Unfortunelty I have had a very negative experience with this tattoo shop. I have actually been very worried about leaving this as I'm so embarrassed about what I have been left with. I cried for 2 weeks and I haven't shown anyone other than other artists to get their opinion. I contacted this mortal coil regarding my complaint and my email was responded with an offer of trying to fix their mistake in which I declined, due to a lack of trust and asked politely for a refund and stated that I was deeply upset and wanted to use it for lasering, they have chosen to ignore it. I chased up and still no reply. I was originally ill advised as to what they could do regarding a cover up. I actually stated that I was willing to have more laser on the original tattoo in order to get what i wanted. However I was told this was not needed. On the day I do not recall having to fill anything out or being asked any questions. When the stencil was applied I was advised it was a peony like the one above as I couldn't see it properly due to seeing the other tattoo underneath, I also advised this. Now I was nervous enough as it was but I'd vetted the artist. Constantly checking out their work and their reviews. Been told several times how amazing they were at cover ups etc. So she went to work. With the tat being located on my ribs I could barely see during the process it but I was excited too. However when it was finished I just didn't know what to do or say. I have anxiety and really worry about confrontation. So I paid and acted normal. When I got home I couldn't even look in the mirror. I couldn't see a single peony anywhere. Just what looked like cabbage leaves with worms dotted throughout(what several have reffered this to looking like). I asked the tattooist what had she done and she said she had done a peony to which i asked can you please point it out for me on the tattoo as I must be being silly but I can not see a peony. They then replied to say she doesn't understand as she thought I was happy. I then chose to write to the shop formally. They also are yet to let me know where in the array of worm infested cabbage my "peony is hidden" and also to respond to my emails. I only want a refund so i can pay for more laser, which is going to cost a fortune as now I'm starting again with a bigger peice in an area for me which scars. I can't wear anything that will show my middle on and I'm dreading going away. As I said I didn't want to leave a review but I feel I have been left with no choice. I have spoken to other artist who can not believe what has been done and were utterly shocked at whose work this was. In an artistic industry it is extremely important that you deliver a true reflection of work as to which you share when advertising. Anything below these standards and the client is entitled to a refund. I have screen shots and copies of all messages and emails and what was asked for should anyone wish to see these. Absolute 5 stars from me for my first tattoo. Popped in a few weeks ago to discuss it, and booked in for this week. Matthew really got what I wanted, even though I was rubbish at explaining it. Had a great day yesterday in This Mortal Coil Studio! The studio is relaxing, bright and everyone is friendly and welcoming. Kat is such a professional, clever and talented artist - I couldn't recommend her highly enough. Kat designed and tattooed a really special piece for me and I am so pleased with the results! Great Studio with mega friendly and down to earth staff, everyone is sound and there is a top atmosphere in the studio. I've had 5 sessions with Gaz Farmer now and his work has always been bang on what I've wanted every time, he always spends time with you to work out exactly how you want it doing and ensures it will look spot on. Had a leg piece done by Dan Hancock which was also spot on, but every bit of work I've seen done whilst I've been in there by every artist has been of a top standard.
