After knowing this place doesn't always have the best reputation for piercings, I choose to use it only for ones I feel they literally cannot mess up. E.g, ear! They pierced my scaffold with a straight bar, I later learned that it's meant to be 2 separate bars until it is healed. Obviously because of this, it didn't heal and was in constant pain (I'm very good with piercing and tattoo pain, but this was extreme) I took it out and spent 10 mins stopping the blood from pouring all down my face and neck 😟 Anyway.. My second piercing is a surface piercing by my ear.. Which has been pierced with a bar a little too short and balls way too small, so now the balls are disappearing into the holes and I have to keep pushing them out so they don't get stuck in my face 😑 I will be going to pulse to get these sorted out after I've asked for my money back from here! Extremely disappointed. Finally, the friend I came with got her tongue pierced wonkey, she has also removed her piercing after being unhappy. I already wouldn't come here for tattoos as they messed up a small one on my friend and it looked AWFUL! Now I wouldn't come here for piercings either 👎🏼 Read Less

Negative reviewers are barmy, or from some time ago. I have been to other studios within Northampton and none can quite compare to Alternative Art. Not only did I come away with a quality piece - a true work of art, the artists and staff were friendly, not gruff and intimidating like other studios. Love my ink and will be returning in a few weeks time for a touch up ... might even get more done while I'm there! Read Less
