The Gallery Custom Tattoo studio is based in Wellington’s CBD on the corner of Bond and Willis Streets. Situated in the top floor of an historic factory building, our studio is a grand, open plan space featuring original artworks on display alongside our tattoo artists’ work stations. Available by appointment only, our tattoo artists are passionate about their work and aim to produce the best tattoos possible to their clients’ individual specifications. Our art gallery is open to the public and features regular exhibitions of original artworks for sale. We welcome you to stop by to take in the art or to book a consultation to discuss your next tattoo.

It was serendipitous that my son and I managed to secure a appointment with Jake on our recent trip down to Wellington. We were after a lunar design - the phases of the moon for me on my forearm and the identical full moon as mine on the bicep for my son Sohl. Jake was amazing. He understood the sentiment and importance of design for me (as a mother) and was stunning with Sohl (his first ink). Building a relationship with a artist in a short period of time is so important when you are getting these life long pieces of Art. Jake was everything I wanted Sohl to experience in an artist, and he joined in on our excitement, which made the journey even more special. The Gallery Custom Tattoo is such a chill vibe full of wonderful, creative and kind artists and collaborators. We will be back.

Yay finally found my tattoo artist!! Angie did such a stellar job on my tatt, have made a day booking to complete my arm. She fully interpreted my ideas into a beautiful piece with amazing line work and shading. The whole team was so welcoming, friendly and made me feel at absolute ease... (the gorgeous hot chocolate and baking helps ;) )
Studio has such an awesome atmosphere, not to mention the wicked playlists!!!🤘🤘🤘
I am stoked that I stumbled upon The Gallery and can't wait to see what awesomeness the lovely Angie comes up with for my next appointment!

From first contact to aftercare absolutely professional and friendly! When I came in for my initial consultation, I had only some brief ideas of what I wanted. I was amazed by what Angie then had prepared for me for my appointment. I guess she'd known what I wanted before I did. In the meantime, the tattoo has healed just fine and I am more than happy with my decision. Thank you so much for a beautiful souvenir of my trip to NZ!

I got my very first tattoo here from Cam a couple of weeks ago. I was pretty anxious beforehand, but Cam and all the team were so lovely and reassuring (never been offered so much tea in my life, and I'm British!). The tattooing experience itself was considerably less painful than I was expecting and the resulting tattoo is amazing and healed really well. I will definitely be back for another!

Clean, professional, througher, in-depth consultations, fantastic after care advice even had emails sent to me just Incase I lose my bit of paper of advice, everything thought of, it’s all in the extra little bits that I have received that have really shown me how fantastic this place is.
I cannot wait to come back, I will let everyone know how fantastic this business really is.
Most importantly my tattoo is better than I had ever dreamed!
The lines are perfect the colour are amazing
You cannot put a price on this level of expertise.
Beyond happy

I had the best experience yesterday!! First class service, it was like a day spa! Drink and yummy slice arrived on a silver tray. Everyone is so warm and welcoming and made me feel instantly at ease. The offer of a chupachup really worked wonders. I felt so relaxed with the interesting ceiling keeping me entertained and watching the fans almost putting me to sleep. As a full time mum it was lovely to go have some time out and relax (dispite the painful pleasure). I got my tattoo done by Angie and from meeting her for a consult to getting the job done, I felt very confident she was going to deliver what I wanted. She was warm and friendly and no question was ever too many!! A huge thank you for the beautiful job and the lovely day I spent with you.

Yesterday, I had the best tattoo experience ever. The studio space is beautiful, the atmosphere peaceful and calm. This was the best tattoo experience I've ever had, by miles. The team are all amazing, the space is beautiful and calming, and the whole experience is very carefully managed, from consult right through to aftercare. Mario is incredibly helpful in the consult stages and produced something brilliant from my rather unstructured original ideas - and of course it turned out beautifully because he's also super talented!

It was serendipitous that my son and I managed to secure a appointment with Jake on our recent trip down to Wellington. We were after a lunar design - the phases of the moon for me on my forearm and the identical full moon as mine on the bicep for my son Sohl. Jake was amazing. I was pretty anxious beforehand, but Cam and all the team were so lovely and reassuring (never been offered so much tea in my life, and I'm British!). What a great experience I had at The Gallery and how wonderful the young apprentices are. What a genuine, earnest, talented, lovely group of young people you have working for you. Of course especially Angie Dawn who has done the most amazing job and I am very happy with my tattoo-it's beautiful (xxx)-but also Cam and (I have forgotten her name) the lovely young woman with the blue hair!! I know you were away on a well deserved holiday-so you’ll be pleased to know the place was in very good hands.
