Unprofessional and completely arrogant towards their customers. I've gotten two tattoos there and had to wait another 10-15 minutes before the artist was prepared for our appointment(which I was completely fine with); today I was 9 minutes late to my appointment and the tattooist, kaitlyn, refused to tattoo me and demanded another $100 deposit and refused to refund me. Was incapable of listening and reasoning with me. What makes the situation worse was that I made a $50 deposit for a nose ring earlier this year and I was told that it would come in within 2 weeks and the ring didn't come in until 3 months after I had already payed for it. Obviously didn't get my deposit back either. A complete joke of a business that upholds its work far higher than it really is.

The only place I go to for tattoos. Their designs are superior to work I've seen around town, they're clean, and they're professional. If you're used to basement tattoos then their prices might seem a bit pricey, but for someone looking for a high quality tattoo that they're not going to end up regretting, the prices are more than worth it. Absolutely love this place

Twice in two weeks my artist was a no show to an appointment. First time he forgot apparently, second he's at the hospital, but they have the schedule book there with contact numbers, someone could have called to prevent me and others from wasting their time.

I didn't end up getting my work done here, r in Alaska at all. But nice was on vacation and called around to all of the shops. This is by far the cleanest and most professional one. There are some really nasty ones in town. They are usually busy though, and I didn't make an appointment. That's the only reason I didn't get my ink done.

He is a master at his craft and it now shows on my shoulder. What an artist! The shop was great; the staff was helpful and friendly; I will definitely recommend to my family and friends. I've been getting tattoos from Kaitlin for a while now and I've never had anything to complain about. She does amazing work, her fellow co tattooers do amazing work. The whole atmosphere of the shop is simply marvelous. Kaitlin is by far the coolest tattoo artist I've ever met and completely appreciative that she's been tattooing me. There's never a dull moment in her booth. If I were to recommend anyone to get a tattoo, I'd for sure send them to above the rest to see Kaitlin or anyone else they see fit to do their tattoos.

I have gotten a couple tattoos from Katlin. having had bad tattoo experiences in the past, Working with her was a fresh breath of air! Her Line work is amazing, she really understands what a client wants, and can translate it to a stencil without a problem, her art work is spot on! Every day I get compliments on my neck piece, my back piece and my thigh piece! Chris and everyone else at Above the Rest are super friendly, you walk in and you're instantly welcomed. Sydney is super kind and does great piercing as well as some beautiful tattoos! The shop is clean, and the atmosphere is relaxed. You go in wanting a tattoo and you come out with a one of a kind piece of art and a few more friends. Definitely go down to Above the Rest tattoo for you next work of art!

I have gotten a piercing done by Syd and also one tattoo, soon to be two. The shop is amazingly friendly and courteous . The art being done here is top notch . Every staff member is very good at what they do. Jake and Sydny are probably the friendliest people youll meet and very professional. Ill never get another tattoo or piercing when I'm up here unless its at this shop. Even when i come to visit my folks ill always book something to support Above The Rest !

I've gotten 2 piercings and a tattoo from Sydny, as well as a separate tattoo from Kaitlin. During both piercings Sydny made sure I was comfortable and didn't have any questions. I almost passed out on one and she immediately had me lay down and give me a lollipop and let me stay until I felt better. She was also extremely helpful after the piercings if I had any concerns about how they looked (too swollen.) Both Kaitlin and Sydny made sure I was comfortable while getting my tattoo, making sure I was okay, asking if I needed a break etc. Out of all the shops I've visited this is by far my favorite. I will never go to a different shop while up here.

The only place I go to for tattoos. Their designs are superior to work I've seen around town, they're clean, and they're professional. If you're used to basement tattoos then their prices might seem a bit pricey, but for someone looking for a high quality tattoo that they're not going to end up regretting, the prices are more than worth it. Well, I'm impressed! I had a wonderful day at the shop and a great experience with my artist, Jake. I can't say enough how pleased I am with his professionalism and expertise! I've been getting tattoos from Kaitlin for a while now and I've never had anything to complain about. She does amazing work, her fellow co tattooers do amazing work. The whole atmosphere of the shop is simply marvelous. Kaitlin is by far the coolest tattoo artist I've ever met and completely appreciative that she's been tattooing me. Every day I get compliments on my neck piece, my back piece and my thigh piece! Chris and everyone else at Above the Rest are super friendly, you walk in and you're instantly welcomed. I've gotten 2 piercings and a tattoo from Sydny, as well as a separate tattoo from Kaitlin. During both piercings Sydny made sure I was comfortable and didn't have any questions. I almost passed out on one and she immediately had me lay down and give me a lollipop and let me stay until I felt better. She was also extremely helpful after the piercings if I had any concerns about how they looked (too swollen.) Both Kaitlin and Sydny made sure I was comfortable while getting my tattoo, making sure I was okay, asking if I needed a break etc. Out of all the shops I've visited this is by far my favorite. I will never go to a different shop while up here.
