I was skeptical at first because I'm not from Huntsville and I don't know this shop BUT my friends and I went in for tattoos at 10pm without an appointment (the shop was empty) and Mike was so amazing! My sister and I got tattoos last night and we were absolutely impressed and ecstatic with how they turned out. Mike was our artist. His attitude and work was amazing. It was a very comfortable and friendly environment. I have 10 tattoos and have never been close to as satisfied as I was with the one he did. He will definitively be my go to tattoo artist from here on out. He is a perfectionist and goes above and beyond at his job. I'm sure they're great at tattoos and piercings but I went it earlier today and I was told he'd be in at 6 so I go back at 6 and then I was told he wouldn't be there until 7:30, I don't have the gas to waste to go back and forth so if you're going to be the specialist, it'd be nice if you were there on time for the customers. Will absolutely NEVER go here again. Made an appointment Feb 20th, at 10pm. Got to the shop at 10 and there was just a lady at the front desk. She asked us if we could come back in an hour because she had to go pick Mike up, (tattoo artist). We understand that things come up so we left. We come back in an hour just to be told that she went to "get him" and he told her that she needed to head back to the shop and call him when she got there. ???. She called him and his phone w...as dead. At this point we were pretty irritated at how unprofessional this was. The poor girl was still in training and tried to help us to the best of her ability, but this was out of her control. This was the artists lack of responsibility. The girl took our number and said that she would call once he answered. It's been 24 hours and no call. Needless to say, we rescheduled somewhere else. If you're not able to make it to an appointment that YOU scheduled, then at least let us know that it's not going to be a good night for you. We shouldn't have to drive back and forth from the house to Bama Tattoo wondering where the artist is. EXTREMELY unprofessional. I went in for a nose piercing back on 12/15/16. I was originally referred to Amber by a colleague, but discovered that she no longer works there. No biggie. I went ahead and let the owner of the shop pierce me, and all went well.  He explained the process beforehand, as well as while he was doing it. He also educated me about nose piercings in particular, and what to expect during the healing process. I was pleased with my piercing, and I'd recommend Bama Tattoo to others. Read Less

I went here for a forward helix and Mike was my piercer. He was super nice and knowledgeable about the proper jewelry that would work with that particular piercing. He was very quick about his business, but not in a rushed way. Very clean and really put me at ease by talking and joking with me, even though I was only a little nervous. IF YOU READ ANY REVIEW, MAKE IT THIS ONE! DO NOT make an appointment with the owner/artist Mike Moore. He was the one that set the appointment time of 1:30 on a Saturday. We waited for 5 HOURS - that's right 5 - and he still never showed up. His wife Amber seems nice enough and I understand she has no control over what he does. While being there so long, apparently this is a recurring thing for Mike and does it all the time. WHY would you do that to people??? He apparently has no respect for other people. Amber seems great and was very busy doing piercings but I can't speak to how well personally. We drove for over an hour to get there and Mike knew we were making that drive. I will never recommend this place! I got a conch piercing & I wanted a long bar through it, but she insisted that I get a short one! Yeah it's super short!! I got this done months back! It's been struggling to heal! I went to see my tattoo guy today and his new piercer who did my other ear after Bama Tattoo, and it was sunken into my ear!!!!! He pulled out the one she put in and it was really short!!! If I had waited any longer, it would have had to be surgically removed!!!
