I walked in and I talked to them about what I wanted (Which was simple lettering) and they went back and forth on who wanted to do it... like I wasn't even standing there.... so first they didn't want to do the tattoo cause it could be difficult to do my ribs??? Just left from getting a tattoo commemorating my half marathon. The tattoo was done by King Dee and it's amazing! First he worked with me around my schedule, once we got the appointment set he drew up my request and asked if he could add some of his flavor too. I agreed because I love when artists puts their "signature" in their work! While working he ensured I was as comfortable as I could be, he checked on me throughout the entire process and he did a great job!!! My Boyfriend and I were walking around 5 points in Birmingham, AL when we happened to walk past an artist working on a portrait outside a store. I stopped and complimented the artist(Jake) because I was blown away by the level of detail and lifelike appearance of the picture. Jake Dimenna introduced himself and after talking a minutes few he said that he was also was a tattoo artist. We went inside Wicked Ways Tattoo and he showed us some of his work. Great experience. Former Retired Marine that hasn't had a tat in a long time. Found one that meant something to me. Jake Dimenna was my artist. A true artist of many talents. Retired graphic artist from DC Comics in California with a plethora of talent in many forms. Graduated on scholarship from huge art school in Savannah Ga. The shop looked awesome with all of the new murals and was cleaner than ever. Jake did an amazing job on my tattoo and had an incredibly light touch even though my tattoo was in a really sensitive spot. He let me know that up front and helped me come up with a plan for the best placement with the least amount of pain. Very knowledgeable, professional, and all around nice guy! Went here 2 days ago 5/10/17 to get a belly button piercing and it seem like I would have great service and a great experience I was wrong. To start the person who pierced my belly button Jake seem like he didn't know what he was doing and had to pierce me twice which was painful. When I finished all looked well and fine until the next day I went to clean it and it was too far above my belly button and to far to the right, it was extremely noticeable. When I seen this I called and the person I spoke to a female who's name I do not know laughed when I told her who did my piercing. My question is why are you laughing? Secondly I made the decision to remove it and it immediately started to puss up, and I'm not understanding why when I did even have it 24 hours and I was cleaning it with what Jake gave me which was "supposed to be sea salt". I asked if they could re-do and they immediately said we don't do refunds. I didn not ask for a refund I ask could you correct the mistake being that I paid $40 for a crappy piercing. The shop manager said I could come back when my original piercing heals and get it repierced free of charge. Although it seem like I had to break his arm just for that. If you're going to be considered a place of business you need make sure your customer service is superb and your artists know what they are doing. Everyone says the same thing about this guy randy . And it is very very true . He is very rude and lack customer service skills. He likes to agrue with his customers  thru text or on Facebook . Instead of trying to resolve the issues in a professional manner. And that's not right .He  doesn't take ownership for what  happens in his shop at all  and likes to throw his employess under the bus if something is not right . Randy u are the shop owner and you are responsible for your staff, their training , their  behaviors , and their clients. I have never seen a business  owner that  curses  out his clients. Ok so I've read a lot of these 1 star reviews. Seems to me that those are personal attacks from another tattoo shop VS true "I'm not happy" reviews. Let me just give you my unbiased review. Starts off that Saturday I had an appointment at a completely different tattoo shop. Well that didn't work out. (If you want to talk about unprofessional, ask me about that experience). Heartbroken, I refused to go home without new ink. So I called some people I know and they sent me to So...uthside. I found the shop I was told to go to and had to park blocks away (this does play into the story, just hang on). So my friend and I get out and start walking towards the shop. We finally (hence all the walking) get to the tattoo place and go in. (I looked at her and asked if she was sure this was the place and she said yes....you'll understand that later). We were greeted right away by Diamond and Dee. Showed them what I wanted and Dee jumped on it right away. Now here's the part that really burns me up when folks talk about there bad tattoos. After Dee drew up my tattoo he brought it to me to look at. I had some issues with it (I would have anywhere I went). Told him what I wanted changed. Long story short, he worked on it for a little while as well as the other artist. But you know what? They came up with what I wanted. Life lesson here for all those who have gotten tattoos they are not happy with......if your not happy with the drawing TELL THEM, don't put it on your body and if you do still get it without being happy with the drawing, you deserve to have an ugly tattoo. Anyway, so then comes the tattooing. I had 2 previous tattoos from 2 different places and I must say, Dee was by far the best. Now I'm not just talking about how the tattoo looks because all my tattoos are beautiful (I wouldn't have put them on my body if they weren't). I'm talking about how easy he was with the actual tattooing process. Needless to say, I am over the moon happy with my tattoo, my artist and everyone else that I came into contact with. I am 2 days post tattoo and it is healing great and I hardly even notice that I was tattooed. Remember where I said we walked in and I asked my friend was this the right place? Guess what... it wasn't. We were actually suppose to go to a different shop down the street!! But it was however the right place I was meant to go. I have been looking for someone that I can work with to do more tattoos. I found them!! As soon as I'm fully healed I plan on having a side piece done. So there it is....a real review from a real person who knew nothing about the place or the people there. I had not even looked them up to read reviews at the time I was there. In all honesty, I have no idea what their artist's tattoos look like but I think it's safe to say that I will never be coming here and I will be more than happy to talk anyone out of coming here. The way the owner responds to bad reviews is extremely repulsive. Many times he tried to correct the reviewer's grammer but would then misspell simple words and would also use improper grammer. I don't care what kind of business you run, customer service is everything. Your business is there to serve the customer. It was very puerile for the shopowner to harass a family via Facebook just because they were unsatisfied by their experience. Rather than owning up to his mistakes and trying to find a way to make the situation better, he decided it was a good idea to make fun of the mother and threaten to put a picture of their child on a pedophile site. I don't know what all the commotion is about but I wanted to share my experience with this shop. July 4th 2014 I got my first tattoo at this shop, I cannot remember the gentleman's name that tattooed me but I was so happy with how he treated me a "tattoo virgin." I came in with no appointment and wanted a wrist tattoo, they got me ready and started tattooing in about 15 minutes. My tattoo artist was extremely patient and didn't make me feel like I was an inconvenience when I needed a second to let my pain level to go back down. Also, if you receive crappy work, don't approve of their nasty ways of dealing with people or never get acknowledged and walk out, then you leave a bad review, they will personally attack you.
