I went to Evol Ink Studio for the first time on last week to pick a new triad Neometal tragus earring for my left ear. Misty helped me and she was very personable and professional. She put in my new earring for me and I was throughly impressed by the sanitary steps she took to put in my earring. It made me confident to get pierced there so I inquired about some piercings I was interested in. Misty took the time to answer my questions and even educated me on why a previous forward helix piercing I had failed. On yesterday, I decided to take advantage of the Black Friday sale Evol Ink had (20% off) on piercings. I chose a white Opal Neometal piece to go in my new tragus piercing for my right ear. The process was seamless and it didn't hurt. I felt a pinch and that was it. Misty told me about aftercare and advised me I could come back in 2 weeks to downsize my earring so the back would be flush with my ear. (She used a longer bar to accommodate the possible swelling in a new piercing.) I recommend Misty for any new piercings you may want. I know I want to get my forward helix pierced again so I'll be using her again soon! I absolutely love that you have the option to buy pretty, quality jewelry to go in your new piercing instead of the plain old silver ball or bar. Heres the deal. I got my nose pierced last night at a different place. It was....terrible. So today, i went crawling to MISTY aka THE GODDESS OF PIERCINGS and asked her to fix it. Guys, Misty knows what she is doing. She gave me a full education on nose piercings and fixed my piercing. I can not recommend Evol Ink Studio enough! These guys are absolutely fantastic and nailed with the tattoo I got here. I had Brian draw up and design a tattoo I had been thinking about for awhile and he totally killed it. I was even on a tight schedule to get it done and he stayed open late to accommodate me! I scheduled an appointment to have three ear cartilage piercings done. Misty was amazing! She was very patient and diligent throughout the entire process. She even helped me with picking out/ordering jewelry for my piercings. Initially, my friend and I arrived with ideas in mind for how we wanted our ears to look prior to piercing, and with Misty's guidance and advice, though we weren't able to have exactly what we wanted due to anatomical issues, she made sure we left with beautifully pierced ears that both my friend and I would be happy with! My daughter and I went to get matching tattoos as a gift for my upcoming wedding. We have talked about doing this for years now and thought now was the perfect time. Jake was our artist and I must say I was over the moon impressed on how our chocobos came out. It was better than we could have hoped for. The hours they had listed on their website and the door said they were open until 8. I showed up at 6:30 and the door was locked and nobody would let me in. I could see people inside and when I called their phone number, nobody answered. Awful customer service would not recommend. Read Less

A few months ago I walked in with my boyfriend who was inquiring about an apprenticeship. Was totally dismissed by the three guys working there like he wasn't good enough or something. One even said "We wouldn't want you" I was planning on getting a piercing but their attitude towards him made me take my business elsewhere. Read Less

Only giving 2 Stars..... The tattoo artists are great! The piercer sold me the wrong size plugs! She even measured them infront of me and at the time I believed her just cause of not knowing how the measuring process was done. But now since I know how to PROPERLY use a measuring wheel and have gone to 2 different shops we all came to the same conclusion. Wrong size.... there's 40 bucks down the drain... Read Less

Jake White is the man. He hooked me up with an original design of his. It took him four hours to complete my thigh piece and it was worth every minute and every penny. I recommend this studio to everyone I meet with tattoos. I made a stupid mistake and went to cloud nine one time instead of Evol. I just got my first tatoo at Evol (2nd overall). John Riendeau was my artist. I am so impressed with Evol and John. The shop is clean and open, and John is a great guy. I researched this Studio via Yelp as well. I liked what I saw, enough to pay them a visit, and met with the owner. The facility is very clean, well organized, and more professional than any of their "competitors" around town -really nothing else came close on overall environment (cleanliness, equipment, furniture), and I had been to 7-8 others in the Birmingham area. After meeting with the owner, we came up with the design that I wanted tattooed, filled out the necessary paperwork, and he began within the hour. The process was over within the time period he had specified, and he was professional. My main, and really only, concern came with the actual service rendered. I followed all steps that my artist told me to take for proper care of the tattoo afterward. Two weeks later, the tattoo looked extremely faded, with ink missing in some spots. I was reassured that this sometimes happens -based upon the body of the person getting the tattoo. It was just frustrating that I had to find time in my schedule to drive 35 minutes across town, pay another $amount to have a different artist do the touch-up (the owner was out of town for several days), and go through the "afterward" process over again. Discovered this place off of yelp. Both times I called, the girl that answered was sweet and helpful. When I walked in, I was a bit nervous to be honest. They have weird things on the walls, and a haunted house kinda theme..lol. But when I was greeted by Demi, I felt super comfortable. She has the best vibe, was super informative and made me feel like it was nothing. She pierced my nose. In the room everything was super sterile, I could smell the clean-ness haha. She was the bomb. I was in Birmingham on work. I got a day off so I wanted to get a tattoo. I called a few stores and when I called evol I spoke with Demi. She was friendly over the phone. Most other shops weren't. When I got there she greeted me with a huge smile and put me at ease right away. Her whole demeanor was amazing. She quickly got me set up and we were on our way. She had amazing conversation and I usually don't talk to my artists but she just had an amazing aura that made me want to continue talking. Her skills are undeniable and her touch with the tattoo gun was like non other I've had before. If you are in the area go see DEMI. Everyone else in the store weren't as friendly or welcoming. I had been wanting to stop by here for awhile as it's not too far from my house.  The shop, to my eyes, appeared very clean, the staff very friendly-not in that forced sense because they need customers-but genuinely friendly.  The gentleman that I initiated conversation with was Vin.  I had originally just planned on talking about a tattoo idea I had, and get an idea of pricing for it. After a great conversation with Vin, I decided to move forward with the tattoo right then and there. Vin was great to work with, open to suggestions to his adaptation of my design. We worked together to get it 'just right' including the font as well as placement on my forearm. Conversation during the tattoo was effortless.  There's a great camaraderie between Vin and other staff as well.Payment is easy too-you can either pay by debit/credit card, paypal, and they also have an atm on site, which was what I used; since my original intention wasn't to get a tattoo that day, I had no cash for tipping.Overall a great experience, friendly/knowledgeable staff, easy ways to pay, and I'm extremely happy with the work that was done.  I will most likely go back for my next tattoo. Showed up here during their hours, and the place was closed. I'd spoken to the piercer the night before on the phone, so I was confused. As I was about to leave, a woman in the parking lot (presumably also a customer) told me that a staff person would be back soon to open the studio. Yeah...I left. The service itself might be okay, but if I can't trust a place to be open when they say they'll be open, I sure as heck am not going to trust them to pierce me! Read Less

I got my nose pierced here about a month ago. The service was great, the piercer was very knowledgeable, and the room I got the piercing done in was very clean and private. I would recommend going to evol, especially if you are new to piercings and are worried about cleanliness and about picking the wrong shop to alter your body. Read Less
