I have been to many tattoo shops and have left feeling a bit uncomfortable, and have felt a negative vibe. This shop however, makes you feel comfortable straight away. You are instantly greeted with smiles, great coffee and great chat. You almost feel like you have known everyone for years. I have had a couple of tattoos from Marcus now and I won’t be going anywhere else. He is not just gypsy gentlemen by name, he is a babe. Every time I look at my arm I love my tattoos so much and feel really proud to show them off. He also never over costs his work which I have found some tattoo artists just round up to get the money in. Each time I leave I feel like I have got a great deal as his work is the best. For many years I have travelled to see this excellent person. He has tattooed both my upper arms and forearms, as well as my entire neck and throat. For the neck and throat piece, I rode my motorcycle from Boston to Brooklyn, NY, and he did it all in one 5 1/2 hr slammer. Marcus did me a stunning punk rock skull with the circle A on my upper arm. Fantastic job, vivid colors, clean lines, looks fresh as new after two years and several sun baths on the Tuscany shore. Marcus is a master of his craft, and a true gentlemen.  As far as tattooers go, he's the genuine article.  He's travelled the world tattooing, and has experience -- not to mention stories -- that few other tattooers have.  If you watch his series, Gypsygentlemen, it's quickly apparent that the tattooers he interviews, his peers in the tattoo world who are some of the most well respected tattoo artists in the business (Thomas Hooper, TinTin, Valerie Vargas, Steve Byrne), have huge respect for him.  He's a heavy weight amongst his peers.  San Diego (really anyone within driving distance in So Cal) is lucky to have him.Bottom line: Marcus is one of the finest tattooers working today.  He has exceptional taste and style, and is immaculate in his detail.  You should trust what he tells you because he knows what he's talking about, and sincerely cares that you like your tattoo.  Plus he's a great dude.  You could not be in better hands.
