I am a traveling haunt actress from Hawaii, acting at The Greenville Haunted Firehouse down in Greenville this October. It is a tradition for me to get the haunts logo tattooed, as my badge of honor after acting. Deb and myself drove down to Capital on the recommendation of a fellow haunter sister to see Neil. We had no appointment, walked in with basic design in hand; and Neil could not have been more professional, helpful, and a hoot to spend basically four hours with. The ...perfect gentleman, as I laid there in cheekies. Neil did some minor alterations and add-ons to our design, and gave us both excellent tattoos. Basic black and gray shading, one with some minor color, approx 9"x5", and both on thighs. His 26 years of experience is more than a bonus with his technique, chair side manner, and skill. I am not a newbie to being tattooed nor do I have extensive knowledge. I can say I researched the other tattoo shops in Montgomery as well as each artist, looking for that one artist for me. I can tell you I visited each shop and spoke to each artist. I found that the other shops and artists are either rude, stuck up on themselves, act like they are doing you a favor, etc.... I visited Capitol City Tattoo 3 times before committing to my choice. Every single time both guys were extremely knowledgeable, approachable, willing to help and sit and talk about ideas and what will work and what won't. These guys are a class act and down to earth great guys. Neil is the gentleman that tattooed me and I was so impressed I went back 3 weeks later to get more work done. Went in for a piercing a YEAR AGO, it was my first piercing ever, so I had no idea what to expect but there was only one guy there at the shop and he was a big fat bald dude with a gun on his hip and he was incredibly rude to me and my boyfriend, I was nervous and he did nothing to ease my nerves. He pierced through my cartilage, and put in an eyebrow ring and said it was the best septum jewelry because I could flip it up. He had no idea what he was talking about. I went to get the jewelry changed and put in an actual septum ring and it was low and crooked as all hell. I didn't even know he used an eyebrow ring, I must have looked ridiculous. And a year later, after I took it out to heal I still cannot re pierce it yet because it's so fucked up with scar tissue. Read Less

Worst experience ever!!!! The owner or main guy who "runs" the place is very RUDE! I have been to the shop a couple of times with different people and his dismissive and "know it all attitude" is just awful. I quite frankly don't think he knows what the heck he is doing. He pierced my friend nose and it sunk in and got trapped in her nose. She had to get the skin that grew over the piercing cut.Read Less

This place is the best! The artists are great. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. I will never go anywhere else to get a tattoo. The place is very clean and huge. They have the best selection I've ever seen in any tattoo shop that I have been to. If you can't find it, they will draw it for you. Their the best!! Read Less
