I just got a tattoo done by Ollie Pinder and I couldn't be happier - Ollie works in a variety of styles and I was not sure what to expect, but when I saw the design it was 10000% what I wanted. The lines are clean and smooth, and his use of colour is superb - wonderful shading and watercolour effects! The customer service and professionalism here is exceptional. I recently got a fairly large upper arm piece for my birthday. Having sent some designs and pictures over to Sean, he went through absolutely everything to help Adrian create a really lovely personal design, Sean was always contactable and answered all my questions promptly and professionally. When I arrived I was fairly nervous as this was my first "proper" tattoo, but was made to feel comfortable and made calm by... the very relaxed yet professional environment. Throughout the process, Adrian ensured I was as comfortable as is possible, I can't even begin to describe how happy I am with the work. It's a very clever and beautiful design and I can't stop showing it off! After the tattoo I got more than adequate after care advice from Sean and contact details for any questions. The Magnum Opus studio looks the part of a professional establishment - inviting with a fresh and exciting vibe - somewhere an artist can be creative. You can see that everyone enjoys working here and it shows in their work. I was quite nervous for my first tattoo but the whole team made me feel immediately welcome in what I could have been an intimidating environment - something I did not find when having consultations at some other studios. The service from the entire staff was friendly and personal with emails / phone calls going direct to the artist. My consultations with Phil were great, both in store and via email he took my ideas and ran with them - creating something unique that I wanted and he could be proud of. The artists are proud of their work will not put their name to a piece they are not happy with. Perhaps most importantly, the studio is clean and hygienic - with no exceptions. Phil explained how the equipment works, where the inks come from and knows his trade inside out. Very reassuring. After-care is explained thoroughly and you are welcomed back for a check-up once it has begun to heal - A tattoo for life! The work at Magnum Opus is quick and efficient work at no expense to quality. Some might call the tattoo's expensive but I believe you get what you pay for - A good tattoo is not cheap and a cheap tattoo is not good. Phil was especially patient and understanding while I acted like a wimp during my rib tattoo "The ribs are a tough place dude!" Not being a tatooee (I waited for an hour for one once then got the fear at the last minute) I have to rely purely on aesthetics to get an understanding of the world of ink. Since they are going to be permanently altering your body with imagery, I suppose its pretty imperative that a tattoo shop looks cool and the shop frontages of Brighton's tattoo parlours are some of my favourite looking shops in Brighton. This one has gone all out iconic typography and even a medieval coat of arms defending the right to get you all inky. Read Less
