My tattoo is fine but the attitude there was just so negative. I took a friend to get her first there and they were very judgmental of her tattoo (a religious symbol) and mine (GPS coordinates). I had to fight hard to get my tattoo the way I wanted it because the front desk person seemed to have this whole other idea of how my tattoo should look, despite it being a really simple tattoo. The artist was extremely unfriendly and didn't do anything to help reassure my clearly nervous friend... until she took her shirt off. Then suddenly he had cute little flirty remarks and laughs. I honestly wouldn't have thought anything of his harried attitude because these guys are artists, not customer service reps, until he got all friendly for my topless friend. Super creepy. Worst experience I have ever had at a tattoo shop. I have gotten approximately 10 piercings over the course of my life, and I have never experienced anything so infuriating. If you are looking to get a piercing, I suggest you go somewhere else unless you have 4 or 5 hours to spare. The pierces are actually quite good. However, the receptionist is frosty. It took her over 10 minutes just to acknowlwge my existence in the shop. Furthermore, because the shop does not take reservations, unless you get in when the place first opens there is no telling how long you will have to wait. The receptionist is not truthful about wait times so you will look up and it's already been two or three hours. The only reason I didn't get my money back and walk out is because I had already invested damn near 6 hours over 2 days in order to get the piercing. SERIOUSLY, don't waste your time. I've wanted my tragus pierced for the better part of a year and I have talked myself out of it a million times. The timing just happened to work out for me yesterday when I stopped by Cloud Nine to get more information on pricing and the procedure itself. Everyone was so incredibly friendly and helpful. When I met Aaron and saw how he interacted with staff and clients, I knew I had made the right decision. He was so patient with me and my nerves! I went last night to have my daith pierced. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. Every employee was nice and helpful. I did have to wait a while, but once I saw how thorough Aaron was, I wasn't upset about the wait at all. If I could give Aaron more than 5 stars, I would. He washed his hands several times and changed his gloves many times. Everything was very clean. He explained everything he was doing from start to finish, and made me feel super relaxed and comfortable. I have struggled with migraines for over 15 years, so I really hope this helps. The tattoo that I got was absolutely nothing like what I asked for. It doesn't even deserve the one star honestly. The tattoo looks like a child drew it with marker on my leg. I will never come back here. I got the bad tattoo here, and about two hours later, I went to tattoo jungle and made it look 1000% better! Yesterday I got a tattoo piece done that turned out amazing! I love how cool the staff was about my inexperience in tattoo's. They gave me advice on location of the tattoo also on the colors used. Not only was the staff knowledgeable but they were personal. My tattoo was a piece of my dog that had recently passed, Karri the owner sat in on the tattoo and listened to my story and comforted me. My artist Marcos did a fantastic job. I researched as many tattoo shops as possible, Cloud Nine was an easy choice and one I'm glad I made. The shop was clean, organized, and professional. i just got my navel pierced at cloud nine tonight and i was very very pleased. i had gotten my navel pierced before at a different location and had a less than stellar experience and less than acceptable barbel and cleaning instructions. aaron at cloud nine was fantastic. he has a very soothing voice, very helpful to those who are nervous or if it is your first piercing. he was very calming and very thorough. the entire place was clean and friendly. i was actually nervous walking in but was greated shortly and they made me feel very comfortable right from the start. once i was taken back to a piercing room, he drew exactly where the piercing was going to be and let me look at it beforehand to make sure it was exactly where i wanted it to be placed. basically they did everything right. and afterwards i have had no pain on the piercing and it feels great!! i highly recommend Cloud Nine for piercings to anyone looking for a clean, thorough, welcoming piercing parlor :) Read Less

Just thought I'd share what I know about Cloud Nine Southside. I recently had two permanent cosmetic procedures done there. My eyebrows & eyeliner look so natural, no one has even caught on. Not even my guy who wakes up next to me every morning! :-) It's been so great, when I hop out of the shower I don't have to run for my mascara. I don't have body piercings or tattos so my experience in this area is limited. You can be sure I checked this place out before I went ahead with the procedures. I can tell you that once you see how clean Cloud Nine is that you'll be impressed just like I was. The Staff is friendly, helpful & the best part was I didn't feel rushed. After all, I wanted to be sure it was perfect since it was going to be on my face for the rest of my LIFE! I might add that I'm over 50...... WTF- I don't know what studio any negative reviewers went to, but it obviously wasn't Cloud Nine... I drove out from Atlanta to have a pre-existing tattoo added to, and couldn't be happier with the work I received. My artist was Ed, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend both the artist and the studio to my friends and family. I walked out of there with the tattoo I had always wished I'd gotten the first time around, and was proud to show it off as soon as I could, barhopping in B'ham. Also, I was just as happy with the customization of my tattoo as I was with the quality. Ed took my pre-existing work and expanded on it entirely freehand. NOBODY else out there has my tattoo! I've had work done in close to a dozen shops in the southeast US, and I've never seen a shop where they had their act together as well as at Cloud Nine. I mean- they've got their Health Dept inspection on the wall for you to look at (flawless), as well as their autoclave spore test report on the wall for you to see (also flawless), their floors are buffed and waxed, the walls are clean, the employees are entertaining to say the least, and it's just a comfortable place in general right down to the tattoo chairs themselves! Plus, I watched Ed change his latex gloves close to a dozen times during my tattoo to prevent any chance of cross-contamination, and every needle he got out while working on me was BRAND NEW. It's true I'm not a doctor, but I don't know what else they could possibly do to flat out ELIMINATE the potential for any kind of infections at Cloud Nine. What the hell else could you ask for from a tattoo shop, really?!? I really don't know what else to say, I just felt compelled to leave an *accurate* and *honest* review after reading some of the other BS reviews on this page- some conveniently posted ""Anonymously.""
