I got my tattoo a couple weeks ago by Miles (it was a walk in). The people there were super smiley and friendly! It's my second professionally done tattoo and I love it!!! This place is fantastic! I checked in for my appointment and they already had the stencil ready, they took the needle out of the sterilized packages and called me in. I've had a few tattoos the first one being in 1986 and so I've seen how techniques and designs have evolved to what they are today. This latest tattoo is by far the best. It is an extension to an old (15 years plus) existing tattoo and not all artists are willing to work with a design that wasn't originally theirs. But this wasn't a problem for Miles. He listened, he asked loads of questions and he took photos at my consultation. When I returned he had designed a beautiful extension. Far better than I had described and I thought I was good at giving out instructions! It was a 20 hour job spread over a number of sessions so not a small extension by any stretch. Miles was totally professional throughout and for a near 50 year female (I'm seriously going have to get my birth certificate changed!) that's important to me. With regards the other tattooists and the studio ... the studio was spotless and the other tattooists were all polite and friendly. I was asked if I minded if they had a look at what I had had done and were respectful of my privacy whenever they came near. I left with a fully discussed 'aftercare' procedure. Only 2-3 days worth of instructions but I had no doubt as to the best way to help the healing process and prevent infection. More information than I had ever received in the past. It was several months ago now that my friends and I went to Frith Street to get matching tattoos. Prior to our appointment a friend of mine stopped in to get quotes on the price, and show a sketch of the design - a small pineapple. We were originally told it would cost around 60-80. When we arrived the day of our tattoo with the same sketch in hand, they told us it would cost 120! We had to have it done then as we were leaving the country so we agreed just to pay it. But this resulted in one of our friends not being able to afford to get it with us. The girl at the front was quite rude when we were asking her questions. I was first to sit for the tattoo. I was a bit nervous so I asked my friend if she could talk to me to distract me. We weren't talking loudly or being obnoxious but were then rudely told by the girl at the front not to talk, it was awkward. I do still love my tattoo, but looking at it closer now there is a small error in the outline of the pineapple, which is disappointing. The only compliment I can give is that the artist was very professional, he drew up a better design than expected very quickly and repeatedly asked if I was comfortable during the process. I had been traveling around in London for a couple of days and wanted a small tattoo. This was one of the only shops open past 6 pm so I went for it. The shop is small and open and full of people who look qualified to give a decent tattoo. The process was easy. I pulled up a picture on my phone, airdropped it to their computer, told them the size and where I wanted it and they made it happen. I have a couple tattoos already so I knew what to look for in terms of cleanliness and service. I just accepted the 80 pound minimum since I was a tourist with last-minute decision-making skills. Seemed clean. They wore gloves, took needles from the packages, no worries there. Service was chill, but almost too chill. They talked more amongst themselves then they did to my friends and I. I am not even sure I caught my artist's name. Having a bigger piece already on my body, I know they get annoyed with small tattoos but I expected a little more conversation. I've got 3 tattoos and my mum has quite a few too and all of them done at Frith Street! Love this place! Everyone is really friendly and take the time to discuss your tattoo ideas. I've had Miles Better tattoo me and my mum and he is great! You can tell that all the artists here are passionate about their works of art. Some people may find it expensive but the cost is easily explained: you pay for what you get and trust me it's worth it. I've got a few more tats planned and believe me I'll be back to get them done. At the beginning of the month I walked in and was warmly greeted by the amazing and knowledgeable staff. I wanted to get some writing on my forearm and they helped me figure out the placement and what phrase to get tattooed. I was set up with an appointment for 4 days later with the extremely nice and talented Miles. On the day of getting the tattoo Miles walked me through the steps even though I knew what to expect and he began working. It only took about 20 minutes from start to finish and I am so happy with not only the tattoo but the overall experience. I am definitely coming back to get more work done. I have completed my Japanese Half sleeve at Frith Street Tattoo and can highly recommend the studio there. My artist was Miles, and he is not only very talented with a steady hand and great with the shading detail, but was also great to work with. In leading the direction of my tattoo design, he listened to my ideas, including what I did and didn't want. I asked a lot of questions and he showed good patience- unlike a number of other artists I had met at other studios who were quite arrogant. I visited Frith Street Tattoo to have my first tattoo in my left bicep, and I can't express how happy and satisfied I'm with the result (I have put a picture of the tattoo for you to see). This shop was personally recommended to me by a tattoo artist I greatly respect.  It was easy to miss (basement shop) but I'm from California so I was probably tripping out on "hella crazy" Soho vibes.  The woman who greeted me and helped me schedule an appointment was a sweetheart.  I came back at the scheduled time and met Miles, my artist- coolest dude ever.  Down to earth, friendly and a super sharp wit and had some great stories to tell.  Most importantly did a solid traditional style banger on my arm, wasn't heavy handed, and worked FAST.  It's healing great.  He created a really relaxed friendly atmosphere, I would definitely recommend him to anyone who wants solid work done and wants to listen to some great music while getting their skin and nerves tortured. I recently had my largest piece to date inked by Jordan Teear of Frith Street Tattoo. This is by far the most artistic piece I have ever had and the one I am most pleased with. My roughly 9 inch by 4 inch black and grey piece took around 1 hour and 45 minutes of work, prefaced with about half an hour of tracing my drawing and placing the stencil. The shading was done free hand and it absolutely blew my mind. Jordan Teear is the real deal. He deserves to be one of the most in-demand artists in the world. Just remember that good tattoos aren't cheap and cheap tattoos aren't good. However, it's going to be on your body forever, so why not get the best available?With this caliber of artist in resident at Frith Street, they will continue to be one of the top rated tattoo parlors globally. Nearly walked right by this place! Good thing I looked down! I'm just visiting from California and wanting a tattoo whole I'm here..Thought I would pop in and see what they could do for me. Minimum charge 80 pounds....that's about the same as cali prices although ours go by the hour, which would make it cheaper. The lady I spoke to said that once looking at the picture she would be able to tell me how much...hmmmm...that leaves alot to up the price considerably. Basically touching ink to skin is 80 then they raise it from there. Think I will look around some more before making my final decision. Read Less
