I was in England for my 25th birthday (from Utah), and decided to get a tattoo to make my trip memorable. I've collected tea sets my whole life, so it just seemed appropriate to get a permanent tea set from England. Mike Rea did my tattoo(s) for me. I got a tea pot, and tea cup on the top of my feet. I knew I wanted it to be really feminine, and flowery. He listened to me, and drew up a custom piece that I absolutely adore! He was so patient with me as we were trying to figure out the right placement for the piece, and was SUPER patient with me when he was actually tattooing me. My feet kept twitching, and he was so nice about it. He kept up conversation, which made the experience so much more enjoyable! After he was finished he gave me great instructions on how to care for my tattoo, and prepped me for my flight home (a 17 hour trip). I can't say enough about how great Mike was, I just wish I could send all my friends to him. Since I can't, I'm counting on all you Google reviewers to go get tattooed by him! Everything about my experience was great, from the cleanliness of shop, to the friendliness of the staff. I loved it all. I traveled expressly from Madrid to get a tattoo of my very admired Simon K. Bell, and I can't be happier about the result. He is a talented, cordial and extremely kind artist. He made me an incredible tattoo, faithfully collecting my requests and suggestions, and raising them to a much higher level. The studio staff was very courteous to me. I had my second tattoo there last year, and I was quite disappointed. The tattoo artist is good artist but my tattoo didn't look as good as I expected. He forgot one detail which was the most important and personal to me. I had to come back a few weeks later, but when I came he wasn't there. So I had to come back a 3rd time. But he couldn't add the detail he'd forgotten. The tattoo was quite expensive for what it is... Now I'm trying to see how I can have it covered or modified, because I don't really like it. Everyone hears mixed things about design for life but you only get to see how great the studio is when you experience it for yourself. I've got both my tattoos from here and a piercing and I couldn't fault any of the staff or process. I was so nervous as I had a bad experience with a bad tattoo in the past but I can honestly say I loved it. I had a lion done at the top of my leg by Schrail he was amazing and it hardly hurt. Been here for my last 2 pieces and I absolutely love the place. Staff are all friendly, helpful and really approachable, but more importantly, the artists are all amazing. The studio is clean and sterile and just the general vibe of the place is awesome. The artists all walk around and chat to you and each other, and each artist's booth is individual and full of personality. Simon Bell has designed and inked both of my pieces and the guy is just ridiculously talented. Couldn't be happier with the work he's done for me. I'd seriously recommend that anyone check out his artwork, as well as his tattoo gallery, just to be blown away by the quality of his work and the raw talent he has. I've been both tattooed and pierced, and also had laser removal at the studio, and have always had nothing short of a brilliant service! The caliber of work is exceptional due to the variation of artists offering pretty much every style you could wish for. The piercers are clean and professional, and the after care advice is of a high standard through out the whole studio. Not only this, but they also run one of the best tattoo conventions in the country in my opinion. What more could you ask of a tattoo studio? Here on vacation with my boyfriend we both got tattoos today. We walked in around 2pm knowing that they close at 6pm and they said they could fit us in near the end and they kept their promise. I had my tattoo on Saturday and I couldn't be happier. The guy who did it helped me to design it as I only vaguely knew what I wanted, the way he has done it is lovely, I'm really pleased with it. I had a rainbow of stars on my lower leg.  The guy even explained that some of the colour may not take and that he would try another colour in a couple of weeks if this did happen, to me this is very good customer after care, up to now the colours are bright and vibrant. So I went here for a tattoo once. They went though the design with me and everything, I was filing out the waiver and I asked about medication as I said I have asthma. They turned around and said "oh you need a letter from your doctor". They then took the sheet out of my hand and screwed it up and threw it in the bin. They did not securely destroy this even though it had personal information on it.I went to another studio who said asthma is no issue. In fact every other studio has said no problem.I decided to give Design 4 Life another try. I went in for a nipple piercing, and found the staff quite arrogant and condescending. One even told me that nipple piercings on men look stupid (did I ask his opinion? is it his job to pierce or tell people what to do with their bodies?). The guy who pierced me seemed shaky and inexperienced.I left the piercing in for about 2 incredibly painful months following their aftercare to the letter. It would constantly swell up and cause me pain. It was never even straight, like wonky and not even placed evenly through the skin. I ended up taking it out and getting it repierced elsewhere and it seemed healed within 2 weeks.Basically if you want arrogant talk from people who think they are great and perform poor quality work, this is the place. I have a friend who's a tattoo artist and he rates the service and quality in this place to be top notch so I would highly recommend using Design 4 Life on his behalf.Not only do they offer a variety of unique tattoos designed by their in house artists, but they will help you develop an idea or indeed copy an idea that you take in for them. The staff go out of their way to be friendly and helpful and you never feel intimidated going into their studios. They provide a wide range of designs on the wall and in books and magazines to choose from, but are also more than happy to create a custom design at no extra cost. The piercing side of the business is equally as excellent. The piercers are experienced, highly trained and knowledgable about their jobs. Design 4 Life is a professional, award-winning tattoo and piercing studio.  They offer a wide range of tattoo designs or of course you can suggest your own designs.  Analogously with piercings, you can have a piercing almost anywhere you wish on your body.  Prices start from £30 for a tattoo and £15 for a piercing.  Artists and piercers are very helpful and provide all the information you need prior to your request, plus there is also a detailed website where you can browse at your leisure.  Personally, I do not have any piercings or tattoo's but if I were to consider one in the future, then this is the studio I would get it done.
