The Crooked Rook was opened in 2016. With excellent custom tattooing from the area’s finest tattoo artists and an emphasis on customer service and hygiene it’s easy to see why we are so highly regarded in the tattoo industry. We continue to maintain and improve our high standards of tattooing which makes us very busy. We can only offer pre booked appointments and do not offer a walk in service. If you would like a tattoo please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your ideas. Follow us on our social media sites to keep up with latest news, guest artists and new work. Every tattoo is important to us, from consultation to aftercare we are on hand to help.

What a hidden little gem of a place in Hemel. Had my first tattoo done here with Jim, who I must say was very patient leading up to my appointment as I was undecided what to have.. finally agreed with a design (my sons initials) Jim simplified it and I love it! Jim went through what will happen & put me at ease I was starting to feel nervous.. Sat in the seat and no more than 25 mins later BOOM it was done....The Crooked Rook was recommended to me and I'll do the same if anyone was to ask me. It's a thumbs up from me, you never know I maybe back for more! Well done peeps!

Had two tattoos here now and couldn't recommend it enough. Really nice people who really know what they are doing, make you feel at ease and somehow enjoy 3 hours of pain!

Modern and very clean. All staff were incredibly friendly. I went in for a cover up, which Jake and Lewis helped me through the whole process. I couldn't be happy with Lewis's work. Wouldn't hesitate ...

I got tattooed by Rachel today and I honestly think she's the best tattooist I've ever been to. It wasn't as half as painful as I was expecting her design was awesome and she was really good with help...
I got tattooed by Rachel today and I honestly think she's the best tattooist I've ever been to. It wasn't as half as painful as I was expecting her design was awesome and she was really good with helping with size and placement when I asked her advise. Would highly recommend and it's a lovely quiet studio as well will definitely be back.

1 word for rachel...AMAZING! me and my sis went for a piece each. can i just say firstly that rooks customer service was amazing...loads of tat shops can make you feel uncomfortable but i felt so welcome! such proffesionalism and a level of tattoo hygiene and that is impeccable! thank you also to Edie (sorry if mispelt) for changing my tragus stud! will be back for my cover up touch ups and any other piercings and my sister said shes getting her work done with you guys from now on (she lives in croydon!) thank you again you guys are amazing! ����
