01/09/2017 First time visiting Devil's Scribe on the recommendation of a friend, went for a piercing. I've only got 2 existing piercings in my lobes from when I was a kid, so was a wee bit anxious. The place is clearly very popular, and it's understandable why - we went on a Friday afternoon, filled out our questionnaires then were able to go for a bite to eat for an hour instead of hanging about. When we got back we didn't have to wait long at all. The waiting room was relaxed and the staff were friendly. Becca done my piercing for me, she is lovely! Sadly my lugs are too wee for a scaffold piercing, so I opted for a helix instead. Becca marked out 2 spots on my ear to choose which I'd prefer. The second I lay down all anxiety went out the window. The room itself is very clean and sterile - surgical almost, and all precautions appear to have been taken eg gloves, tissue on bed etc. No pain at all - it was over and done with very quickly and gently. Becca went through the after care sheet with me and advised I can go back in 6 weeks for a check up, and have my jewellery changed if I wanted. I got the piercing done about 3 hours ago and have already caught the bug, I want to go for another tomorrow! 10/10 I am definitely going back soon for my next piercing. EDIT: 28/04/2018 Finally went back for piercing number 2! Arrived Saturday morning around 10:45, filled out my questionnaire and was taken right away. The place was scrupulously clean, and as before Becca was great! It definitely wasn't as sore as I thought it would be - probably due to her gentle nature and coaching my breathing.... This place is great! They take their work serouosly, but everyone here was very friendly and helpful! As a person getting their first tattoo, I really enjoyed my experience here and will come back for a future tattoo. My artist was Laura, and she was really great and patient, especially considering that she was recreating an etched in silhouette of an animal from a cracked necklace, which was really hard to see. Went in here to get a piercing because I had heard about the good prices. Decor was nice, but the atmosphere was horrible. Girl at the desk was rude, patronising, and in general made me feel uncomfortable. I didn't have ID with me but that's never been a problem before because I am 20 and have several tattoos so haven't needed to prove my age for something as small as a piercing. She told me that I "look 15" and said I wasn't allowed, and in general was very condescending. Not a friendly place for people with anxiety or other mental issues. It's a shame, as I have been impressed by the work of the tattoo artists here. I'll come back when you hire nicer staff. Read Less

Had my first tattoo done by Shirley who was an absolute star. She drew out a beautiful compass, incorporating parts of design from various drawings I sent over. The studio is really clean and comfortable and everyone is really friendly. I can't recommend it enough. The artwork, cleanliness, and the aftercare instructions are exactly the types of things I'd want for my first tattoo experience and Shirley definitely made my first time better. I have only gotten piercings and jewellery changes done here but the quality of service has been immense. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and I love visiting the shop whether is be for myself or when I'm going with my friend. Highly recommend! The staff are so friendly and easy to talk to and all of the tattoo and piercing procedures are professionally done and beautiful when they're finished. I liked the place, and I am mostly happy with the tattoos I got - however, not only did Shirley blow her nose while doing my tattoo (wearing her gloves, something I only realised after the fact) but she didn't actually finish my larger piece. There are two lines that aren't filled in and meeting, as they should be, which means I now have to pay someone else to fix it, as I don't live in the country and can therefor not return to have it fixed until next year. I would probably return here on my next trip, but would then ask for another tattoo artist. Read Less
