Ministry of Ink is the most welcoming tattoo shop you'll find for miles. The artists are lovely, they enjoy upholding a conversation and they make getting a tattoo or piercing a much more enjoyable experience overall! The artists have fantastic show cases of their excellent work and all take pride in the quality of their work! Would definitely recommend 10/10 to anyone wanting a tattoo or piercing ! So around the time of August/September I came in to have Roman numerals on my upper thigh. Overall it cost £40 for a like 10/15 minute job, and for the size was over priced. I am assuming it was done by an apprentice because it was absolutely awful, the line work isn't straight, it wasn't even filled in correctly and he has scarred the underneath of my skin so it is dramatically raised. I ended up having to go and get it fixed by another tattoos, who then advised that she ha...s done the best she could but because he has damaged the skin so much it's actually hard for it to look good. I was not advised that the person tattooing was an apprentice, I would have declined it if so. If I could upload an image on the reviews of what the artist tattooed I would but it won't let me. I have been frequenting this shop since it opened. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I have had 8 or so tattoos from El Tragico at the shop, and he has been very considerate and thorough in terms of design suggestions and placements. I will absolutely be going back to get more work done and I would recommend this to my friends and family. Its a really good tattoo shop. Read Less

I got my first tattoo done by Elizabeth - one of the artists here, at her previous studio. I followed her here to get the rest of them done and not only am I sticking with her amazing work but the rest of the guys at the studio I would happily let tattoo me. All the staff are fantastic, really welcoming atmosphere. The artists are all incredibly talented, I have had several pieces tattooed by El Tragico, and couldn't recommend him highly enough. He is happy to talk through what will/ won't work in a design and work out something that not only looks fantastic, but is also a piece that will stand the test of time and puts you at ease from the moment you arrive. I found the staff nice and welcoming however, a tattoo artist by the name of "El" turned me away because, my tattoo designs were to small and to hard to do? Which they weren't. A whole week was given in advance to neaten up my designs etc, but he decided to draw up ONLY TWO OF MY DESIGN CHOICE? That were in the wrong size and without detail... nothing? What the hell?! Possibly not skilled enough, If they were that hard to do? I would prefer a message letting me know in advance that they couldn't be done instead of telling me on the day leaving annoyed, upset and with nothing but my deposit. I live far 1 hour and 40mins away so all that way for nothing. I wasted my time with the Ministry of Ink never going back. Had a tattoo by Buddy on Saturday. The whole process from designing the piece through to the actual tattoo, was really professional. Buddy made sure I had exactly what I wanted, where I wanted and did a brilliant job leaving me with a beautiful tattoo that I love � (Although apologies for the gratuitous swearing throughout the process �) All of the staff here are talented, professional and amazing friendly - I was immediately put at ease, and while I can't really say that I 'enjoyed' getting a tattoo in a fairly painful place - I'm really glad that I had it done here, and would thoroughly recommend these guys to anyone!!
