Sam and James are hands down the Best choice for Tattooing here in Alaska. Sam has been my go too tattoo artist for years and I leave there blown away every time! If your looking for ink then look no further than Dragon Rays! I recently had a cover up done, Sam took a not so great tattoo and turned it into a masterpiece. Not only are the two of them amazing artists they are truly genuine guys. You get work done by two guys you feel like you've known for years. Had a quote done on my chest by James and it came over super clean, I told him I couldn't find the exact font I like but I wanted a cursive type font so he said he would find something for me when I came in and he found the perfect one. This is my first Facebook Review, and the only people I know that truly deserve a review. Sam's done my half sleeve and inner forearm pieces and at least 5 of my boyfriends tattoos. He's probably the only person i'd trust doing by bigger detailed pieces or maybe any of my pieces (aside from James) after my last piece of art. He always makes it a point to move his schedule around because he knows I don't live in town. I've never gotten tattooed by James, but I wouldn't think twice about letting him do work for me. I had 2 pieces of work done here, loved them both, and they both came out better then I had pictured them.  The only reason I feel like I cannot give this place 5 stars is because both of my pieces were not a high degree of difficultly, but if i still lived in AK and had a complicated piece I would take it here, no worries. My old high school classmate had some awesome tattoos done and recommended me to this place. All right cool, I'll check it out. I was off to see dragon rays (back in 2003) in the ghetto part of Anchorage, well not sure if it still is. All I wanted was a star on my foot.  Yes very simple and easy. I would think... right?! He free handed my star, not sure why he didn't use a stencil. Cause now my star looks like Patrick from Sponge Bob(see pic gallery) if I colored it in... one of the points is round and one of the lines is slightly thicker than the rest. At least it is not noticeable unless you stare at it. I paid $50 dollars for a 1 inch star. Read Less
