DEAD SLOW- a long established tattoo and piercing studio in central Brighton. Formerly Nine, co-owned by resident artists Jack Applegate and Kirsty Simpson. Jack and Kirsty have owned the business from November 2014 having both worked at Nine for six and a half and two and a half years respectively. We have resident artists Jonny Breeze, Harry Robbins, Sean Hill and Mr Heggie. Guests are always welcome and if you're interested in either please email [email protected]. I had a tattoo done here by Sean - he's so lovely and professional, and I'm very happy with the result. He makes sure you're completely happy before he starts, and explains what he's doing as he goes ...
I had a tattoo done here by Sean - he's so lovely and professional, and I'm very happy with the result. He makes sure you're completely happy before he starts, and explains what he's doing as he goes through e.g. what level of pain to expect with different parts etc. I've had lots of tattoos so I'm reasonably used to it, but it still helped knowing what was going on! Great guy, reasonable price & incredible results.

Quick, easy and (relatively) painless nose piercing for a reasonable amount. Would easily recommend people use these guys if in town.

Great atmosphere, really nice place and the staff were fantastic. I can't vouch for all of their talents, but Josh is an absolutely incredible artist and did an amazing job. I'm so happy I went there.

Today I had a quiet bad experience in this tattoo shop. I've been booked an appointment with a deposit left about 3 weeks ago for getting tattoed today by Jiiran, a guest from Korea. I came into the tattoo shop today and upon arrival the receptionist moved the appointment 4 hours later, saying to me that I came in the wrong day, and admitting the mistake just when I showed him the card they gave me (with the booking details). After this, he phoned me up to move the appointmen...t to another day (???) because they didn't arrange it well and feeling not that sorry for that. Not professional at all, never again. Take it is easy guys! See More

Kirsty at Dead Slow was brilliant, it was my sons 18th and his first tattoo, I'd had work done there a few years back with Jack which I was really pleased with and I wanted my sons first experience to be a good one. They didn't disappoint. Kirsty created a fantastic piece and despite it taking 3 hours she made him feel really at ease, all the staff were welcoming and the hygiene was excellent .

My partner Fred and I have been coming to Dead Slow for our tattoos with Jack for the last 4 years! We travel from Essex but the 3 hour drive is totally worth it! Jack is amazing, between Fred and I we have had 6 large tattoos by the talented Jack. We have been so happy with all of them and often get complimented on them. Dead Slow itself has a great atmosphere with friendly and welcoming staff...different from other places I have been. Can't compliment the place enough, great work team Dead Slow! Can't wait for my next tattoo in 2.5 weeks time!
