Went here today to get our 10 year old daughters ears pierced. We had booked Claire's Accessories but had seen such bad reviews and didn't like the idea of the gun piercings her ears. We were so pleased we came here instead. Ollie was kind and patient with our daughter who was a little frightened. They use needles instead which is meant to be less painful. They also use screw front earings so no butterfly backs to contend with there was also fantastic aftercare advice. I was also impressed with how sterile it was, exceptionally clean. Just been in to get my Daith pierced. Been tattooed and pierced here before and have always loved the vibe and staff. The Piercer (think he is called Olly, sorry if i am wrong) was friendly, approachable and very reassuring. He offered sound aftercare advice and made sure i was feeling okay. Just had a great full day at Factotum with some fantastic work on a half sleeve from Josh Fisher. I would recommend both Factotum and Josh to anyone looking to get some ink - whether you're a relative newbie like me to an experienced tattoo-er. As a studio it's welcoming and friendly, immaculately clean and a nice place to hang around for a day. I had a piercing done here a few weeks ago. I have followed the aftercare advice they provided and I started having trouble with my right lobe piercing. As they were shut today, I had to go to another piercing place in town and the lady in charge of piercings there was genuinely shocked. I wasn't given the right length bar to fit my new piercing and the swelling. Turns out that my earring was buried underneath a new layer of skin starting to heal over because they gave me the... wrong earring, not long enough, and they are apparently prioritising fancy looking stuff over the right stuff. It was painful to fix and it shouldn't have ever been like that. Also I was told that they gave me the wrong aftercare advice - they told me to use saline solution bought from a store, when in fact it is way better to make up your own salt solution at home because you don't know how much salt is actually put in this store bought stuff. Now, at the grand old age of 44 I'm probably not your average tattoo virgin, but Marco made sure he talked me through my chosen design to make sure I was completely happy before he started work. It was my first tattoo and I was super nervous. However the staff were very nice and friendly and it was easy to relax. I had Marco do my tattoo and I would go to him when I want my next one. Super nice and listened to me and worked with me to make sure my tattoo was perfect, asking me about the colour and checking with me before we started if it was right. He chatted to me all the way through and make sure I was okay and let me take breaks when I felt nasuious. Emma has resorted my faith in tattooists it has taken me 4 years of searching to have a cover of a cover up of a badly done tattoo started. From the moment I meet her she made it easy for me to imagine what she had planned for me using her iPad and she had a completely professional approach which put me at ease. We decided to use Factotum for my daughter's (14 years) ear piercing. Having initially discussed this with Olly on the phone I was impressed with the time he took to talk me through the whole process of piercing. I wanted to go down this route rather than the gun method to cause less trauma to the lobes. We visited the shop to meet Olly and he put in extra effort to locate the jewellery we specifically wanted. The place is immaculately clean and everything used sterile. Olly talked us through each stage of the process and my daughter is over the moon with the end result. I thoroughly recommend Olly for piercing - he put us so at ease and was a lovely guy.
