CONFEDERATE NOTICE/RETRACTION: It was brought to my attention in response to my previous post, that the Slow Fade tattoo establishment did not commit Confederate discrimination against local Alabamian. According to a compatriot liaison on the behalf of the Slow Fade, the proprietor & some of their tattoo artist who work there are hard core Confederate supporters & are bikers with deep extreme Dixie leanings.. and who also have Confederate tattoos on their own bodies... and... that they do Confederate tattoos for clients. The Slow Fade denies that they or their employees used "race" was "racist" as the reason for not doing a Confederate tattoo. The explanation I was given was that they had issue with the "size" of proposed imagery on limited area of the skin to tattoo the art work on. Considering the response, and given that this is Dixie minded Biker ran establishment, and that Bikers have come to the aid of Confederate flaggers when we were out numbered, I have removed my previous posting. This place is ran by bigots that HATE the people of Alabama that are of the Southerner or Confederate ethnic group. Their bigotry and blatantly discriminatory attitude is very unprofessional . Especially for a place that does art. The ST Andrews cross on the blood stained banner is the NOT a hate symbol and doesn't represent any particular race. Southern is a culture and way of life. Simular flag still used today by African Christians fighting Islamic terrorists and is flown on various Russian ships as well. So only reason to refuse a Confederate tattoo is pure hatred or willfull ignorance and bigotry. Read Less
