Came to see Sam at Carpe Noctem following a word-of-mouth recommendation from a colleague and really glad I went here for my piercing. Sam was extremely professional while remaining friendly and down to earth. Premises are spotless and Sam invited me check the equipment was sealed and sterile and answered all my questions beforehand. The "moment of truth" took seconds and after some more questions and aftercare instructions both written and verbal I left grinning, almost so much I nearly forgot to pay! I visited Carpe Noctem end of November to have my nose pierced by the lovely Sam who put me at ease and even (jokingly) reprimanded by pre-teen daughter for saying I was too old to have a nose piercing!! 👍 I'll slip you that fiver for sorting the cheeky madam out later Sam) 😉 Sam explains exactly what is going to happen and is particularly thorough regarding the aftercare 'do's' and 'don'ts' .... Even when she does clearly give instructions though, there's always that one foolish customer (in this case me), who does not listen. Sam did tell me to, at least for the first couple of months, put a plaster over the piercing when showering/washing my face as all it takes in rubbing your face under the shower for the stud to fall out & one that happens, it takes literally seconds for the hole to close up and for you to not be able to re-insert the nose ring. Only a few weeks after having my piercing done I completely forgot to but a plaster over my nose before jumping in the shower and low & behold....the nose ring fell out. After immediately washing the nose ring, I tried to put it back in but, (just as Sam had predicted), there was nothing doing... I rang Sam this morning with my tail between my legs, telling her what happened and she got me in straight away. She first tried to push through the skin herself with a special tool but then when that didn't work, we came to the conclusion that there was nothing for it other than to re-pierce the nose. I am now once the proud owner of a diamond stud nose ring and have promised that Sam that I WILL NOT be showering without putting a plaster on it for a long, long, time!! Went there for a tongue piercing and a Jacobs ladder and Sam who done the piercings was extremely professional and made us feel very comfortable!
