Got a tattoo done by the lovely Bekki yesterday afternoon! I initially enquired about availability and price for an idea I had for a collarbone tattoo via Facebook, and I was dealt with promptly and professionally at all times by Nat. After agreeing and loving the design that Bekki had drawn up the day before the appointment (which, by the way, far exceeded anything I had originally imagined!), the fab customer service continued. The facilities were absolutely clean and modern, I felt completely at ease throughout the appointment and everything I needed to know was explained well. I had my first tattoo done yesterday by Bex. The whole experience was brilliant! She really put me at ease, was really friendly and we had a great chat whilst I was being tattooed. Had a long thin tattoo done - a tape measure - a pretty simple design but obviously needed to be accurate. The artist took his time doing the prep (took longer than the tattoo to do) but I'm so glad he did! The tattoo has now healed nicely and unlike my other tattoos its not raised at all. Think its because he wasn't rough with it. Very happy with the results. The actual studio is really nice too, a good vibe and really clean - I especially liked the hand soap in the toilets! Me and my husband have both had tattoos done at flesh great experience very friendly staff. My husband has had a full sleeve, chest piece and an old tattoo removed. The work on his arm is amazing and the detail is incredible. His chest piece is script and I also had script done by Janis his attention to detail was very reassuring and took his time to make sure it was perfect. I've had a tattoo done there in 2013. It was a simple design, straight forward lettering which was unfortunately done very clumsily by an artist called Ela. The studio offered free partial laser removal and correction. Since then I've been to about 5-6 laser appointments. Recently I started looking into an option of having it completely covered up because the skin didn't seem to heal after the laser. After consulting three different studios (and a dermatologist) I learned that my skin has been badly scarred during the laser treatment. So not only did I get a bad tattoo from Flesh, but also have been left with ugly scarring. Not a great experience and I wish I'd never gone there, although the studio certainly projects a very positive impression. Read Less

I had a tattoo by Bex yesterday. What a top girl she is! The design was beautiful and her talent is immense both on paper and with a needle. I had a tribute piece which is just fantastic. She is easy to talk to, warm and friendly, I had a good giggle with her whilst she was tattooing me. I love this place all the artists make you feel welcome even if you're only in to see the one artist. I have had some work done by Alex recently and absolutely love it.. i went in with a design and he made it his own which was amazing. I love an artist that can do that and not stick to the exact design that way you know your getting something unique. I wouldnt go to any other tattoo shop now. I waited until my late 20's to get a tattoo as it's something I wanted to be sure of and boy was I glad to have found Flesh. The studio is sleek, stylish and above all very clean and hygienic. The process for booking in consisted of a meeting with the artist to brainstorm ideas and discuss what having a tattoo is like and then a quite detailed q&a assessment regarding my health to ensure that I was suitable. I was so pleased with how professional and thorough they were before they even began! The artist for my larger piece spent at least 30 minutes ensuring that the design was positioned correctly and would have optimum effect. He asked me to relax and read magazines or play on my phone as he likes to concentrate and ensure everything is perfect... again something I really appreciated. The tattooing itself was surprisingly comfortable for both my foot and thigh and I was asked continuously if I felt ok and needed anything. I was absolutely delighted with the results and followed the aftercare instructions which resulted in no issues whatsoever and the tattoo is pristine. First went in to enquire about getting my wife's initial tattooed on my wedding finger, they said the could do it and also asked for a batman sign on my wrist. A day later thought about gettin the batman sign bigger they said they could do it but when I got home and thought about it I decided to stick to my original idea. Phoned flesh to confirm I wanted to stick to my original idea but they then said they would not do a finger tattoo. Slightly annoyed I went to get my batman tattoo, booked some time out of the office to get it done. Got to flesh, filled out the necessary paperwork. Waited for my tattoo stencil to be printed of but the printer "broke". Very very dissapointed, I paid £30 deposit , which they still have but I will not be returning there again. Had mentioned Flesh to a good friend as they said they also do cover ups, which my friend needs doing. After my experience I have advised them not to bother and go else where. A week of hell and a contorted, scarred and infected tattoo carved in to my leg.  I was initially drawn to Flesh as it looks clean and professional. I felt in safe hands with friendly staff so I went ahead with a small tattoo on my leg on 10/2/2015. The tattoo seemed massively overworked and a week later I am left feeling ill with an infection. Concerned, I went in to Flesh for advice and the tattooist did not spot it was infected,  with the only after advice from the owner to tell me it is likely to be my fault as I turned up with a bandage when they advise not to. Anybody with a bleeding burning tattoo on their leg would know to cover it up when outside, as advised by a GP when I had to seek medical treatment. I am now on a  4 week course of antibiotics and I am told given the heavy work I will likely be left with scarring. I have been given a full refund- but the support and advice I have received in my view is negligent. I would give anything to have this horrendous mark off my leg and the last week of my life back.postimg.org/image/t88r1l…The tattoo is small with minimal detail and the shading/outline together would barely fill a playing card. After 2 hours of tattooing in a small area I felt very sore and agitated, my instinct was telling me something wasn't right. When I left Flesh I was off work and looked after the tattoo as carefully as possible. Everything felt OK at first. By day 3 and 4 the burning and pain was increasingly intense. The next day I woke up to thick black bloody snake like skin was hanging off. I am now left feeling ill with infection, time missed from work and a horrid scarred mess on my leg for life. I thank heavens I took precaution and sought medical advice as the GP informed me this could have got worse.  Please be careful especially if you are new to tattoos, there is probably only a small risk of something going seriously wrong- but you want to be as sure as possible if it does the shop has your back, know what they are talking about and most of all are concerned  first and foremost with your safety. Getting a tattoo is not a simple decision. In my opinion, there should be a long time spent on the decision process - for the placement, design and (importantly) where you'll have this permanent piece of body art actually done.Luckily for me, I have two close colleagues who have both experienced Flesh Tattoo and said that it was the best experience they have had; one girl has had 6+ done and discussing her next with Flesh, and the other had her 3rd done here.After a few months of back and forth earlier in the year, I decided to go ahead and take the plunge. I did some research on the 3 artists at Flesh to look at who would best fit the style of my chosen lion design. Ela, Neil and Janis all have their own unique specialties, including watercolours and cartoon-esque images, but I decided to book in with Janis based on his simple but powerful black and white outlines.I was reassured from the moment that I met Janis that I made the right decision - as soon as he saw my proposed design he was thinking of ways to make it more unique and really stand out. I paid a £30 deposit for his time and returned a week later for the 'big day'. The studio feels very clean, with a welcome area the front (in which you complete a health questionnaire for their records) and the actual studio at the rear. It's all open plan, so you can't exactly be body conscious! I felt in very capable hands throughout the process, with a few breaks taken - both for mine and Janis' patience! - and, a few months down the line, am still as in love as I was from the first moment I saw the finished piece. I was constantly being offered water, tea and sweets to ensure my sugar levels were okay, and there was a great atmosphere from the other members of staff. You can take a friend along, and even choose the style of music you want in the background.They proudly take photos of all their work and offer touch ups for free if you find any sections fade/haven't taken during the healing process.Totally recommended.
