Kao did an amazing job on both mine and my husbands septum piercings. This is the second septum piercing I have ever had. My first one was done by someone else and it healed up. They make you feel right at home and they are all together a bad ass shop. Super clean, reputable, and over all amazing. Will continue to come here from now on! Read Less

Got my nose pierced by Kao today! (Nothing major) but he still was amazing! It did not hurt AT ALL! Several years ago I got it done at the beach, not only could they not mark it right the first time it also hurt during and after! Ummm... Facebook is asking me to write a review so I guess I will. I think it's pretty safe to say if you have a bad experience with Kao, it's not him, it's you. He is a little crazy, but most creative types are. Totally kidding. He really is a good guy and very talented. He's got my business (and anyone else that will listen to me) until he's too old to work. I went in Artistic Ink with a tattoo in mind that I had planned for awhile to honor my two children with autism. I wanted a cross with autism puzzle pieces inside and angel wings with the kids' names under the wings. When I spoke to Kao about my idea to get an estimate of the tattoo cost, he advised me against the winged cross unless it was in memory of someone as that's what wings and crosses initially meant in the tattoo world. I had never thought of it that way and I appreciated his honesty as it wouldn't of been a cheap tattoo. Instead I chose an open heart design filled with autism puzzle pieces in the hearts. The entire experience was wonderful and I've had LOTS of positive comments on my tattoo. Kao, and Jeff are some of the best artists in the area. I have recommended my family, friends, coligues, and acquaintances for years. I know that Kao, said in his bio that he has gotten away from his Japanese roots but, he is argueably the best Japanese artist in North Alabama. I went there for session after session an koa kept tellin i cant get this an cant get that cause they were cover ups..spent 2500 there..now im getting hus stuff redone.. U could still see the cover ups underneath. The owner jeff even replied wow they look great well thats not what all others said.. This guy jus wants ur money an just because he has a tattoo gun he thinks ges an artists.. Well i beg the differ...was not happy an was thinking about taking him to court...now i have a real artist taking care of his mistakes....i would beware about goin there...i guess what do u expect iy is n alabama. Redneck tattoos.. And also u have to hold ur breath while sitting next to him because the breath is strong.. Almost made me sick couple times...they need to remember this is our body that everyone will c.. And not easy and not cheap fixin there mistakes...I do not recommend goin there.. When u have someone spendin money like i did an was they should want to keep u there an take care of u.. There a joke.. I honestly hated my experience there. First when I walked in the guy asked me why I even wanted that piercing like he was laughing at me and then he pierced it in the wrong place and I had to go get it repierced. I will not be going back there. The only good part was the nice lady sitting up front that greeted me and that the shop was clean.Read Less
