So as far as tattoos go, they are pricey. But you get what you pay for. Want a crap tattoo, well there is 50 dollars well spent. Want a work of art, pay for it. But for the consumer follow these rules and you will love what you get. 1. DO NOT GET NAMES TATTOOED ON YOU EVER! unless it is your mom, dad, or children. 2. TRY to not get sayings tattooed on you...cause one mistake..and well..no such thing as a skin eraser.. 3. GO FOR SYMBOLISM... finally...this place is awesome, their artists are great. and i am happy with mine. I still have to get it finished, cause i couldn't take the pain after 4 hours.. and my artist was awesome, not heavy handed, and i have had some heavy handed tattoos done. Just had my first tattoo by Tony this afternoon, a Celtic knot armband based on my wedding ring to embellish my late husband's signature, which I had already had done seven years ago right after he died. Tony designed it based on a photo he took of the ring. It took two hours, and in addition to being a great artist, Tony was also conscientious, taking time to get the stencil in just the right place, and a friendly and fun person to spend the time with. I have quite a few tattoos by quite few places here in Huntsville, but this place, is by far, the best. I am very indecisive and Derrick worked with me the entire time until we got exactly what I wanted, even during the actual tattoo process. I changed my mind throughout and he worked through it all and produced a product that I absolutely love. There is not really a way to justify the level of Rock's talent. Not only does he offer a professional, clean and well structured environment but he is respectful and kind. he makes getting a tattoo as meaningful as it should be. He is very gentle with such a painful thing. The space he has created to provide this special experience is so calming and welcoming, you'd never picture getting a tattoo to be so beautiful. Rock truely amazed me. Im beside myself. This gentleman made my dreams come true. literally. he took the idea i had, and turned it into a masterpiece. My tattoo legit looks like someone took a picture of the animals glued it onto my skin. Hes shading is better than i have ever witnessed on another persons body. My experience at The Platinum Koi was beyond Memorable!!! Beautiful Studio that was warm and welcoming. The staff was very friendly and made me feel right at home. The atmosphere was very motivating and upbeat. The skill level of all Artist was on a different level; Rock was very welcoming and humble about his amazing talent. There were only positive words spoken about other local artist which was very nice and showed support from the Platinum Koi. Def need to check out Robert Colston Jr. his skill level and drawing capabilities set him apart from other Artists. The up and coming Joshua-Ryan aka JR. is one to be watched. This place is AMAZING..Rock is the BEST I had family in town and we wanted to get my granddaughter her first tattoo. We were supposed to go some where else, but they wouldn't take appts. over the phone and kept putting us off. So I called around to fortunately for us no one answered their phones. Except for Rock, who was at his shop on his Birthday. I explained what wanted we and there was a few others that wanted some small easy tats. He said that he was planning on taking the day off, but that we sounded so interesting that he would stay and do them for us. I warned him that we were all addicted to tats and there may end up being more. When I walked in he immediately knew who I was, and as the rest of my horde walked in, the lobby became full. I thought he would be overwhelmed but No he and the rest of his team, embraced us all. We explained what we wanted and he put his twist on them. We ended up with a total of 8 tattoos..even Alan took 1 before his apt came in..and he did a Fabulous job. We have such a GREAT time. We will not ever go to another place for tattoos. My husband and I went there on a Saturday night and luckily I got Alan to do my first tattoo which was very large and on my ribs. He does GREAT work and causes little pain! His lines and shading are so perfect. Meanwhile, my husband was going to be tattooed by Rock, and we had appointments, but Rock kept putting people in front of him until we just left. He put a total of 4 others in front of my husband that were walk-ins. I was really pleasantly surprised when we visited Platinum Koi. The environment was warm and welcoming. ..it was like relaxing at a friend's house. Comfortable couches, chill lighting, movies on projection screen, pool table, and good conversation. Oh, and the tattoos! I got my 4th tat and it's my favorite! I didn't feel like I was in a tattoo shop; I honestly felt like I was hanging at a friend's. I'm already anticipating my next trip. Without a doubt one of the best shops Ive been in. Fast, friendly professional service in the coolest and cleanest environment to chill in while you wait for your artist to draw your design; pool table, arcarde machines, lots of big comfy couches to chill on and watch a movie on their projector.
