just swipe it here for my tip." DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME THE AMOUNT. I was satisfied with the piercing, the quality of the jewelry, the cleanliness, mostly everything except the person who did my piercing. That's just not okay, you don't know how much I could've had on my card that was just very inconsiderate, and rude to assume I'm not going to tip. She just wasn't very friendly to begin with honestly.     I'm just let down, because I read so many goodreviews about this shop, and about that piercer too. Shop had good reviews and was nearby where we live so we came here. I can't speak for the tattoo artists. I don't like the location-as it was a bit difficult to find and is in some run down strip mall by a bowling alley. Took my 12 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced. Piercer did her job, but was not personable at all. She didn't even crack a smile. In this business it's all about your clientele and them passing on your name and how you get business. This past August I decided to check out what would be involved in getting a nipple piercing. After a lot of Googling and calling around I decided to go with these guys. It helped that when I called here they were $20 less than the next nearest piercing/tat place to me. When I showed up I was a little nervous since I'd never done anything like it before but I was put at ease fairly quickly. The guy at the front called out for Chaz to come up and get me. At first I thought she was in a bad mood because she didn't smile or talk much but she warmed up when I started asking questions. She knows her stuff. Confident in her answers. So I went for it. After the piercing she was clear about maintenance and it was all very professional. About a week later I accidentally knocked the little silver ball off the hoop and just could NOT get it back in. After stabbing myself repeatedly with the needle nose pliers I finally gave up. I decided to go back to the shop and ask Chaz if she would fix it for me. I was pretty embarrassed but I knew I needed to get it fixed.She took care of it, no charge. I'm very stingy with giving any 5-star ratings but they deserve it. Sad people had a bad time at Bright Ideas. I had just buried my daughter a week earlier and decided on a mother's/memorial for all my children. Chaz did a couple of piercings for my teenage daughter a couple of years ago and all went well, so I decided to get a tattoo from Jason. I'm a professional that also happens to be a rock musician in the valley, so my tattoo's are on my upper right arm, above the sleeve. Jason did a great job and gave the proper instructions on caring for the tat. 6 weeks later, and the tattoo color looks great and not 1 scab. I love this place! Very clean, professional, and helpful. I came in the day before to make an appointment. Was able to get in by Jason. He was very helpful had great communication skills. Clean and sterilized tools and the tattoo was truly just like what I had asked for. The shop is very clean and has plenty of tattoos to refer to when,just walking in. I watched them complete piercings and I loved how the woman explained to the girl in full detail how to take care of it. She even offered to allow her to come in to help get it cleaned. The first time I stepped foot in Bright Ideas, was on a whim.  I was getting a tattoo with a friend from out of town and we needed something close and available (I know, always a gamble).  We showed up, told the artist (Jason) what we were after and he went directly into the back and drew up something that was so wonderfully different than what I had in mind that I've gone back to see him multiple times.  Most recently, I got a half sleeve and I basically just told him what I wanted (orchids) and let him run with it.  It is more beautiful than I could ever have dreamed of.I work at a college where I am constantly surrounded by students (young and old) and I have given out his information more times than I can count because of all the compliments on his work.  The colors are vibrant, the lines are clean, and it's just really outstanding work.  He has turned me into an absolute snob and I refuse to let anyone else tattoo me. Three have the centers open to look like an A, the forth is closed. he needs to watch the details. a very un friendly shop. a large number of small mistakes can ruin an other wise good tattoo. he needs to learn how to treat customers. needless to say I wont be back. I got tattooed here a while back by Ron and it was fantastic.  He's ultra friendly and a genuinely nice guy in addition to being a high caliber artist.  I can say the same for all of the other guys that work there as well.   A real crew of effing sweethearts with a boatload of talent.   Their piercer is phenomenal, she understands anatomy, and is APP certified.   She seriously and legitimately educates herself and her clients.   So if you want to pay for professionalism and personal improvement,  go to Bright Ideas.  If you want to fool around and leave a shop uglier than you were when you came in,  check out the competition. My family lives in Buckeye, AZ so I went to visit them this past week for the Thanksgiving holiday. My little brother wanted to get his ears pierced and my mom was going to just take him to the mall to hit up Claire's to get them done (since he's only 17, he still needed parental consent.) After I lectured them both on how horrible mall places are to pierce ears (hey...would you want some random 16 year old shoving a sharp piece of metal near your face? I didn't think so...) I did some research and found this place. We walked right in on a Saturday without an appointment and talked to Chaz. She rocks! She went over recommended studs for his ears, was very clear and to the point about his aftercare routine, and even gave her personal contact information if he had any questions day or night. My daughter and I both had work done. My daughter had an 11 yr. old tattoo retouched and had an add-on done by Rob. It was even more beautiful than either she and I imagined it would be. I had Justin give me a portrait I chose of Marilyn Monroe on my arm. I sat for four hours and he was awesome. Two weeks later I sat for the remaining one hour. Another two weeks later I went in for a 15 minute touch up and he then colored in a rose tattoo on my ankle I got 20 years ago. I am more than pleased. I honestly think he is the best and wonder why he isn't known world wide. That's how great it was. The shop is very clean, and the entire staff is very friendly and professional. I have had five tattoos done over 20 years and he is worth every penny. My husband who does not like or care for any tattoos any way, shape or form actually thinks it is the classiest tattoo he has ever seen.
