General Info
Established in 1977 by the late Roger Ingerton after moving from Vivian Street where Roger worked with Kevin Gray ( current owner of Muzzy Shirts ). When Roger retired he gifted the studio to Tom Downs with whom he had known for many years. Tom started working at the studio with Roger and his wife Meg in 2002 but has been tattooing over 25 years. The studio is unlike any other you may see nowadays with the interior and original flash designs drawn by Roger in 1970 adorning the walls. All of the photos on the wall have been tattooed by Roger. Tom wishes to keep the studio as it is because it carries the unique history of tattooing not only in Wellington but also New Zealand.

Tom scheduled me with less than a day’s notice. He worked his craft on me and I’m loving the Elvish script design. It’s perfect! Highly recommended if you’re in Wellington.

Been a long time since Roger inked the Welsh flag on my ankle. I'd be surprised if he's still around but it's nice to see the shop that bears his name is a going concern.

We were on a cruise from Oz and on our Wellington port day I decided I wanted to get a tattoo done. Rogers Tattoo Art were great, helping me out even though I didn't have an appointment. I just showed a picture of the design I wanted done and they even improved on it. So happy with my new tatt! Cannot recommend them highly enough!

Got my first tattoo done here today and I couldn't be more pleased with it. Such a great job, so careful and didnt even hurt as much as I thought it would. Tat turned out exactly how I wanted with some of his ideas put into it. Extremely professional and such a clean neat job. Defz gonna book in for seconds :)

Can anyone let me know if there is a current website or email to reach the shop? I'm located in the US - my fiance and I will be coming to NZ for our honeymoon in Dec. My fiance got his first tattoo done by Rogers years ago and we'd both love to get new ink done during our honeymoon at Roger's, but I'm having a really hard time finding any contact info other than the address and a long distance phone number.
